This was read on the Dr Phil show on Wednesday by Dr Phil and his wife, Robin at the end of his show. Then it was followed by a bell tolling for each life taken at Sandy Hook Elementary on Friday. I'm sure it will go viral, and it should since Jesus is the LIGHT. Eleven Days Before Christmas >> Twas' 11 days before Christmas, around 9:38 a.m. > > when 20 beautiful children stormed through heaven's gate. >> Their smiles were contagious, their laughter filled the air, > > they could hardly believe all the beauty they saw there. > > They were filled with such joy, they didn't know what to say, > > they remembered nothing of what had happened earlier that day. > > "Where are we?" asked a little girl, as quiet as a mouse. > > "This is heaven." declared a small boy. "we're spending Christmas at God's house." > > When what to their wondering eyes did appear, > > but Jesus, their Savior, the children gathered near. > > He looked at them and smiled, and they smiled just the same. > > Then He opened His arms and He called them by name, > > and in that moment was joy, that only heaven can bring. > > Those children all flew into the arms of their King > > and as they lingered in the warmth of His embrace, > > one small girl turned and looked at Jesus' face. > > And as if He could read all the questions she had > > He gently whispered to her, "I'll take care of mom and dad." > > Then He looked down on earth, the world far below, > > He saw all of the hurt, the sorrow, and woe. > > Then He closed His eyes and He outstretched His hand, > > "Let My power and presence re-enter this land!" > > "may this country be delivered from the hands of fools" > > "I'm taking back my nation. I'm taking back my schools!" > > Then He and the children stood up without a sound. > > "Come now my children, let me show you around." > > Excitement filled the space, some skipped and some ran, > > all displaying enthusiasm that only a small child can. > > And I heard Him proclaim as He walked out of sight, > > "In the midst of this darkness, I AM STILL THE LIGHT." > > > Written by Cameo Smith, Mt. Well about 1000 miles into Venture ownership and I have really fallen in love with this bike and this type of bike (Always ridden BMW and Moto Guzzi's). Last couple of times I have gotten back from a ride I notice the smell of gas in my garage. Happens with tank low or just filled up. Can anyone give me any ideas of what to check? Thanks.

1999 RSV developed a slow clutch fluid leak that progressively got worse until one night I filled and it the next morning it had all leaked out from the vicinity of the slave cylinder. Before this I could hear what sounded like a gurgle when motioning the clutch lever. So I have the bike picked up for service. I get a call yesterday. They had flushed and filled the system and voila, no leaks, Zero. WTH was leaking and how did it magically stop? Any and all theories are appreciated. In the mean time I have told them to keep the bike and ride it for a few days to see if the leak returns. Thank you in advance.

Thanks Goose for the carb sync. I bought a can of Sea Foam at Wally World in Mansfield that very evening. Put in two ounces and filled up to start home Sunday morning. Ran that tank low and filled up again and added two more ounces. Buy the time I arrived at 23 in Circle-ville,Ohio I could feel the bike smooth up some and everything is perfect. The bike wasn't really running rough enough to notice for me. But after I felt it smooth up, that is when I become a big fan of Sea Foam."""Thanks Ponch for the center stand, and installing it. I really appreciate it. I purposely came home through some twisty road to see if the stand would drag. It worked fine and no problems. I need to cut myself a piece of 2 x 4 9 1/4 " long to keep in my saddle bag. Now if I am on the road and have a flat. I can plug it and air it up with my Wally World portable 12 volt air pump. """"Thanks Freebird for letting me and Ponch use your battery drill and bit."" ""Wonderful helpful people, thanks to all for information about these bikes and all your help.:cool10:

Well Rocket (Paul) and Grump (Rod) were able to get off this morning. I find myself thankful that they did have an extended stay and in that I must thank the crappy weather. I would match Grump's story telling against any comer... the guy can talk! Rocket has his hands full. Rocket is saying he wants this to be a trip of a life time and I hope he finds plenty of joy and has more than his expectations filled. It is a honor to be among his friends, and I am certainly going to miss his company and am so grateful that he found time to stop in and shower us with his presence. I believe they will try to make it to Bozeman Montana today.

Its an 86 that has been sitting for a little over 2 years, I drained the gas, changed the oil, installed new battery, filled with fresh gas and she fired right up. What other maintenance should I do before I take her out?

Happened for the first time today. Went out for a ride with almost a full tank of gas, look down and the warning light is on and it's showing empty. I eased it for another few miles to the next station with my butt sucking a hickey on the seat because I didn't know if the gage went out or if I had a leak and was actually out of gas. Filled up and it only held about 1 1/2 gallons, rode about another 150 miles and the gage would go from showing completely full to bone dry empty and back again. Filled up a few miles from home and I had only ran out another 1/2 tank or so. Where do I start to fix this blasted thing???

Like several on here lately, I replaced my diaphragms and even though the bike ran stronger under wide open throttle, my low rpm torque seemed to go down some and my gas mileage seemed to drop a little also. I was getting around 38 to 41 with the old diaphragms and the next two fillups after the new diaphragms were about 37-38 and that was 1-up. Yesterday I replaced the .123 thick washer on the needle with three #4 washers that came to about .093 and made a 250 mile ride today, 2-up. Before at about 140-150 miles, the red light was blinking on fuel. Today at 150 miles I still had two bars left. I should have filled up at that point, but I then did a twelve mile pull up the mountain from Morganton, NC to the Blue Ridge Parkway and stopped and filled it up. At the top of the mountain I had 162 miles on it and had just dropped to one bar. When I filled up and put all I could get in it, it only took 3.6 gallons, so that works out to 45 miles per gallon. And, not only did my MPG's go up over ten percent, but now I feel I have the low rpm torque back. So, if you have not considered making the change on the needle valve adjustment, I am strongly suggesting that you do it. It only took me a few minutes to do it, but I don't run the lower fairings anymore and all I had to take off is my bikini side panels. Even taking all the lower fairings off, it is not a big deal and well worth the effort. RandyA

Unless I'm losing my mind I read a couple weeks ago some posts about a seat cover that a few guys were saying good things about. It's filled with air. Now I can't find the posts. Any idea if I saw it here or not?

Went on a group ride from Mobile to New Orleans on HWY 90 west. We averaged about 50mph and I filled up and put in 1.8 gallons and went 93.7 miles. I think that is 52 mpg. Comming home on I 10 east at indicated 75( I know really 70) I went 198 miles before I put it on reserve. Total milage on that tank was 204. Have not filled up second tank yet. Really happy with first tank milage. tew47

When we went to Maintenance Day, was not happy with gas mileage and overall performance. Felt vibration in the seat, especially in 5th gear, only doing 60 to 65. Last week took the bike in and told them about the lousy gas mileage (around 33 to 35 at the above speed) and the vibration. Picked the bike up, was told the carbs where in sync (had done this myself) so that was not touched, but they did do the carb tune, 1 cylinder was running rich, the other 3 on the lean side. So I filled up in Sumter, rode at a constant 60, then filled up at a station close to home. Now for the surprise, 45.2 mpg, this is the best ever done by me. :cool10: Also, Mechanic was saying there was a tick tick noise, Sumter folks heard it also and greased the splines and fingers, no clicking. Mechanic says "Told you so" :rotf: Then when they brought the bike out to me, bad news, battery was dead. Someone there, left the key on. New battery and I did not pay for it. They apoligized and made it right. All this done under warranty and Sumter Extreme Sports gave me no hassles and really are a good Yamaha dealer. I did buy my 08 from them and will continue to do all my bike business with them. Also found out, one of the mechanics bought a used 07 a may be joining the site shortly. :)

My son's moped does not seem to be using any oil. It is a 2003 Derby that has a seperate oil tank and then is supposed to mix the oil and gas automatically but the oil never needs to be filled. Sounds to me like this could be a problem eventually. What should I check first with this? Iowa Guy
