The last two sunday mornings while flipping the channels I have found a show title LA Rider. Wondering if anyone else has seen this. It's a female named TW riding a harley and touring Louisiana. I think I saw a midnight venture in the commercial for the show. Anyone know?

I need to replace the 5-pin female (bike end) DIN connector on my 91 Venture - have intermittent connection and they need to be re-soldered. Does anyone have a source for this connector? I've tried Sierra and internet search. Sierra only has cables, not connectors. Only other ones I can find are chassis mount, not cable mount.

So, I've been studying what kind of bike might replace the old VR. I've lusted (temporarily) after a classic BMW touring bike, but I got some second thoughts after reading this article....(posted in the Globe and Mail, Canada's national newspaper, about a case in San Francisco). Head set wiring for speakers.

So I have a little project I would like to complete. I bought 2 male pigtails that fit into the standard tank plug. My goal is to just wire a 3.5 female stereo plug into the end. This should allow me to plug in my normal stereo plug into the tank plug and listen to the radio through my existing helmet setup. I currently listen to my Jimmy Buffett though a small music stick. QUESTION: Why can't I hear the music by just hooking the #5 (right speaker wire) and #3 (left speaker wire) wires to the female plug and then plugging my existing stereo patch wire into the 3.5 plug ? Do I need a different female receptor than a normal 3.5 female ? I have check the continuity in the wires and they are OK. I have tried it and it just doesn't work.. -
I found this white electricial plug underneath the trunk of my 91 VR as I removed the trunk so I can install a trunk guard. It has two female plugs Anyone know what it is for? -

Hello Guys I am attempting to repair the female end on the intercom cable for the driver coming out of the amp box. has anyone ever used a female commication cable from a computer and if you have. Like to have the wiring. it has two more wires than the old end I took off.

My 87 RSV project is close to winding down, as you all know it'll never end but it looks acceptable and run's good so I'm happy. I got the Bike kinda cheap but it was missing allot of the electronics and never owning a Touring bike before I figured who Needs a radio, it's a bike? Well I need help with the radio actually the female 8 pin main audio connector in the left side Faring. The white plastic female 8 pin connector on the bikes Wiring harness was cut off. I have the connector but I don't know if there is a way to reuse it or if I can get one from some where that will plug into the male 8 pin connector from the Tuner/Amp unit. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I still have lots of questions about this electronics that I find I just can't live with out but one thing at a time. Thanks Pete -
I have a 87 VR and the female 5 pin plug for the passenger headset cord has gotten chewed up through overuse (abuse). The plastic is breaking up and the pins are hanging on,,,barely. I disssambled the rear sound control assembly box (on pasenger left hand side) and it looks like you should be able to wire in a replacement but the female end of the 5 pin plug looks like it is pressed into a metal flange that in turn is connected by two tiny Philip screws to a stamped metal plate. Even if you could even get an original, according to the Yamaha parts manual it looks like you would have to buy the whole module. So, if anyone has an rear assembly box for a First Gen at a reasonable price, please let me know - then I don't have to worry about trying to figure out an alternative. I have to think someone else has already had to contend with this already. Any advice or known solutions? Thanks and Happy 4th to our friends south of the border. Ron

Has anyone tired to repair one of these? Unfortunatly, there seems to be a break in one of the wires about on inch from the female connector, and it looks like I will have to make a repair. Are they hard to work on?
