I just ran across this regarding the DUI driver that stuck and killed the four riders last summer from the Omaha and Glennwood, IA area. I knew he pled guilty and got his 50 years for it. Fair enough. But now Iowa has suspended the liquor license of the the store that sold him MORE beer even though the clerk had been warned about the driver being drunk by other motorists that had seen him on the road. He had even been seen hitting a bridge guardrail not far from the store. But they sold him another cold 40 anyway. Ok, suspended.......for three weeks. Three whole weeks. Geesh. Somehow that don't seem like enough to me. MISSOURI VALLEY, Iowa -- Iowa has suspended the liquor license of a convenience store where authorities say a Nebraska man bought beer before a drunken crash that killed four motorcyclists in western Iowa last summer. In a settlement with the Iowa Alcohol Beverages Division, Taylor Oil Company Inc. admits no wrongdoing or guilt. But it doesn't contest the complaint the company sold beer to a person who was intoxicated. The 3-week suspension for the Taylor Quik-Pik store in Missouri Valley begins Thursday and runs until Aug. 18. Andrew Schlichtemeier, of Murray, Neb., was sentenced to 50 years in prison for vehicular homicide. The men killed in the crash were returning from the annual motorcycle rally in Sturgis, S.D. Can't wait to see my tire guy in Woodstock, who told me I'd never get more than 12,000 on my new Metzler's when I got them back in February. When I told him that I had over 15K on the first set, he said my records must have been wrong, or that I was just yankin his chain. Well, I just turned 18K on this set yesterday, and there is still some pretty good tread life left on them, maybe another 2,000 or 3,000 before it hits the wear indicator, especially on the front. I'll likely get new rubber again in February anyway, but these Marathon 880's have been great tires for my '99 RSV. I run about 60/40 between surface roads and highway, and on the surface roads, it's about 50/50 between country roads and mountain riding. Everyone has their own preference, but there is no denying the great mileage and performance I'm getting, now on two sets in a row.

Low was 9 celcius last night (48 f). Currently 14. Cloudy, a bit of rain, some sunny breaks. Is this February? ... can't really be mid-June! I'll trade you yer Texas heat any day (but not every day )

Does anyone think they may go to the "International Motorcycle Show" in Minneapolis, MN February 13 - February 15, 2009????? Or has any of my neighbors to the north been to it? I would like to know if they have leather sales & repair for a jacket. Also what it is like? Never been to one. Was thinking of coming up Saturday morning & spend the night in a motel, (got a free night I got to use). Then hit it again Sunday for a while before heading home. Thanks in advance, Bryan
