Woohoo! Rode 900 miles through Fay yesterday! Well, to be honest, the first 400 out of Fort Worth was dry and beautiful, but that last 500 - WOW. Thank goodness for a new Avon Venom on the rear - I was able to keep the bike around 70 MPH in just about everything without even a hint of anything but perfect control. Those tires are just AWESOME in the rain. Still have a Pirelli MT66 on the front, about half worn, and it did wonderful yesterday too. Sitting at my brother's place in north Georgia today watching it poor some more. Wonder where Fay keeps getting all this power and water? Hopefully it will move on by over night so we can head out for Arkansas tomorrow and some DRY riding! Goose

Guess we were lucky with Fay.....lost some trees and some of my fence. others around here had large trees going through their house. Now we have Gustav looming out there.......grrrrr

It dont look too good for the Jacksonville area come Thurs if Fay decides to turn into us here. Bad thing is this storm is so misguided that they cant even make an accurate prediction at this point. Storms usually break down over land but since this passed over the Everglades, it had enough moisture to get a bit stronger. Keeping my fingers crossed here. I just hope that wherever this thing lands that everyone is safe.

Hurricane Fay has been an unwelcomed intruder into FL for the past week! When she came to north FL 3 days ago and shut the county down, I spent 2 very enjoyable days in my garage & completed 3 installs on my 01 red Venture that I never had the time to tackle! The rack & guards are typical but the driver's backrest was a challenge! A few weeks ago I had a Kawasaki 1600 Vulcan Nomad in my garage and was very impressed with the substantial passenger back rest (sissy bar pad). That same day I happen to check for similar items on ebay and found and bought a new/used one off an 07 Vulcan for $40.00! It feels great while sitting on it in the garage but whenever Fay decides to leave us alone I will be excited to get the RSV out on the road with the new goodies on her! Next will be the tach, xenon H4 bulb, the votage thingamajig so I can add more lighting, etc, etc :>) Having trouble uploading photos here but here are some on this link: http://ebay-misc-auctions.blogspot.com/2008/08/dads-rec-stuff.html
