OK..back by popular request is a modification that allows you to create your own favorite smiles. There is a small bug in the programming code that is causing it to show two rows of blocks at the bottom of the quick reply box where it should be only one. I will get that figured out. In the meantime, it does work. First of all, I have again created some categories of the available smilies to make it easier to find the ones you want in general. There is also a category called "My Favorites". To add your favorite 20 smiles to that category, you have to click on "Settings" in the upper right of the page. Then scroll down until you see DBTech - VBEdtior Tabs in the left menu. Under that is "Favorites Tab Settings". Just click on that and then drag your favorite 20 into the box.

A long time ago a former member named Pyro told me about a book/story about some guy... I think his name was Patches I am not sure. It tells of his history working his way up to his favorite Venture and riding it across the country. Does anyone know the name of this story and where I can find it? Thanks in advance CG:fingers-crossed-emo

My favorite is Loveless Cafe In Nashville just off the Natchez Trace, food served SOUTHERN, BBQ, & their biscuits and home made jams!!!! Our 1st trip there we arrived at 3pm on a Sunday afternoon and there was a 45 minute wait, BUT it was well worth the wait!! They have spots out front for motorcycles .. wow I may see if wife wants to ride up this weekend

Noone that I have come across in my life so far is or ever was an original owner. Well, one reletive of mine was and he totalled it setting the cruise so i dont really know if that counts. I guess what im asking if there is anyone who is or was, what made you chose the venture over the GL 1200/1500. Have you ridden both bikes? And what are your key favorite things about both? I just figured this would be a neat thread to start. Well ill buckle up for hopefully a great story!!!

Col Ralph Parr is a Double Fighter Ace; Fought in WWII, Korea & Vietnam. Before starting you should get your favorite beverage for this is quite a long read but it Exemplify the American Fighting Spirit. He shares one experience where he single handed took on 16 Mig-15s. http://www.goldengatewing.org/proptalk/speaker.cfm?ID=26 I'd recommend purchasing the CD. It is great to invite friends over to share with friends on Veterans Day.

The link below should take you to the 10 most expensive bikes in the world. At least that is the title of the article. I thought it was interesting that from $90,000-$300,000+ each bike would only be good for a short ride if that. None of them lets me carry any stuff. Some of the bikes reminds me of one of my favorite thoughts - Just because you can build something does not mean that you should. http://motorcycles.about.com/od/buyingamotorcycle/tp/The-10-Most-Expensive-Motorcycles-in-the-World.htm

FROM A 2ND GRADE LITLE BOY: Our teacher asked us what our favorite animal was, and I said, "Fried chicken." She said I wasn't funny, but she couldn't have been right, because everyone else in the class laughed. My parents told me to always be truthful and honest, and I am. Fried chicken is my favorite animal. I told my dad what happened, and he said my teacher was probably a member of PETA. He said they love animals very much. I do, too. Especially chicken, pork and beef. Anyway, my teacher sent me to the principal's office. I told him what happened, and he laughed, too. Then he told me not to do it again. The next day in class my teacher asked me what my favorite live animal was. I told her it was chicken. She asked me why, just like she'd asked the other children. So I told her it was because you could make them into fried chicken. She sent me back to the principal's office again. He laughed, and told me not to do it again. I don't understand. My parents taught me to be honest, but my teacher doesn't like it when I am. Today, my teacher asked us to tell her what famous person we admire most. I told her, "Colonel Sanders." Guess where I am now...

OK I know this doesn't have anything to do with riding but since college football is just a couple of weeks away I was wondering who everyones FAVORITE team is. My wife and I have been going to every home and a few away games and tailgating at all of them for the last 12 years or so and the team we follow are the Purdue Boilermakers PS we are going to try and do some tailgating this year with our motorcycle and trailer and see how that goes. Should be the only ones doing that.

If you do, you might want to check out Buffalo's Wild Wings tomorrow night. My son's "cover" band (he's the drummer and this is one of several bands he's in, including jazz, country, show, etc.!) will be performing there. You can eat, drink, and enjoy some of your favorite music. It's on the other side of the world for me, but I'm going to try to make it and hope to see you there! Terry

Well at least Iron Butt-ish. Last week on my way to visit sis in Washington, I had my first over 1k day. Brush Co to Thompson Falls Montana. The Tom Tom said it was 1050 miles. Great day and the Venture ran great. Second part of the trip took me over Hwy 20 through Washington. It was amazing, even by Colorado standards, this was a great ride. Great roads, fantastic views and plenty of our favorite signs. (not Free Beer, our other favorite signs) George

Last night on chat, Bj66 and I were discussing our favorite TV show of the past or present. Many names I had forgotten came to mind. I was wondering what are some of your favorite detective shows? I really liked Columbo, because it was also funny and Peter Falk was pretty quirky. Yama Mama

My new favorite ride... This is my new favorite ride. I've rode to Mount Diablo and to Yosemite but Big Trees is now my favorite. Diablo has a lot of bicyclists which makes me nervous. Yosemite has a lot of traffic and pedestrians on the road. Even on a holiday traffic is light up on the way to Big Trees. http://helmetspeakers.741.com/images/forumAds/Clipboard02.jpg Below are the pictures Steve took and he wrote the comments: July 4th 2009 Calaveras Big Trees... This July 4th 2009 we rode to Calaveras Big Trees in CA. We meet in Stockton CA, and ride east on HWY 4. The riders where Mike (HD), Lucy (HD) , Rachel (HD), Debra (HD), Kyle and Brooke(Gold Wing), Kenny (Valkyrie), Jerry (V-star 1300), Myself and Heather (Gold Wing) and a friend of Rachel’s (HD) my bad I did not get his name. From Stockton to the Big Trees Park it is about a 1 hour and half ride, once in the park we headed to the lookout over view to check things out and stretch out a little before heading to the visitor center and a short hike. http://helmetspeakers.741.com/images/forumAds/101_1129.jpg http://helmetspeakers.741.com/images/forumAds/101_1130.jpg http://helmetspeakers.741.com/images/forumAds/101_1126.jpg http://helmetspeakers.741.com/images/forumAds/101_1128.jpg After a little break we headed down the hill, the trail we did was the 1.5 mile North Grove, the trail is flat and an easy walk for people not in great shape (myself). At the beginning of the trail there is a very large tree stump. http://helmetspeakers.741.com/images/forumAds/101_1137.jpg Kyle is acting like he is the tree. http://helmetspeakers.741.com/images/forumAds/101_1134.jpg Kenny is pointing at the age ring on the tree for the year he was born, can you say old! http://helmetspeakers.741.com/images/forumAds/101_1135.jpg Jerry is taking a break in the shade of the large tree. http://helmetspeakers.741.com/images/forumAds/101_1138.jpg I see Heather looking at me, I think she is telling me to jump! http://helmetspeakers.741.com/images/forumAds/101_1136.jpg The paths in the park are great, makes for easy walking. http://helmetspeakers.741.com/images/forumAds/101_1144.jpg Kinda look like a lava flow. http://helmetspeakers.741.com/images/forumAds/101_1149.jpg http://helmetspeakers.741.com/images/forumAds/101_1148.jpg http://helmetspeakers.741.com/images/forumAds/101_1163.jpg After the hike and a short rest we headed home.

Just got home last night from a quick trip through Yellowstone, sadly in the cage. We went over the Beartooth pass, I loved it, my wife absolutely hated it. Can't wait to take the bike over it. It is now officially my new favorite road.

What is the single most favorite modification you've made to your bike? Was it a cup holder for your water, or a Dyna 3000, new pipes, LED lighting... trailer hitch? What's the one thing you can't go without, and if you bought a new bike now it would be the first thing you do? For my last bike, for me it was The FAIC pipe I put on it. Had I of known what I know now, I would have done that first thing.. I put pullback risers on it first mod, but it wasn't the best thing I did to it. For this bike, I'm still not sure, but I'm thinking backrest will be the first thing I do, but I doubt in the long run it will be my favorite.

Took a 200 mile ride today with members Hoffy and Buffalo Bodnar....well, the diet started off ok with a couple of turkey dogs from the grill. then it went down hill from there...we ended up at one of my favorite restaurants in LeRoy ny..bad food...bad... I mean good food , just bad for my diet..then that d@#m Hoffy forced me to have desert...this is after he messed up our meeting place in the am and I was forced to buy a piece of cheesecake at another of my favorite eateries while waiting for him to arrive ...He missed our place to meet by 45 miles.......Then after only thirty minutes in the saddle, he and his sidekick (BUFFALO BODNAR) FORCED me to stop for ICE CREAM.......WHOOOOO, I need friends who won't shove all that fatty food down my throat..... its all your fault guys if I gain any weight before MD...yeah,... its all your fault..and thats the story I'm sticking with....:fnd_(16):
