OK I was looking at my bike were they install the rectifier, regulator and I seen something that just does not look right to me. The plug and wires are attracted to the bottom to and hanging down. I would think it should be up in the bike as to not be exposed to the ground could someone take a look at this for me on there bike to see if it is right.

I have noticed that when I stop at a light or a traffic jam, there is a tremendous amount of heat coming at my legs and drifting up. When I got back to the garage I left it running and looked around for the source. It seems that most of the heat comes from the 1.5 inches of exposed exhaust pipe from the back two cylinders. Does any one make a shield for this space? Rich

http://www.rampagelift.com/ I want to take our travel trailer and our bike to the Grand Canyon this year and this seems to be the only way I can do it. I bought one yesterday and it should do the trick. I guess I'll have to take some polish and cleaning rags since the bike will be exposed to the elements.

Well since I'm new hear. My name is Jeff , I live about 20 miles south of Wichita KS on 81. I own an 83 XVZ12TK, an 81 Honda CB900F Super Sport and an 80 Suzuki GS1000L/G, so as you can tell I like the older bikes. I rescued the Venture this past winter from a non-mechanic for a measly $600, it has a little over 37k on it. He said the rear shock wouldn't hold air so he hung it from his garage rafter by a chain and attempted too take it apart he took the air box off and left the carbs exposed for 4 yrs and where he had it at had a leak in the roof and dripped onto the throttle at the grip and when I gave it a twist I heard and felt a snap snap so now I need cables as well . But what I need to know is, where I can find a carb rebuild kit/kits? I've always redone my motorcycle carbs in boiling water then blew them out with an air compresser, sprayed them out with starting fluid to remove access water, let them sit for a day or 2 then put them back together and to this date I haven't had any problem, but with these carbs being exposed for 4 years that might not work. Any suggestions would be appreciated. SSL

We just sold our first generation Venture and are looking at the 2nd gen. My wife's question is "how much heat is generated on the legs with the engine exposed (on the newer bikes)?" TIA Bob & Lisa Salt Lake City, Ut
