I have a 2012 RSV, and I'm having a problem with the passing lights. The right side will go off and come back on at random times going down the road. Has anyone experienced this problem? Both bulbs are new and still do the same thing. Thanks for any help.

I've been hunting around, and I can't figure out exactly how to remove the class computer so I can do the E4 repair. On my 86 venture royale, the class is attached to a pivoting mount, so I can easily get to the plugs, but I can't get it out, I loosened the four screws at the back, but that doesn't seem to be all I need to do to get it out of the fariring. Need some experienced assistance please.

Got up at 5 am to meet up with some GWRRA members about 30 miles from the house. It was 35 when I hit the road. Had some coffee at the meeting place and the sun was finally coming up. Another 40 mile ride to the MSF experienced rider course where we spent the next 4.5 hours finding out just how much we really do suck at riding. I actually was impressed with myself. I did improve my u-turns however my tight s-turns need to be worked on, but I managed to muddle through it. 12 wings and one RSV did the course. Instructor pulled me aside after several courses and said he wants me in 2nd gear, which he did state at the time of the first course. Told him this aint a wing. At the speeds you want us to do the RSV will bog down. I tried it and was lugging the engine so I stopped. I did manage second when speed was sufficient to warrant it. The Experienced Rider Course is a must for anyone looking to re-evaluate their riding skills. Cant believe how many bad habits I had picked up over the years. My chapter of the GWRRA, FL1-J, had a lunch ride planned right after. We ended up riding another hour southwest to the town of Hawthorne where we ate at the Yearling Restaurant. Pretty good food but a bit pricey and good company. 100 miles trip back home in 70 degree weather made for a nice day. I was pooped but glad I did it. All in all about 200+ miles.

I've read the previous posts regarding the Ride On tire protection system and have seen the good comments. Just wondering if anyone here has ever experienced any problems with the product?

I'm sure it's been said before, but if anyone has an opportunity to take an "experienced rider course", I highly recommend it. I just completed one on Sunday, and I had a blast. I wouldn't say I learned a ton I didn't already know (at least in theory), so much as I was able to become more comfortable with my bike, and put things into practice in a controlled environment. I watched my dad throw his Goldwing around like a toy, to the amazement of us both. And to make it more interesting, we got to practice "emergency braking in a curve", right about time time it started pouring down rain. We all had a blast, and a couple of us have already discussed taking it again next year, just for the practice.

I am mapping out a long distance trip for next summer - something I have not yet done with the 05 Midnight as yet. I have done all the bike service and added the new tires, bought some good sun glasses and............... It seems to me however - many of you have done this long distance riding thing already- so I was wondering if all you long trip experienced riders might help a newbie in this area. If there were one or two things you would do differently, or one of two things you would have taken along or adjusted or whatever - that would have made the long distance ride more enjoyable (safer, more relaxing etc) ...what would those one or two things be???

Has anyone else had problems with the intercom and radio on their Venture? I have an 07 and I have recently had the intercom system squeel and chirp. When this happens none of the controls for the radio or intercom work. I have to unplug the head sets and turn the bike off in order to use the radio and intercom (it seems like it resets adn all is good for a while). I have also had problems with the radio with the only control that works in the volume none of the other buttons work. I have not had a chance to take it into the dealer yet. Just looking to see if others have experienced this.

A friend just sent me this link via Email, and even though it relates to car tires I tought it might be of interest, and apply to motorcycle tires as well. Especially since the cord-cap seperations that have been experienced by a few on this board. It might be something to be aware of the next time we purchase new tires. http://abcnews.go.com:80/Video/playerIndex?id=4826897

As mentioned in the subject line.... My nice chrome mufflers on my 84 Venture got extremely hot awhile back and the chrome got a blue tint to it. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, how do you get the blue off the chrome and restore it to the bright chrome finish?
