Ok, so I am new here to this site on the trial membership right now at least until payday to pay my $12. A fee well worth the knowledge I have already gained from you. I bought my 2006 Venture last december and have loved stacking on the miles. Unfortunately I ended up going off road with her and beat us both up pretty. Lucky for me I was wearing most of my protective gear. My Venture is in the local dealership because I didnt know where else to send her for repair. The insurance adjuster called today said they would send me a check for the repairs but I needed to call the dealership and give them consent to do the repairs. When I called the service manager said they would be in touch with "their" estimate for repair. Humm am I missing something here? I feel like they are going to give me a higher estimate than the appraisor. Does this sound right to anyone? I havent had anything like this happen with my cage repairs.

A woman backed into me at the gas pumps and rolled the tip of the front fender under. I can feel a slight crease in the fender back near the forks where it mounts. The crease is hard to see but I can feel it. The fender will need to be replaced. It appears their ins. is going to pay up and I'm waiting on a call from their claims adjuster. An estimate has not been done yet. I'm hoping after the estimate is done they'll wright me a check for estimate, parts and labor. I could then install the fender myself and pocket the labor $. I don't know if it will work out this way or not. Luckily this is my first expierance with something like this. The problem is, I cant find a fender in my color. No, I havent checked with the dealer yet. I'm trying to save a little. 2009 RSV"S" in Seashell/Raven. Any ideas where I can find one?

Hi, I am new here and this is my first post. I have a 1990 venture royale that just turned over 40,000 miles. It was working very well until recently, but now it is revving too high and, in addition, I have to manually turn the throttle back to slow the RPMs down (i.e.: it does not go back if I just release it). I have been told that I have two problems: 1) I need a new throttle cable, and 2) I have some kind of vacuum leak. Then they tell me that since it is a very old bike, they can not give me an estimate of what it will take to fix it because once they start probing all the little connectors near the carb they may fall apart and it may take an undeterminable amount of time (labor) plus time (elapsed) while looking for whatever parts may be needed. I realize that it is true that without a magic ball it may be impossible to come up with an accurate estimate, but I would like to have an idea of some likely range, specially the upper bound. Any ideas on realistic cost in terms of 1) availability and cost of parts that are likely to be needed and 2) number of labor hours involved? I thank you in advance for any light you may shed on the subject

OK folks. The design, color, etc. is pretty much finalized. The poll has been simplified. Please take the time to vote as it is important that I get a good estimate on the number of shirts that will be ordered. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=45433
