9079.1 [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-YQAveqpug&NR=1]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-YQAveqpug&NR=1[/ame] WAS LOOKING AT ROYAL STAR ON YOUTUBE AND THERE'S HUNDREDS OF LISTING ON THERE NOW. uses to go and only find a few on it. this video shows about 15-20 royals riding around germany and the poster has a few more of the same trip. looks like a royal ride-in european style!! got mine in 2001 and you couldn't find anything much about them anywhere, now the whole world knows about them. it's great to see so many other enjoying these great bikes, wish yamaha would step up and get their head out of their azzes and do the right thing and upgrade them to what they should be!!!

Yesterday, wife and I were out and about, just enjoying getting on the bike for a time. We were heading out of OKC on the freeway when we were passed by two Motor Officers, riding side by side at about 70 MPH. I picked up speed and stayed behind them for a while just watching them. Like I said, we were traveling at 70 MPH, the two officers were exactly side-by-side. The thing was, there were never more than 2-4 inches between the tips of their handlebars, always perfectly aligned. They were talking and laughing with each other, apparently perfectly relaxed, looking around enjoying the day as much as I was. I followed them through several lane changes, passing cars, until they took an exit. Never did they move further apart or get ahead of the other, during these manuvers. They never looked down at where they were in relation to the other, they just seemed to know. I consider myself a fairly smooth and consistant rider, but I cannot imagine riding that close on purpose. The confidence you must have, not only in yourself but in your partner, is way beyond any I could muster. It was a beautiful thing to see.

ok...Today I am headed to the Smoky Mts...Waiting till the sun gets up before I leave due to all the critters that like to run out in front of you. First day today should be about 488 miles till our first destination. Planning on riding most the good places and return Thursday before the Labor Day traffic gets all wadded up. I will be escorting a Ultra Classic up to the area with a really good friend of mine so I will not be enjoying all this alone. Wife really wanted to go but she has to work. So... Stay out of my way if you are in a cage...cause I am coming through. PS photos to follow.

Would everyone going to Freebirds' maintenance day like to take part in a fun project?:puzzled: I was thinking of replacing my wallpaper on the computer, and thought (careful!) a photograph of everyone attending the MD would make a terrific one:thumbsup2: So when I wish I was there enjoying your company I can look at the computer and see your smiling faces, and everybody waving to Aussie Annie:banana::banana:So what'd'ya think--is it do-able HUH,HUH

Good morning, all. My name is Nick Diaz, and I'm new to this board, as I'm buying a 1998 Venture Royale this week. I've enjoyed this site in the past week or so, in anticipation of Venture ownership. I'm 60 years old and have been riding for 38 years now, and look forward to many more on my beautiful white VR. For 35 years my bride and I have been living in Frederick County, MD, where good roads abound. I'm a middle-school mathematics teacher (I know, I know, "How can you stand those middle-school brats?") Answer: Someone has to do it... One of the things I do for fun is write a biweekly column for a local news and commentary webstie known as The Tentacle -- www.thetentacle.com . My topics are either math education or motorcycling; considering this site is not a "motorcycle" website, it's neat how I get a chance to "educate" the nonmotorcycling public, with a "contrarian" point of view. Somehow I find it difficult to write about education at this time of year -- I wonder why... My latest contribution just came out this morning. Go to the following: http://www.thetentacle.com/author.cfm?MyAuthor=52 , then click on "Enjoying What Life Brings on Two Wheels." (While you're at it, click on my brief bio at the top.)
