There was another thread but not sure where it is about the clutch upgrade. The one where you add the full disc and remove some other parts. I actually done that a couple of years ago and was never really happy with it. I didn't like the clutch engagement point or even the way it acted. A month or so the thing started slipping again. 75K miles on the bike. I was checking all my options, barrnet spring etc. What I ended up doing was ordering all new parts from Yamaha. Clutch is real solid, engagement point is where it should be and I'm happy again. Kind of reinforces what I have thought all along, original parts and sizing always seem to work best. BOO

First the superbrace would not fit on a 1990 model because the rubber fork boots I believe mount different than earlier models. I ended up machinning the brace to make it fit. Second if you look at the picture there is barely any thread engagement compared with the original brace. I cant believe people are riding around with such small thread engagement it cant be good. Im going to the store to get a longer set for safeties sake. Anybody else check how much the threads actually engage the forks?
