Pirelli - MT66 Route Cruiser rear tire.... I hope I didn't make a mistake.... a friend on another board highly recommended the tire...if I can get 2/3 of the wear I did out of the Elite 3 I will be happy it was $52.00 cheaper so this means I can buy the tire, have it mounted for what I would have given 4 the E3...

I have been using the Continental TK16 and TK17 ContiTour tires on our 1986 for years. Handle great, wear fantastic, and have a good price. So, to reward me for being a loyal customer since 1982 (1981 GoldWing), they discontinued the tire. HOW DARE THEY!!! Don't they know how many classic touring bikes have used these for years? Next, Dunlop will discontinue the raised white letter Elite II. Crap, they heard me! I guess I will try a set of Elite 3 tires on the old girl. Can you tell I hate change? JB

Here it is, March 2, 2012. We just completed 2 months of the year and this morning I got an email from Choice Hotels congratulating me on achieving Diamond Elite Status for this year. I've been a Diamond Elite member for a lot of years but you have to re-qualify every year. That is the top level of their membership program and I think you achieve it at 40 nights. I am not bragging about it....I'm really just TIRED of being gone so much. It doesn't even include my last 8 or 10 nights on the road and yes, I'm writing this from another hotel room. I know that I am fortunate to have a job at a time when so many are out of work and I am indeed thankful for that.

1st; I did do some searches before posting: Bought a 2008 Venture with 9k miles last week. It's still freezing here so I haven't even ridden it yet but I am already scoping out the farkles .... 1. Looking for a recommendation on a tank bag. I usually have gloves, an SLR camera, eyeglass case, and a bunch of little items. 2. what options for a tach. I know I don't really need one but every road bike I've ever owned had one so I feel naked without it. 3. saddlebag liners available? 4. local dealer says dunlop elite III's for rubber. I know there is a million opinions on what the are the BEST tires and I don't want to open that can of worms; just wondering if there is a reason against the Dunlops. had them on my Gold WIng and liked them. I am planning on buying one of the small 0-60 psi hand pumps for the suspension and flat tire inflation. thx in advance for help or suggestions.

Just got finished putting a new set of Elite III's on the old 86 and did a good ride to break them in. Man they are a smooth, good handling tire!! One question, how much pressure do I need to run in them? I had Elite II's on it before and I ran the manual specs for two up (35 front / 40 rear). Should I run the Elite III's the same??? Thanks for the input.

I asked my local Stealer to check on the Dunlop Elite 3' for my 09' venture, they said that Elite 3's didn't have size for the Venture. So is there a different size listed for that tire, for the Venture?? What am I missing ? besides the usual IQ stuff. My Factory Rear tire is done at 6200 miles,, I keep it at correct press, etc... no burnouts Thanks Vern

The Dunlop web page shows an Elite 3 front tire is now available for a MK1; Elite 3 MR90-18H part# 4079-84 Can anyone verify this is correct before I order one from MotorCycle SuperStore?

Here is a few pictures of my rear elite 3 at only 7400 miles, front is down in the wear bars. I won't be going back with these any time soon I'm not sure how you guy's are getting better mileage. Bike 90% ridden two up, tire pressure checked before every ride.

Hi all: What is the specific number of the Elite 3 rear tire that should be used on the 2007 Venture. Looking on line there appears to be only one (MV85HB15). Is that the one? I am running Avons Venoms at present and I know when I ordered it I had to specify which model as there was more than one that would fit Thanks for the help. JR

I'm not sure I'm placing this in the right forum, but I rec'd my Dunlop Elite 3's last week and got them mounted and balanced. I can't believe the difference! The bike handles so much crisper. I can especially notice that at low speeds. The tires are quiet, smooth, & great for not tracking grooves. The bike even feels lighter. I am very satisfied. Thanks to the members who recommended them! I purchased them through Southwest Moto Tires (who is recommended on here) and rec'd them the NEXT day! S/H is free when you purchase 2 tires.

Has anyone purchased any E-3's for a 2nd gen lately? If so where did you get them and what are the date codes on them.

I know there are a buch of threads out abount tires, however, I just wanted to double check on brand. I have been using metzler me880's for a while but not happy with them at all. I am looking at Dunlop Elite 3's and just want to make sure this is a good tire(s) for my 06 RSV.

FYI - After checking around a bit, the best price I found for Dunlop Elite 3's here in Ontario was $139 all in for a rear tire (MU90B16) from Matt at MC Impacts. For the month of April, he is selling tires with tax included.

Because I am a dumb dumb and cant find what I want after searching my heart out. What exactly is the new fangled code number for the rear tire RSV Elite 3! They spell it out in numbers for the front thank goodness but the rear .... Is it MU85B15?

Good Morning All, On Tuesday of next week I'm going to have new Dunlop Elite 3 put on front and rear. On the Dunlop web site it says to run 36# in the front and 40# in the rear. Is this what all you Elite 3 runners are putting in? This seems a bit low to me as I've been running 40# front and 43# rear in the stock stones. Want to get the best life out of these tires as possible! Thanks!

Is anybody running the Dunlop elite III? Can you tell me what you think and mileage? Thanks.

I ordered a new set of Dunlop Elite 3s for my 07 from Bike Bandit on 10/20. They had the front in stock, received it in 3 days and was very pleased. The back tire was backordered. First date they gave me was 10/30 from the factory. Then it pushed to 11/10. I was out of town last week and when I got back I checked my order and still showed back ordered. Called them Monday morning and it has now pushed to 11/20. Have a flat on the back. 13,000 miles on set with tread left, but had a peice of metal in back I removed and plugged till I get my new ones in. Got home and the tire is flat again. Aired it up and is leaking. Don't want to take a chance with it now. Called around to all the local shops, Yamaha, Honda, Power Sports, Cycle Gear, etc. No one has one in stock. Checked all the online sources, same thing. Went to the Cycle World international Motorcycle Show Sunday in Dallas, had to drive truck cause flat tire on bike. Weather was bueatiful, not happy about not rididng. Found a Dunlop rep there and he told me that size tire is not a big sellar so they are probably pushing it back to meet other tire deliveries. Anyway I called Bike Bandit back Monday morning and they had plenty of Avons in stock so I ordered one ($30 more) and it was delivered yesterday. Very happy with Bike Bandit folks willing to help any way they could and got my tire to me quick. I have a ride this Saturday that has been planned for long time and have missed riding to work for a couple of weeks when the weather was great. Also a lot of Toy Runs coming up I want to do. Just letting everyone know if you are thinking of getting a Dunlop Elite 3 you need to order now and maybe you might get it by Christmas.

Has anyone had any experience with the Tourmaster Elite II 2 piece rainsuit. My Frog Toggs are worn out and I want to try something different. I have read some good reviews and I like the way they look. Any thoughts? http://www.tourmaster.com/xcart/catalog/Elite-Series-II-2-Piece-Rainsuit-Jacket-p-84_8.html

Just got my bike back with new Dunlop Elite III's on it ('86 VR, had Dunlop Elite II's). First corner, the bike really leaned over, and surprised me. Then I figured it out..... My tires are round again. The tires I took off were on the bike when I bought it 3+ years ago, and I have put on about 10,000 miles in that time. They were 1996! tires, and I found a crack getting bigger on the back, so decided before going to the STAR event in Indy next weekend to get new tires. Those old tires, were like any old motorcycle tire, worn more in the middle than on the sides, thus they were kind of squared off! New tires are round and the bike wants to lean over sooner and easier. I also found I could hold my line better on sweepers. Love the new Elite III's so far, first new set of tires in many many years. (I didn't ride for 20+ years till I got this bike recently.)

I just bought a set of Dunlop Elite IIIs for my RSV and I noticed that the front tire is fatter than the rear... This bugged me a little so I did some poking around and found out the MV85-15 size listed for the RSV rear is the same as a 150/80-15 (See it here)... I got the stock size 150/80-16 for the front and I guess because of the 1" difference in rim size makes the front wider... I haven't got past the scrub in stage yet so I'm not sure if it affects handling... Has anyone else noticed this???

Just bought some Dunlop Elite 3 tires and man what a difference. In the past I was skeptical when people say they switch tires and have a different riding experience with the new tires. I figure, tires are tires, shouldn't feel any difference between the different brands. I didn't feel the difference between Dunlop 404's and Metzelers on my previous bike. Well I am skeptical no more. The Elite 3's help the bike be very responsive. Since I have been used to the Metzelers (previous tires on the bike) I have to be careful at times. I am not used to the new tires yet and what I consider improved handling.
