As some of you know, I have a problem,,,, I know what you are thinking, but this is a new one. I ride a 2014 Spyder and installed JMCB 2003 for a CB and intercom. The intercom works fine, and the CB broadcasts just fine. Now if we get 2 CBs close together I can hear the other, if they are more than 4ft apart I can't hear the other person. I can hear a tapping on their mic, but no voice comes through. Now hear is the next problem then. I contacted JM corp and they would like me to try to use one of their headsets. I use the Edsets with the proper cord, but they were wondering if I could try one of theirs. SO!!!! anybody in the area have a set they could lend me??

Just got an 06 RSV Midnite and couldn't be happier! My son and I are going to be doing some trips this spring and summer. Ready to buy some headsets. I know the Yamaha headsets are made by J&M and I can get a 15% discount on those. How do they compare to the Edsets? I've read a lot of post and not sure which to purchase. Any advice would be appreciated as far as sound quality and wind noise, Reliability etc. What a great site, I look foward to joining. Thanks Scott

I spoke to my friend Ed Davis, and I offered to show his stuff for him at MD. He is going to send me an assortment of his products to bring along. If there is anything in particular that you might want to see, give Ed a call or e-mail and it will be at MD for you to try out. He can send what you want either to me or to Don's place. You should direct questions about Ed's products directly to him ((937)271-4077, http://www.edsets.com/ ) BTW, Edsets are not my gig. Mine is in Mic-Mutes. I think that Edsets are the best headsets that you'll find. www.Mic-Mutes.com Bill Morphy

How many of you are running the Edsets and in your opinion are they worth the extra money say over the J&M? I have the chatterbox now and have never really liked them and also they do not have good volume. Tom

Thanks to Edsets and Don for getting us a great deal. When we got the 04 earlier this year it came with two Tour Com helmets with J&M's installed. We tried them, Wrong size, not impressed with helmet, not impressed with sound quality. Installed the new Edsets in our Shoei RJ helmets last week, (the install was easy and looks great) and tried them out yesterday, awesome! One quirk that our 2nd gen audio systems seem to have is the open intercom. I had always assumed that the front and rear talk button was for the intercom and the CB. I guess it's only for the CB. The Edsets sounded great until we started to ride. then they got noisy and really crappy sounding. Figured out real quick that you need to turn the IC volume down to "0" to enjoy the music. Am I missing something here or does the Wife need to thump me on the head to signal me to turn the IC volume up so she can tell me to slow down:confused24:

Some of you may be interested in this. I could not afford to by two new headsets for the wife and I, so while browsing edsets products I noticed that they had individual speakers for $12.25 each in the accessories and parts. I ordered a pair and took my J&M head set and spliced these speakers in. Althou you could get the matching connectors prob. from Radio shack I just cut the one off from J&M as well as edsets and soldered the wires together. The wires are not color coded so had to guess here and tried it out before I soldered it in. If you look at the attachement with the speakers facing up the top wire or the one right (with red arrow) was soldered to the white wire on the J&M and the other on the black wire. Don't know how much difference it would have made but on speakers usually poitive to positive and neg to neg. Any way doing it this way it worked and the sound is great. For $25 and shipping It is like a whole different set. Hope this may help some who are in the same boat I was in but would like better sound. Thanks to Don for what he has done on this and I really debated on writing this cause I don't want to take anything away from edsets. The music is better and the conversation is better with this set up.

OK folks...some of you may remember that last fall I had posted my plans to do a group purchase of Edset's Headsets. After he told me that he was coming out with a new Third Generation product, I decided to wait. Not only that but to be honest, I've tried a lot of headsets. J&M high and low ends, AirRider which are considered high end and EXPENSIVE, etc. etc. Regardless of if I paid a LOT or just a little, I have never been happy with what I got. So, I have really been on the fence about spending $200.00 for another set that would leave me wanting more. Last week I broke down and ordered a set of Edset's. They came in yesterday and I found time to put them in today. I've got to tell you folks, I think we have a winner. These have the best sound that I have heard from any that I've tried. Bass is pretty good and the music is very clear. Haven't tried them yet for communications but to be honest, that was the least of my concern. I've found that most are fine for communications. He did tell me that the biggest complaint that he gets from new customers is that the mic is sensitive and he has to explain to people that you need to turn down your intercom with these because they don't require the volume that others do. Now here is what I REALLY like about these. They are completely modular. If a speaker goes bad, you unplug and replace it. If the mic goes bad, you unplug and replace it. All connectors for the upper and lower cords are gold plated also. But what I REALLY like is the fact that on the back of the module is a 1/8" speaker jack. You can even buy these without speakers if you want to and plug your earbud speakers into the module. I bought the speakers but also plan to try them with some good earbud speakers. I think it will work GREAT. You can also plug an IPOD or other MP3 player into that same jack if you wish. These are just very versatile. That jack would be a great option for you first gen riders who don't have an auxiliary input. So, I am planning to order another set for my wife's helmet and if there is any interest, I can put together a group purchase at this time. Price will depend upon what you want but the set I bought for an open face helmet with RCA microphone, speakers and speaker pouches came to about $210.00. I think I could get that down to about $180.00 plus shipping if I order 10 or more sets. I would have them all shipped to me and I would cover that shipping. Then to you would probably be about $7.50 or so in the USA. I will have to get a shipping price for Canada. So...if you are interested... now is the time to speak up.
