If not pg rated I apolagize, but it's pretty funny. Problem with my ear..... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ear Infection... This is so true! They always ask at the doctor's reception why you are there, and you have to answer in front of others what's wrong and sometimes it is embarrassing. There's nothing worse than a Doctor's Receptionist who insists you tell her what is wrong with you, in a room full of other patients. I know most of us have experienced this, and I love the way this old guy handled it. A 75-year-old man walked into a crowded waiting room and approached the desk. The Receptionist said, 'Yes sir, what are you seeing the Doctor for today?' 'There's something wrong with my Penis, he replied. The receptionist became irritated and said, 'You shouldn't come into a crowded waiting room and say things like that.' 'Why not, you asked me what was wrong and I told you,' he said. The Receptionist replied; 'Now you've caused some embarrassment in this room full of people. You should have said there is something wrong with your ear or something and discussed the problem further with the Doctor in private.' The man replied, 'You shouldn't ask people questions in a roomful of strangers if the answer could embarrass anyone.' The man walked out, waited several minutes, and then re-entered. The Receptionist smiled smugly and asked, 'Yes?' 'There's something wrong with my ear,' he stated. The Receptionist nodded approvingly and smiled, knowing he had taken her advice. 'And what is wrong with your ear, Sir?' 'I can't pee of it,' he replied. The waiting room erupted in laughter. Mess with seniors and you're going to lose! :rotf::rotf:

I had some tests on my ears today about 1 1/2 hours worth of very involved testing, due to the vertigo and dizziness I have been experiencing for the past 1 1/2 months. They believe there is a problem with a nerve that connects my ear to my brain that is not functioning all the time, he explained it as a short circuit in laymans terms, now I have to have an MRI of my ear to get a more detailed image of whats going on. It seems like I have been going to the Dr.'s for one thing or another for the past 3-4 months, next week or sometime before Xmas I have to go have an injection into my neck to try to alleviate the pain and discomfort I have be experiencing lately................when will it end.............???? But at least I have plenty of time since I am off on disability for the next 3-5 weeks. I guess it comes with getting to be a senior citizen.

NEWTrk (Phil) my husband has been talking for a couple of years about triking out his venture and yesterday he did it. He really did it. He put down his deposit for the Hannigan trike kit and in a couple of months it will all be over with and he'll be grinning from ear to ear. Look out here he comes - next will be retirement and then 48 states in 60 days...

Two Red Ears A blonde with two red ears went to her doctor. The doctor asked her what had happened to her ears and she answered, "I was ironing a shirt and the phone rang - but instead of picking up the phone I accidentally picked up the iron and stuck it to my ear." "Oh Dear!" the doctor exclaimed in disbelief. "But, what happened to your other ear?" "The jerk called back!"

I had bought a new helmet last fall and had it sitting on the bucket rack all winter. A friend and co-worker had seen it and asked me if I wanted my name on it. Sure, why not. Go for it. I knew he had done some pin stripeing and figured how much harm could he do. Oh, scratch that......dumb question. Dark thoughts there. But he came wandering in to work today carrying my helmet bag and grinning ear to ear. That was good to see 'cause I figured if he screwed it up he would be hiding from me. LOL! But I was more than a little surprised when I unzipped the bag and saw what he had done. Dang! Way past putting my name on it!!! Damn nice job in my eyes and he wouldn't take a dime for it. Pretty decent guy for all the razzing I give him about his bike. A Harley. Seems his hands quit shaking once he turns the bike off. Maybe I need to cut him some slack about his bike. Nah... no fun in that. I guess I'll have to force feed him a big ol' steak next time we ride out. A salute to "The Piper". Thanks my friend. The light in here wasn't the best today so the pics suffered a bit. Mike

I have an Edset system that I would like to use ear buds with. The Edset module has a 1/8 port that I think can be used for ear bubs. My ear bubs have a 3.5mm connector and that will not connect to the Edset. What am I missing. Adaptor or do some ear bubs have a 1/8 connector????? Hopefully someone can get me straight on this.

I just bought Edsets and installed them in my helmet and not entirely happy with the sound. I would like to try using ear bubs with them. The module has a 1/8 port on them. My ear bubs have a 3.5mm plug so they don't fit. Are ear bubs made with an 1/8 plug? Do I need an adaptor? I know some of you will have the answer Thanks,

Just a "heads up" for ya'll ... I bought an item on ebay today from i5motorcycle. It was a set of chrome fluid caps (brake and clutch). He had a couple different styles and another seller also listed them. The shipping charges on his 2 items varied by $6 and by $8 between him and the other seller. When I questioned him about the variance (over 2 emails), his 2nd reply was... _______________________________________________________________ Dear silvrt, Are you going to whine in my ear much longer? What do you want mre to do? Please keep the whining to yourself. - i5motorcycle _______________________________________________________________ Anyone else here have dealings with this seller? Perhaps you might want to NOT have any if this is his way of responding.

Many of you have read about my unending oil changes with little to no change in the ugly wine that got worse as the bike heated up. On my ride to the Flight 93 Memorial (180 miles) I was NOT at all annoyed with the wine. On the way home the bike was hotter ( could tell with my temp. gauge) and it did get slightly louder. Before I left home on Tuesday I had a problem with my right behind the ear hearing aid, wouldn't work correctly so I left with the left one only. Now it must be said that my right ear is the better of the 2 but I'm not deaf without it. The wine had dissipated to hardly noticeable both ways - what I have found since is that the right ear 'pitch' with the aid in is magnifying the wine. Wish I had found this about 4 or 5 oil changes ago. Could have saved a couple hundred $$$$$$ So, from now on I'll just ride w/o the right ear aid - problem solved !!

Any suggestion to boost ipod volumne on ear buds/RSTD/No Shield
Guest posted a topic in Watering Hole
I really want to hear Santana/Dave Clark Five/ Conway/Ten Years on my ipod/ear buds heading down the highway doin what a Royal Star does best. I wear a half helment with no front shield so the wind tends to drown out the high and lows. Any suggestion to get that music inside my head. Are there rheostats etc to increase ear bud volume. Ipod volume setting on these Sony ear buds ($85) is a joke when on the road. Thanks Max -
Woot is selling ear buds for $2.99 ea. I ordered 3 sets. Can never have enough ear buds with teenagers.... Earbuds WI-2300

The hubby and I got to take our first motorcycle ride of the season! Dressed in longjohns, enough leather to upholster a couch and snowmobile mittens, we pull up side by side at the first light in town after twenty exhilarating miles, grinning from ear to ear, and my husband asks "Was it as good for you as it was for me?" I laughed and ask "Got a cigarette?" I don't smoke, but it seemed appropriate...what a day! The ride was over much too soon, only 40 some odd miles round trip, yet we enjoyed it so much! 50 degrees, geese flying, grass starting to turn a little green...hard to believe it will probably snow tomorrow! Still, as the wise men say, sieze the carp! Or is that Carpe diem? Either way, sieze something! Teri and Erv

Ok first of all for those wondering about the water bill from last week. I got that taken care of. They do a special for leaks once a year. With any luck I won't have anymore leaks at all. Now for yesterday. Started off in the morning taking dog out for walk, kept feeling something like a hair by my ear. Tried pushing the hair away but still kept getting the same sensation. Well Turns out it wasn't a hair it was most likely a bug. Not sure what kind but it ended up in my left ear. Yeah I know don't ask how I have no idea. So yesterday I spent in the emergency room to get the darn thing out. Went to the one in Edenton because I've been to the other with someone else and spent 7 hrs there. I was there for a while maybe 45 mins got my vitals done then off to get the insurance stuff taken care of. Before I leave the nurse tells me 1 to 2 hrs most likely before I see the doc. Ok doen't sound bad if that's how long it takes. If you've ever spent any time in a hosptial emergency room you know what I mean. So after a little over 2 hrs I'm in the back waiting for the doc to come in. Now mind you this creature is in my ear for the whole time getting up the nerve to actually go to the hospital plus getting there and then waiting. So by now my ear really hurts. Doc get's out his light thing to look in my ear and says wow that's really far in there. So far doesn't sound good for me. So now we start the process of pulling the little bugger out. This is also really really painful. But I'm tough so no crying for me, but that pillow will never be the same. All he can get out is half the bug, yes I said half. Now comes the even more fun part of trying to flush the rest of it out of my ear. Talk about torture and it hurts too because my ear canal is extremely irritated as the doc tells me (wonder why). So he decides it's way too irritated to continue trying to get this thing out. I'm kinda relieved because my ear was hurting like hell at this point. He tells me I can come back in 3 days for him to get the rest out or try to make an appointment with the (mind the word the as in only one) ear nose throat guy in Elizabeth City. So I'm sitting here figuring if this is the only guy that does this he's gonna be really booked up. So I might as well head back to this doc he already knows what my ear looks like and knows I can handle the pain since they never give ya anything for this. He also gave me a prescription for these ear drops that are an anesthetic and something else. I'm hoping it makes what's left of this stupid bug really really easy to get out of my ear. I feel like my ears stuffed (which it is with the left over bug). Makes it kinda hard to hear out of too. So now I'm not sure I'm gonna make the meet in GA. I have no idea how long this is gonna take on thursday since I have to go back to the emergency room for this stuff. So I'll have to play that one by ear. Anyway I'm terrified of what next weeks gonna bring. I don't want to imagine what can happen because it seems if it's unusual and strange it's gonna happen to me. Margaret

Recently, I've been thinking about wearing ear plugs. No, not at the dinner table (although at times that might be a good option!!) but whilst riding. Does anyone here wear any and if so - in your opinion - what's the best type?

1" the best I can tell. Is this correct ? Thinking about adding some speakers and an amp for my tunes. I do not like the ear phones. Thanks any and everyone.... James

I'm heading out on a long trip soon and I'm trying to figure out a way to both protect my hearing from the wind noise and better hear my radio/XM under my helmet. I do not have speakers built into the helmet and listen VIA the built in stock speakers. the sound from the FM is fine but with the XM i can barely hear it at hi way speed. The sound just isn't loud enough. Does anyone have any experience with the the ear pieces that you can plug into the cassette audio output? Although I plug the XM into this so I'm not sure how this will work. I'm looking for something that others have used and feel work well. Thanks

I have a 83 venture that I'm fixing up. It has no radio. Has anyone tried putting a splitter on a MP3 player so the driver and passenger can listen to the same MP3 player with ear buds? Will it be load enough to hear or does it really need a amp? Thanks in advance. Jeff

Went riding with a friend who has a 1500 wing Wednesday and my new to me 83 venture amazed me again. Was merging onto the e-way with my friend right behind me and as I got on the e-way I gave it just a little more throttle and BOOM I was gone. I guess the best way to describe it, it was like opening up a nitrous bottle at 70mph. When we got off the e-way and stopped my friend looks at me and asks, what was that? I'm right with you and then you were just gone. Well on the way back I'm doing about 60 and decide to slowly roll on the throttle and see what it does. Just like before I get to "the sweet spot" and bam shes gone. Revs jumps up, massive power, and shes just flying. Is this how all these 1st gens run? Still grinning ear to ear just thinking about it.

Back in "the old days" when British sports cars had SU carbs, we used to stick a piece of rubber tubing in one ear, and pass the other end by the mouth of each carb, listening to make sure that the pitch of the air flow was the same. This method could be made absolutely accurate if, instead of putting the tubing in one's ear, he held it next to the microphone of an electronic guitar tuner, which would read out exactly what the pitch of the airflow is.

I got back on Sat night from Sturgis. I took a 63 year old virgin he had never been to the rally. He is still grinning from ear to ear like a kid in a candy store. On our first trip into town we were on our way back to camp 8 miles south of Sturgis someone tried to make a U turn in the middle of the road and got T boned by another bike. With having previous EMS and Law Enforcement background I took over the scene directed someone to get help (no cell service) and had 3 people direct traffic and assisted the victims. Both lived one was air lifted from the scene. In 14 years I have attended the rally this is the second accident that I have assisted with and I hope it is my last one. Lots of people stopped and helped out some people didn’t even ask what they could do they jumped in and did what needed to be done.
