Well, after much thought, I decided to let the Yamaha dealer rebuild the carbs for me (96 Tour Classic) as I did not have access to any "O" rings or gaskets or needles and seats and I didn't want to have to deal with that issue. Anyway, Carb rebuild ( mechanic couldn't get the seats out) replaced front tire ( that I supplied) flush the fuel tank, change oil and filters, and just about $825 dollars later, I got my bike back. OH ... yeah ... carbs are still leaking ... here we go on another nightmare. Gotta get it back to them again. Ahh... getting disgusted. As it is idling I can see it dripping from the carbs at a pretty good rate. What I don't understand is, why can't I duplicate this problem by simply turning the key on to "on" and letting the fuel pump fill the bowls. Why wouldn't there be enough fuel pressure to duplicate this with the motor off? I just have the feeling the dealer isn't going to take the time to really look at this the way I would have. I think the gas tank and air box has to come off and then somehow duplicate the leak when you can at least see the darned carbs. I'm so bummed. My wife and I got the bike home, got a baby sitter, hopped on the bike and after driving to the corner on our way to a nice ride, started smelling gas. Turned around, called off the babysitter, and really got bummed out......
