I have an 1987 Venture Royale and seem to replace my battery too often. Granted I do not ride it enough, so part of it is my fault. Anyway, if I were to go with a sealed battery it does not allow for my sensor. Then again what is the worst that will happen, the dummy warning will just blink all the time? I'd also like to get one soon rather than order it, so are there any common places to pick one up such as a K-Mart, Autozone, etc.?

I have what looks like a cigarette lighter on left fairing that says 12V-DC. There is nothing there as far as wires go. Is this a dummy plug or do they really need to let people know it's a 12V-DC system?

OK, I have only been riding my XVZ1200 for a couple of miles (50 perhaps) but I think the noice from the airbox is quite loud. I also have som intermittent howling from the rear that comes and goes as you lean the bike from side to side. Has anyone tried to put in some sound absorbing material under the tank dummy? The rear howling, is it perhaps bad bearings in the rear wheel?

I am having noise from the ignition (a ticking sound that varies with the rpms) in my radio or intercom. There is an item on ebay # 330302485789. Is this what I need and if so, where do I put it? Risky question but I'm willing to risk it for a good answer for this tech dummy. Iowa Guy

So I checked out Pinwall/eBay to no avail. I'm trying to find a replacement fuel sending unit for my 1997 RS. I don't have a gauge, just a dummy light...and when it comes to gas... I'm a dummy. (Just ask my wife how many times I've run out of gas less than 1/2 mile from the house.) I can't find the stupid sending unit without paying $70 for it... (add cheap to being a gas dummy) Anyone know where I can find one?

OK, I've lost another round of "Stump the Dummy." That'll be the subtitle to my autobiography one day, "King Loser of Stump the Dummy." I bought the Baron's 1.5" risers some time ago for my 03 RSV and am just now getting around to installing them--the garage and outside temperature are 38 degrees, plenty warm enough to do this simple job. To make a longer story shorter, there isn't enough slack in my cabling to allow the handlebars to slip into the risers. Oh, sure, I could hook a come-along to 'em and the garage wall, coul put it all back together and drop it off at the dealer, or I could even take Baron's up on their guarantee. BUT, before I do any of these, I wanted to check and see if there's a trick to this, or if the temperature is too cool to allow the lines to limber up enough, or is there a clamp I cannot see that's holding things up? Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated. Snakebit.
