OK. I've added some red flexible LED strips to the chrome pieces behind the saddlebags on my 2nd Gen Venture to augment my brake lights, but, I can't get them to work. I know the strips work because when I connect them directly to the battery, they work. I tried wiring them to the yellow wire (brake) & a black ground wire to no avail. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks.

If Bret Favre had a 1st Gen. VR, he could have pushed it forward about 6 or 7 yards in the GAPING HOLE he had directly in front of him, instead of passing that darned interception!!

Not sure if anyone else is getting these or not but I've received 2 e-mails from appears to be Paypal. Something about someone was using my account fraudently. Both e-mails were very professional in appearance with none of the typical misspellings when it comes to phishing e-mails. I didn't hit the links but e-mailed paypal directly from their website. They responded back very quick saying that the e-mails were indeed fake and they were aware of them and are working on them. Just a warning here.

Check out this wind chime that a friend made for me. He actually used a picture of a venture off the net to make the pattern. They are made of OAK, very good workmanship. If your interested contact Richard directly at mrcamper43@sbcglobal.net make sure you put WINDCHIME in the subject line or he will not open the email.

I'm considering a purchase this week of a carbtune pro from morgan directly. is this a good decision or is it better to go through a local distributor? If local any suggestions? Thanks, Big Mike

In the past I thought I saw a Aux terminal box hooked near the battery for all the gadgets that are installed. I would like to make it so I have less hooked directly to the battery. (kinda make it pretty in that area) OR anybody have any idea's? Anybody remember were the post or write-up was? Thanks, Jeff

I believe this to be a generic electrical question, though this will be applied to 1st gen Venture... want to add a 12v accessory plug, directly wired from the battery through an on/off switch. (1) Should negative be grounded to the bike or should it be run back to the negative batt terminal on the battery? (i'm sure both would work, but what is best?) (2) As far as switches go, how do I make sure and get one that can handle the load. I'm sure they are rated and I know it's 12v but I think amps is what I should be looking for? Ya, electrical stuff, even the simple, has always eluded me. I would rather look ignorant and ask than look stupid after I fry something

Has anyone successfully installed a J&M handlebar CB on their RSTD. I've been working with a friend and fellow member here to install one of the units on his Tour Deluxe. It was fairly easy to install but there is an incredible amount of engine noise in the system. To the point of being unusable. Initially we connected the power through a relay triggered by the aux accessory wire under the seat with the ground directly to the battery. After contacting J&M they suggested not to connect directly to the batter and to tie the positive lead into the tail light circuit and the ground wire directly to the frame. We did that also and it made a slight improvement but the noise is still very annoying. The SWR has not been set and J&M says to set that also. Woud the SWR have any effect on picking up engine noise? I am not a radio expert but that seems unlikely to me. I would be interested in others experiences with this system. Thanks, Dennis

Hey there, Has anyone ever attempted to pull of the Lowers on the RSTD? I just recently purchased my 06 and hadn't had it 3 days and took it back due to the whine. "I" basket is supposed to be here this coming Tuesday and I have my fingers crossed. Anyway, when I went riding the day after I bought it.. man it got warm down there by my feet and legs. So I started looking around and saw that it looks like the only things there, which would require relocation or mounting of some sort are the following: Fuse box, a box that looks like a ecu, brake res, and the intake air filters. Seeing that I thought ok.. Just mount a K&N set up directly to the unit right up under the gas tank and then either build a little box to house the ECU and Fuse box in. Outside of that, I am not seeing anything major unless of course I am missing something. Would be SO Nice to have the flexiblity of putting on and removing as needed based on weather conditions. So anyone tried this yet? Thanks, Buckey:cool10::detective:

Any chance anyone out there knows of a trunk (or even the top half of one) for a white 1988 Venture Royale someone would part with? A friend of mine is restoring one he recently rescued. If so, please contact him directly at maleneym@aol.com (or reply here and I'll pass the messages along). Thanks!

OK, it seems that we as a group are buying quite a few Odyssey batteries, and I thought I'd toss out this idea on doing a group buy like we've done in the past. I called the Westcoast distributor for Odyssey, and because I've bought directly from them in the past my business is already set up as a dealer even though I've only bought for personal use. They are going to have a price increase right after the first so I can't quote prices yet, but can after the first. There's no way we could put together a group order in only a couple of days. Sorry I didn't think of this sooner...??? The group buy price will be based on 10 units minimum, and any mix of the PC680MJ (1stGen) or PC545 (2ndGen) batteries. There's also a question of a possible drop ship directly from the distributor which could save a few more bucks over all. More on that later. So, is there any interest from the board?? If not, that's OK, just thought I'd ask....

If I have a bluetooth receiver on my helmet, is there anyway to use it with the CB on the Venture? or is the only way to use the Venture systems to wirre in directly.

Kuryakin has highway pegs for Goldwings so you can stretch you legs out. Will these fit on a 1st generation? I need something with an extension. The little bitsy pets that fit directly to the engine guard just don't do it for me. Are there alternatives?

Here's a repost on my idea for a lift frame for the RSV & RSTD bikes. It's similar to the lift adapter Landpig posted but made of steel and attaches directly to the bikes frame. It won't work for those who have mounted a center stand as my adapter attaches directly to the center stand tabs on the bike. There may be a way to alter the lift frame but I haven't worked on one yet. The drawing may be a bit hard to see so if anyone wants a full size copy e-mail me and I'll be happy to send one. I'll also offer to build one for those who don't have the skills or equipment to do so. I'll have to work out the details on costs later. Larry

Ok folks; I have a question concerning the xm roady ll as far as connecting it to the second gen. I am currently playing mine through the cassette deck for the digital sound. My question is; is there another way to listen to it digitally other than the cassette deck and other than the radio frequency? It seems that I heard of some one connecting it directly to the wiring of the stereo, but I am not sure. If anyone know's of this, or another way of connecting it, I sure would appreciate the info. Jet man
