Front brake light switch
coltrain posted a topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
My front brake handle - mastery cyl isn't generating my brake light. I have looked on bikebandit parts diagrams to purchase the new switch and lo and behold I picked the wrong part. Diode? Anyways, was wondering if anyone had the right part number for this bad boy before I throw anymore money away! -
OK guys, I need some expert electrical help. For Christmas I bought LED turn signal inserts from Custome Dynamics. I already had the Run-Stop-turn from Kuryakyn for the back so the rear hooked up and worked perfectly. The front are another story. I also bought the load equalizer and diode kit from Kuryakyn. Both installed easily. Here are the problems. The turn indicator is always on when I connect the diode to ground acording to the instructions. The front lights come on as running lights but they go out and dont flash when I select either turn. At the same time the rear flash fast. If I remove the diode and reinstall the original front bulbs the rear LED lights flash normal. I read and followed all the instructions (maybe my first problem). Is ther something I'm missing or is my wiring different? Any help or possible solutions will be entertained.

I'm working on a '86'vr that I bought as a parts bike. The dealer said that it would only run if they poured gas down the carbs. He didn't want to mess with it. Turns out the fuel pump relay had some thing rattling around inside it, cut it open and found little electrical stuff burned off. Question 1. Can I use the Class relay in place of fuel relay? It plugs right in and runs the fuel pump but, it looks way different than the correct relay. (I'm eliminating the Class system) Question 2. Is the diode in the starting circuit essential or can it be bypassed? When in neutral the start button wouldn't work I pull the clutch lever, button works. Tested diode D2 not working properly shows infin. on both poles D1 ok resister read 8.3 omhs. When I jump the D2 poles the start button works fine. Mike

Hey you Electrical Engineers- can't I add a diode from radio shack to drop the voltage or regulate pulsing a little in my 2 (55watt) driving lights I added to my ride? The first one only lasted 15-20 hours. i suspect the real culprit was the incesssant shaking...but a small drop in voltage may help!??? I know ohms law but you guys have thought this out better I'm sure.

About 1/3 of the lights are out in the trunk rear spoiler on my 04 midnight. Anyone know were I can order the diode strip without having to replace the whole thing?

I just wired in a 6 fuse aux panel and the Stebel air horn. Man, that thing is loud. Carbon Ones bracket worked perfectly. I mounted the relay under the right side battery cover by doubleside taping it to the area just below that little round looking diode thingy. Fits in there real nice. Now that your all as excited as I am, I think ill go to bed.....
