need to know more about lowering kit for my '04 RSV. Short legs are making things difficult with the little woman sitting behind me. She sits so high, its difficult to keep bike upright when we come to a stop. Would lowering the rear help? Where do I buy the Baron's kit, how much, how dificult to install etc.? Thanks

Charlene had her first ride on our trike, she thoroughly enjoyed it, said she was comfortable on it, and felt more at ease knowing I wouldnt have to support the bike with both of us on it. I think she will be riding a lot more with me now that there are three wheels under us. We did about a 20 mile loop around town, some country roads and just had a nice slow ride. This weekend I will be bleeding and flushing the clutch, noticed a couple of difficult down shifts and had some difficult finding neutral a couple of times. I opened the resevior for the clutch and the fluid was murky brown...........gotta take care of that. All and all she is very happy about the trike and that makes me extremely happy:dancefool:!

Good afternoon everyone, Both hi and low beam on my 08 RSV went out last week. I have been reading the threads on this problem and have done the starter switch lube and fuse checking. I have read there might be a possibility of the Reserve Light Unit going bad but how often is this a problem? I'm not sure as to what direction to take at this point. Its difficult to get to the headlight lamp but is it possible for both hi and low to go bad in one lamp? Any suggestions would be helpful. By the way, everything else is working fine, it's just the headlight. Thanks Frank

Made it 700 miles from Marietta GA to Ft. Lauderdale no problem. But when I pulled off the exit yesterday after the last 120 miles, my clutch was about gone. Very loose play in the clutch, and obviously very difficult to shift. Had to limp it in the last 8 miles in 2nd gear. I let it cool down and checked the reservoir and it was full, and checked it again this morning, and it seems to be back up to the normal pressure on the clutch handle. But still seems more difficult to shift. Any ideas as to what might be causing this to happen? We leave on a cruise today and return Saturday, and then leave for the 700 mile return trip to GA. I'm hoping someone may have some experience with this particular situation and can recommend a quick fix for me to get it home (other than the obvious rental car and trailer route!) Thanks.

Hello everyone Has anyone ridden or bought this beastie? My main question is - does it have the same "chirp/whine/noise" as the Venture? I'm thinking of this as a second bike but I really don't want any more Yammy noises!!! ps - somewhat difficult around here to get a test ride.

Are there keyboard commands that can be used for previewing and submitting posts? I don't see any, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. Or if they don't, would that be too difficult to add?

I am experiencing some vibration in the front wheel at high speeds (over 80) I have been told that is due to deflection in the forks. So, I am considering this fork brace (http://www.americanmotorcycleaccessories.com/proddetail.asp?prod=AMA1100) does anyone know how difficult they are to install? Thanks

Do the passing lamps make opening the fairing more difficult?

OK, I've always been told that the proper length for CB coax should be done in 3' increments, with the optimal length being 18'. I've heard that if you cut your coax in lengths shorter than 18', setting your SWR's would be at best difficult if not impossible. So my question is, if I wish to put a CB on my bike, do I need to find a place to stuff 18' of coax?

On my 2000 Venture when I toe shift through the gears it is difficult to shift. I have a couple of friends with Ventures ( a 2005 and a 2006) and they shift with ease. About like my Road Star. I have no idea why mine is more difficult to shift. Is it the oil that I am using? I haven't changed the fluids since I bought it. I've ridden about 3000 miles since I have owned it and I was told by the previous owner he had just change the oil when I bought it. Maybe something mechanical? I have no issue shifting but it does begin to wear on your leg after 4 or 5 hours of riding. Any ideas?

Working on the brakes on my '87 Royale today. The rear pads were down so I replaced them. I also checked the fronts but they were O.K. I did notice on all the brakes that the calipers were partially extended and the pads were against the discs, making it a bit difficult to get them off the disc. Should they not be more or less fully retracted when the brakes are not being applied?

Is there anyway to reduce the tension in the clutch lever making it easier to pull? I'm starting to get arthritis in the hand and it's making it more difficult. Can't give up those long trips.

OMG! What a difference. I use to have a slow starter once the bike was hot. Comtemplated replacing the starter or at least removing it and cleaning it out like is recommended somewhere on this site. But I thought I'd try the battery cable upgrade first. Wow! What a difference. No matter how hot things get, even on the hottest days around here in Texas, starts right up like it is the first start that morning. I am really impressed. If all you 1st gen owners haven't upgraded to the larger battery cables, I highly recommend you get after it right away. I at first thought it would be a difficult task but the entire procedure only took less than two hours and a little bit of vaseline. AND, I didn't have to mess around with pulling that extremely difficult starter.

I am really tired of bleeding my clutch and besides I don't think this is my problem anymore. Ever since the Barnett clutch, I have a really hard time finding neutral. If in first, I seem to pass through neutral and end up in second. If in second, I seem to always go right past neutral straight into first. The lever seems really difficult to move as well. This is the case when the motor/tranny is hot. If cold works like new. I have bled the clutch fluid several times and am confident there is no air nor old fluid left. There are no leaks at all, everything is dry. What else could be wrong? Could it be the Amsoil synthetic? Need some advise.

This would be the ideal gift for your rider friends. It is the 22,000 mile trip around the world through some of the difficult terrain you have ever seen, through Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and Siberia. Once you start watching this you can't stop.

Help! My 88 Venture has MAJOR steering problems... I basically can't turn the handlebars, and get a grinding and almost ratcheting sound/feel when trying to turn. Is this the main steering head bearing? How difficult are these to replace, or should this be done by a shop? Thanks, Scott
