  1. Just downloaded the Mad Maps for Garmin. They have the US on sale now for $25 (reg $30). Still exploring what has been added to my Zumo after downloading Mad Maps but a neat feature under Extra's is you can pick a state and sorted by distance from your current location it will tell you what is in the State plus "more" gives you details about the sights. Haven't played around with it enough yet to know if it also downloads their routes but at $25 for all of the U.S. States it is a good deal. Anyone else use the gps version of Mad Maps ? Too bad they don't have Canada too !
  2. I wont go into the details, you have to read it yourself to believe it................ http://poststar.com/lifestyles/columns/natl/crivenbark/ladies-shaving-and-driving-don-t-mix/article_82347576-37b8-11df-ae3d-001cc4c03286.html

  4. Hi all, I am planning to convert my Motorvation Formula II to a flip nose configuration. Although I have a few ideas percolating in my head I am looking for some photos of an original factory setup. Of particular interest is the hinge mechanism details and the design of the sealing surface arrangement at the joints. This is not going to be a piece of cake, but my wife cannot climb in and out of the car as is. Any help with as much details as possible will be greatly appreciated.
  5. i posted pictures of how the bike looks now after some cleaning. still thinking of selling the old girl. have to get it out from around back. and put tags on her. she still fires up good but just not right? will idle after a little warm up. but pops? maybe new plugs? and im sure it needs a carb sync. PO said he never new how to do it? as you can see from the pics she needs a good paint job. usual cracks. i did replace most of the fairing trim around the radio speekers on both sides i have 2 sets of side panels one set needs paint but has the chrome on them. new tires 2 years ago dunlop 404.s i will go into further details should i make the leap to sell it. i would trade for a smaller bike no less then a 450cc just to get my ride in for this season. well enough for now check out the pics in my profile and if any one wants to make an offer feel free to shoot me a PM

  14. Hi all! A new member here with a question for the guys who know. I unseized the pistons, cleaned the calipers, polished the bores and pistons with 2000 Wet O Dry but I think the seals are shot. I actually believe them to be the originals. Haha. The Question: Where do you get your caliper rebuild kits and what do they come with, IE: pins, pistons, dust seals, etc? Any details would help! Chris

He has not been seen or heard from since. We have reason to believe he may have gone missing Monday (he was due into Denver Wednesday). He was riding a black 2008 Goldwing, Colorado Plate #327-UTH." 18. Once again this year I will be participating in the Ontario B.E.A.T Cancer Ride (Bikers Ending All Types of cancer) I want to let our local members know about the ride, which will taking place Sept 27, 2009. The ride starts from Turtle Jack's on Fairview street in Burlington. Registration is 9:30 am. Last year I was on the executive committee for this ride, and raised over $3500 for the cause. This year I was not able to participate in that capacity, however I still will be riding for the cause. I have a personal page set up with the cancer society where you can find details about the ride, and more importantly you can pledge a few dollars online to the ride. Every little bit helps. I hope some of our local members will be able to join me that day for the ride, and I am hopeful that some of you will be generous, and help me raise some funds for a great cause, that touches far too many of us very close to home. The link to my site is below. Thank you, Sonny http://convio.cancer.ca/goto/sonnyrattan
  19. We had two on a motorcycle killed Wednesday when an SUV came around a curve and sideswiped another vehicle and then hit a motorcycle head on. I have not seen any more details, but I was just thru that same road Saturday. The Smokey Mountain area is a wonderful place to ride a motorcycle, but sometimes your paying attention is just not enough. RandyA
  20. It's the unofficial start of riding season in Dodge County, WI. Our ABATE region has had an entry in this parade for better than 20 years. With the rain coming tomorrow to wash off the roads, and the predicted 46 degrees, and the looong winter, we should get a nice turnout again this year. We've had as many as 80 bikes on a little warmer years. Parade starts at 1, downtown party afterwards. If anyone here wants to join us, and would like more details, let me know. Later, Scooter Bob and Karen P.S. since I'm the Regional Rep, the ABATE group bike ride through the parade will be led by our 05 midnite with an 8 foot flag pole on the hitch.

  22. There have been some recent requests for the VentureRider flags. We have been out of these for some time now and it was time to make them available again. Details are in the VentureRider Merchandise forum area at: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?p=285603#post285603
  23. you haven't seen the thread in the M&E section, the final North GA M&E of 2008 is this Saturday: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=29931 It is not an all-day event this time, given the demands of the holiday season, which will hopefully make it possible for you to attend (bring the family, by boat, plane, train, whatever it takes!). Please read the thread for more details, and be sure to join us if you can. After all, you can't party if you're not there! I hope you can make it... Terry
  24. First off, we have moved home base to Athens, Texas. The Lake O' the Pines was nice to ride but amenities were missing. No places at ALL to eat and pretty low rooms. I think Masterguns and I both looked for Roger the Roach. We actually cancelled our rooms and went to Athens after talking to Mavrick over supper. Athens is closer to the railway. Also, the ride to the depot will include one of Ride Texas' 10 best voted roads. Not a tail of the dragon, but really nice. Sorry for the delay on this. We could not get a camping spot with a close motel. In Athens there is the State Freshwater Fishing Conservation. It has huge aquariums and displays ( can also fish and release with supplied equipment). Also a great outdoor Arboretium nearby. Lots to do and see. A bit far from Caddo Lake and the paddleboat. We could go up on Friday if a group wishes. Saturday will be the ride and the train ride. I will have the group details on this in a day or so. The ride starts in Palestine on the 18th. There is a box lunch available (checking the price). The individual price is $38.00 per person without the lunch. I am working with them for a group rate. I will post more about the trip as we see the reservations chime in. Please reply to the below listed link in the regional rally section so we can get a head count. See here for the reservation and lodging details http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=27185 THanks to all. JB
  25. So, I was prodded today to update the October 18th Stampede details. I am planning on riding to East Texas this coming weekend to get solid details. I realize I haven't been prolific on the upcoming meet. My job and other obligations have kept me off the road more than I might like. My plans for the labor day weekend went out the window with the lack of parts. The bike is back together and ready to run. And I used the extra time to make a new workbench and set up the Mocha Lair for tearing apart bikes. I hope to leave Friday and drop into Houston for a visit. Then on to East Texas. If anyone is up for a road trip, give me a yell. JB
