Hello Everyone: Very pleased with Bernie and HER staff at Precision Cycles in Denver yesterday. We drove 4 hours one way to find a cycle store large enough to offer several different selections of "IN STOCK" helmets and accessories. The entire staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about their large selection of products. We purchased new MATCHING Nolan N103 helmets with intercoms. We will likey be a repeat customer!

Hi Guys, I'm looking for any advice anybody might have about a good shop in the Denver area. I live in Florida but I keep my RSV at the GF's house out there and I don't have any experience with any dealers in the area. I'd like a good shop, preferably a Yamaha dealer, to go over my rear end. I just don't spend enough time out there to do it myself. I don't see any active members listed in the area, but if anyone has any knowledge to share I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Where do you think Peyton Manning will end up? Lets hear your reasons...... I actually think he may end up in Denver. Tebow although a gamer etc. isnt a true QB that makes you say I want to stake the next 5 or 10 years into him. Manning will win over the fan base to make the Tebow thing not so overblown. But most important, Denver is in a weak division right now, and in the AFC. Manning wont go NFC, because he would have to play his brother before the Super Bowl if he did go NFC. Free agents will come to wherever he decides, and Denver does have enough of a running game without Tebow to compliment what Manning would need. my sleeper team nobody talks about......Houston Texans

The Bruces are heading for Yellowstone this fall via Denver from the UK. I wondered if any of you venturers out there have any tips on route options and things to see going and coming back from Yellowstone and the Tetons. We intend to take two days going (possibly north up to the Bighorns?) and 4 days coming back (via flaming gorge, Dinosaur etc). Also are there things to see around Denver?, we may have a couple of days free at the end of the holiday. We are both geologists so after Grand Canyon, Yellowstone is a must. We’ve got accommodation in the parks but otherwise we will probably book as we go or just before. Thanks for any suggestions.

I haven't had time for much riding but spent the last weekend around Kootenay lake in the BC interior. This pic was taken in Kaslo by a hamburger stand! Great roads through the area: New Denver, Creston, Lumby. The stretch from Nakusp to Lumby has partially been repaved and is smooth as silk!!!!!!

Well I rolled in to the homestead at 10:00PM last night with 15 hours on the bike (not counting gas breaks and eating). Pulled a trailer from North Branch MN to Denver then up to the Black Hill of North Dakota then over across the plans to Home. I met Daryle and his nice wife in Larchwood Iowa on the way out and I met BigJohn in Denver. On the way home I met OB-1 and his nice wife up in Sundance Wy, We all went out to dinner together and shot the BS. All were VERY nice people and all love bikes and especialy Ventures. So whats not to like????? I spent a day hacking around the Black Hills, saw Mount Rushmore, drove the canyon (not to miss) but unfortunatly didn't get to the Neddles canyon and where ever the buffalo are. Sorry I didn't call OB-1 to go for a ride for the day but I just hacked around locally and was going here and there without a real plan. I was fortunate that I never really hit rain on the way out or on the way back, some sprinkles but no out and out rain. Well I take that back, while I was visiting with Daryle and his wife I rained like cats and dogs but since I was visiting and indoors I didn't count that. It cleared and I was able to get another 100 miles on before calling it a day. All the way out and all the way back no matter who I talked to, biker, shop keeper, cagers, cashiers they were all just great, friendly and polite. EXCEPT the one cashier in Cheyene WY that had a personality of of a cornered bobcat with someone poking it with a stick. I finally had enough of her being rude to all the customers ahead of me and when she pulled that crap on me I told her she needed to get a personality. As I walked away I mumbled to myself what a B!tch, I thought I heard from behind " I heard that". While I hope she did mabey she will get a handle on waiting on people. Yes I know it can be a SOB dealing with people all day but she needed to treat people a whloe lot better. OH YA! the equipment failure....... Well.... when I was in Nebraska getting lost I noticed that my rear tire was looking thin so when I got to Denver I had it replaced at Coyote Yamaha. they put on a Dunlope 404 and the bonus was the whine from the original tire disapeared to. But that wasn't the failure........ the failure was while in the Black hills I had to use my Strebel horn on a cager. Well it sounded ok for a split second or so then it sounded like it was being strangled (and still does) I havn't used it much and am diasapointed that a failure of this type occurs after a less than 10 seconds total use. So thats my story and I'm sticking to it! I am spending the day recovering from yesterdays ride. Good to be back and safe riding to all who are on the road. Bubber aka Steve Stelter

I am throwing out an invitation to a meet and eat. I have not met anyone in the site, so it is high time to get it done. We will meet up at Jaliscos on 104th, a little west of I-25. Look for Red Lobster or Wingmans, it is in the shoppette west of them. It is the best Mexican in the Denver area. Reasonable prices and great food. Anyway, I offered to buy Bubber dinner while he is in town...so I hope he shows. The rest of you can just wander in...no need to RSVP. We will be gathering around 5:30PM. See you there...just look for the big guy...

Greetings one & all, My name is Dan Bollacker. I live in Denver (Littleton) Colorado. I rode in the late 60's until the early 80's. Sold the bikes to raise the fam. Kids are on their own now. In 2004 I got back on a new 1300 VTX which I accessorized quite heavily. Last year I found this site while doing research on bikes that would be more comfortable especially over longer distances. Last year at "Thunder Mountain" (rally at Loveland, CO) I test rode all the brands. Later when Victory came to town with their road show, I drove one. In my opinion the RSV came out on top for all the same reasons mentioned on this site. I had to have blue. Tried to buy a new 07 last September but the bank & could not get close enough. I was bummed. Kind of gave up. I was not all that displeased with the VTX. The flame rekindled after the first of the year. I would check around from time to time. Found a used 07 with 5000 miles in Florence, CO. Where the heck is that. To my surprize I discovered this cool dealership in this small rural community about 100 miles southwest of Denver. They pride themselves on their customer service. They are THAT good. We made the deal ant the rest has been up hill all the way. This site is amazing and way beyond helpful. I've been implementing many of the things covered in this site. Thanks everyone! Especially to the fore founders whom have done all the grunt work so that us newbees have a much smoother road to travel. Hope I did'nt bore you to tears. Thanks again, Dan in Denver. 07 RSV Crystlblu

I am returning to riding after 26 years and a first time venture rider, just bought an 83 Venture and was out for my first ride Sunday in the mountains west on Denver. Unlike San Diego where the weather is much the same every day the weather in Denver is like the old joke “if you don’t like the weather just wait 15 minutes” So the ride started out Hot and Dry and ended Wet and Cold. I was very pleased with the fairing design with kept me very dry until visibility and traffic slowed me to about 35 MPH and the rain fell on the top cover being the wind screen. Water rolls to the lowest point which happens to be the front of the seat… So I got off the bike dry except for the outside of my knees and arms and looking like I wet my pants. So other than not riding in the rain does anyone have any words of wisdom for overcoming this interesting design “feature” Thanks in advance.
