I got an email showing that Star Demo Days will be in Sturgis again this year. I read all the way through the list of bikes available to test and noticed no Venture AGAIN........I think you can go to the yamaha website and see the list. Click on news and events on the top header. Then click display and demo schedule. It shows places and lists the bikes available to test ride.

I've always said that I wouldn't want a Lambo or Ferrari, etc., but I would sure like to drive one once. Well, I've said the same about the Boss Hoss cycles and I may get the chance this weekend. My BIL and our wives are renting a cabin up near Paris Landing State Park, TN and going to the Boss Hoss national rally. They are having factory demo rides and I'm going to see if I can get a ride. Something to do for the weekend. If I do get a demo my last words may be... "Watch this!"

Went to the Gastown motorcycle show 'n Shine yesterday. Loads of amazing bikes there and so many people came out as the weather was hot. Sorry, no pics...forgot the camera at home. ENNYHOO ... Honda Canada was doing demo rides so Nina & I got to take a spin on a Wing. Now this was the second time I rode a newer Wing but the first time for Nina to ride. Most of the demo was in heavy city traffic but did get to see how it handled on the highway and in corners as well...even a tight 90 degree one at 3 times the posted limit (which was 20 km/h) and I think I dragged something on that one! Well, for those who have one, you know what I'm talkin about here. This bike is nothing short of a breeze to drive. It takes the corners effortlessly. It weaves thru heavy traffic on the freeway without even thinking about it. I looked where I wanted to go and it was if the scoot read my mind because in a flash, I was there. And the POWER!!! It's awesome! Slow speed balance is far superior to our RSMV ... even just coming to a stop ... I could practically come to a full stop and not even put my foot down... Oh yeah, and REVERSE sure was nice getting it back into the parking spot! The downside ... and I only have two. Nina found the seat too "recliner style" ... if that makes any sense. She prefers to sit up straighter but the seat seemed to force her to slouch. ... no biggie... we can fix that. In opposite, I found the seat caused me to sit up straighter ... but that is ok except the handlegrips were lower than I like ... again, no biggie... we can fix that. So, in as much as WE like our RSMV .... sometime before next summer it will most likely be replaced with a WING. See ya at that other "dark side".

For anyone interested in test riding a new Yamaha, here's the Demo Days schedule for this year: http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/mcy/demo.aspx It's because of free rides at demo days that my wife and I bought our RSV. Just like a drug dealer: give a taste for free and they'll come back with money! Only more healthy, of course. Maybe we can convert a few more 1st gen folks.

A local dealer has an '08 RSV for $15,988. This is a demo bike with 4000 km and first service done. Wondering what your thoughts are about this? Is buying a demo risky? Does the price sound good (seems to be for here in Canuck land). If anyone's wondering, we've ruled out buying a new '09 Ultra... just can't work it into our budget so, the search is on for a really good RSV. I found an '05 on Van Island (asking $14000) and an '06 RSMV in Calgary (asking just under $14) that I'm looking into. Considering the price of the '08 and what the guys are asking for the other 2, .... the '08 is tempting.

Posted a few pics of the new Ion trailer I bought last week. Been looking for a while at various makes, models & styles. Loved this teardrop style from the get-go but wasn't sure about pricing. While checking around I found a local dealer who just happened to have a demo available at a price I couldn't refuse. Here's a couple of links to web sites for those who may be interested. --- http://www.jemanufacturing.com/ http://www.golittleguy.com/cms/component/option,com_zoom/Itemid,77/catid,31/ Larry

I like to go to m/c dealers just to look at bikes, both new and used. sometimes they will let me ride one if they are not busy. What three bikes would you like to "demo" just for fun, not to buy but because you are curious. Mine is the Rocket III, Harley Road Glide, and the Valkyrie.
