I have seen the "fly and ride" rental ads on the internet, but I love our RSTD with the mods we have made. And, it seems to me that it would be cheaper for a 1 - 2 week tour to ship the bike, pick it up and use it for the vacation, bring it back, have it shipped back, etc, than the cost of renting a bike. We are in Delaware and both employed so considering going cross country (which would be great!) is out of the range of our vacation days! But, we might be able to afford to ship the bike, buy econo plane tickets both ways and do something really great! Has anyone done this?

It is too late for this year, as the 2012 Punkin' Chunkin' is happening this next weekend, just outside Bridgeville, Delaware. http://www.punkinchunkin.com/ And, with Sandy bearing down on that area, it would not be wise to attempt to chunk punkin's in a hurricane wind...although...a new world record could be set, if the wind is going in the right direction. So...to the point...if someone that lives close to Bridgeville, Delaware wants to host the 2013 gathering of forum riders for this event, I will be happy to ride the 3000+ miles to this event to party with the punkin's.

My wife and I are going to Delaware in a few weeks for a mission trip with the Church. That trip will take 6 days. I'm off for 2 1/2 weeks so I'm going to trailer the bike up. I want to leave Delaware and find a place where I can ditch the truck and ride for a few days. We want to see Niagra falls and any other interesting places around the area. We don't like crowded roads and will do almost anything to stay off the interstates. Any ideas will be helpful. Thanks in advance. PS I'm located in Tuscaloosa Alabama

I took my wife to the cycle shop this evening and she could not get up into the VENTURE. She has knee problems and I was willing to buy this bike if we could ride together. But in the end she could not. I will be buying a smaller cruiser that is lower to the ground. But indeed I want to thank all of you for the answers, suggestions, advice, knowing you were dealing with someone that does not have alot of expierance with this type of bike, yet you have treated me like you have been my friend for a lifetime and we have had many miles under our belts together. This is a great site and I have learned more reading this site than any other and will subscribe to this site for only 1 reason. You have made me feel part of a family not a step child you had to deal with. Also there is a bike load of information that is plain fun to read and learn. So while I might not be riding a VENTURE, the next time your in Delaware and drive by a blue VTX1300 smile and wave. For when I ride past a VENTURE It will remind me of this site and a warm fuzzy with encoumpass me. (DO NOT TELL THE GUYS IN THE MAINTENANCE SHOP ABOUT THE WARM FUZZY!) Thanks to all, Mike from Delaware

Blue Knights had a meet in W Va this weekend over near blackwater falls. Saw a silver 2nd Gen and thought for sure it was Skid - but - the license plate was from Delaware. Who are you?
