Just curious about mixing a radial ct on the rear and a bias ply on the front. I remember stories about how dangerous that was on a CAR - what about our bike ?

This is one of many videos we run. Sort of puts things in perspective when coming upon a emergency scene on the roadways and are especially dangerous for bike riders. People are focused on whats going on and not what is in front of them. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQxZClobIdU&feature=related]YouTube - "It's no Picnic"[/ame]

This morning I rode in to work and was given a gift by the city of a surprise of loose gravel on pavement by the city. Right on a highway off ramp. I made it to work safe, and decided that the only way to get things done is to be noisy. I decided to email the mayor and politely described what was wrong and how a simple sign warning me would have made the highly dangerous situation his guys caused a less dangerous one. I also informed him that another motorcyclist may get seriously hurt if they don't get a sign posted right away. I also let city officials know about sand on the roads and other problems that make a road incredibly dangerous to a motorcycle. Do you? are you your community's Squeaky wheel that complains about dangers and dangerous roads?

I just built a small pull behind trailer. Are safety chains required on motorcycle trailers? It seems dangerous to me. If the trailer comes unhitched, it's flopping around by the chains and would cause you to crash. Any insight?

Up here in Canada we are real tough on drivers. In today's (Feb 28) Victoria Times Colonist newspaper. Jodee Hanson 42, was found not guilty of dangerous driving causing the death of a motorcyclist and not guilty of dangerous driving causing bodily harm to the motorcycle passenger, who required surgery and missed several weeks of work. Instead she pled guilty to driving without due care and attention. She got a $1500 fine and a four month suspension of her driving license. All she did was tailgate a minivan, pull out across a double solid line, cut a corner and kill a motorcyclist. The kicker is that she has had 18 driving convictions including 10 moving violations and 7 speeding tickets. One of the violations occurred after the accident. Four months before the accident she was pulled over for speeding in a school zone. She has also been in 9 accidents. She is the community relations representative for McDonald's restaurants in Victoria. She turned on the tears in court and said the accident had a major impact on her..... awww....poor baby!

RULES OF THE AIR 1. Every takeoff is optional. Every landing is mandatory. 2. If you push the stick forward, the houses get bigger. If you pull the stick back, they get smaller. That is, unless you keep pulling the stick all the way back, then they get bigger again. 3. Flying isn't dangerous. Crashing is what's dangerous. 4. It's always better to be down here wishing you were up there than up there wishing you were down here. 5. The ONLY time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire. 6. The propeller is just a big fan in front of the plane used to keep the pilot cool. When it stops, you can actually watch the pilot start sweating. 7. When in doubt, hold on to your altitude. No-one has ever collided with the sky. 8. A 'good' landing is one from which you can walk away. A 'great' landing is one after which they can use the plane again. 9. Learn from the mistakes of others. You won't live long enough to make all of them yourself. 10. You know you've landed with the wheels up if it takes full power to taxi to the ramp. 11. The probability of survival is inversely proportional to the angle of arrival. Large angle of arrival, small probability of survival and vice versa. 12. Never let an aircraft take you somewhere your brain didn't get to five minutes earlier. 13. Stay out of clouds. The silver lining everyone keeps talking about might be another airplane going in the opposite direction. Reliable sources also report that mountains have been known to hide out in clouds. 14. Always try to keep the number of landings you make equal to the number of take offs you've made. 15. There are three simple rules for making a smooth landing. Unfortunately no-one knows what they are.

Looking through this month's Motorcycle Cruiser and there was an article comparing the H-D Rocker with Yammies new Raider. Both sweeeeeeet looking rides, streeeeetched out and custom looking. On pg 40 there was a few pictures detailing how the passenger "seat" (pad, slab ???) slides out from the back of the seat on the Rocker. If you haven't seen it, take a peek next time your in the corner store. It is unbelievable, looks dangerous as hell. So I took it in to the mrs and asked her what she thought about cruising around on that? "Not in this %&*@#$ lifetime" she says! I think I've spoiled her.
