What do you do in South Dakota when it hits 60 degrees? I think the picture says it all........

I would appreciate if some of you could help with some info on the various highways as I am leaving on a trip on Saturday thru North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Utah and wherever from there. I would like to know if there are any problems with following roads, ie., closures, bad pavement, gravel sections. We are going via: North Dakota highway #5 to #85 to Williston,ND Out of Williston down #200 to Sydney #16 out of Sydney to Glendive I94 to Miles City #59 to Broadus and onto to Gillette then to Wright #387 out of Wright to I25 to Casper Out of Casper to #220 to Muddy Gap Then #287 to #28 and then down to #191 to Rock Springs and then onto Dutch John Then wherever I have looked on the various road condition reports but I thought it would be more accurate from fellow motorcyclists, especially when dealing with roads with gravel, etc. Thanks Dana

This summer (July 16th - 26th), we're taking a trip from Utah to Madison, WI for STAR Days. After the event, we're planning on a 3-4 day ride back, and we're looking for some ideas on any can't miss spots along the way. From Wisconsin, we're thinking about heading back on 90 through Minnesota and South Dakota. Then to Wyoming and Idaho, and then back to Utah. Once we get past about the middle of South Dakota, we know were we want to go from there. I just can't figure out what there is to see between Madison, Wisconsin and South Dakota. Anyone have any recommendations for things which we want to be sure to check-out along the way? I appreciate the advice as always! Thanks & Be Safe! Pete. -
A first for me Yesterday. We had some crappy weather yesterday. It was the first time I have ever experienced rain, thunder, lightning, hail, and snow, all in the same day. Not to mention having blizzard warnings and flood warnings at the same time. South Dakota, dont like the weather, just wait a bit, it'll change..........Cmon spring, you can do it.........

Thinking bout buying K&N filters for my 08 RSV and wondering if anyone could tell me if they really raise the HP or make it feel like its breathing better? I put one on a V-8 Dodge Dakota and could not tell any difference. Also, where would be a good place to buy them? Thought I would tap the vast knowledge pool that we have here for answers. Hi Everybody, We rode our 99RSV all the way to South Dakota from our home in Cincinnati, Ohio. It was 3600 miles round trip. The bike preformed beautifully even though we obviously abused her. I have some photos posted below out of the 700 I took. It was truly an experience we will never forget. For the most part we camped in our 7 X 9 tent. We were comfortable until the King size air mattress sprung a leak the second night. This is such a beautiful country we live in. I was in constant awe of the landscape. The Badlands and the Black Hills are amazing. We rode some fantastic roads that I would love to ride again. We met many wonderful people and we almost run off the road by a biker gang dude. The Lord looked out for us and brought us safely home. We have never seen so many motorcycles in our life. We did run into one VR member in the Badlands. I know we will never travel that far again without a trailer. We would not abuse our bike and Ron like that again. The winds on the open road are very strong and with the cargo we were carrying it was just too much to handle. We even packed light. Don't know how many seen this on internet, but is the worst to best states issueing speeding tickets especially out of state, very close over limit, etc. Some admit they have to help state income and especially eliminate warnings. We are taking a trip to South Dakota at the end of June into July and was wondering what were some of the good roads to take for some scenic rides around Mount Rushmore? We are staying about 16 miles from Mount Rushmore and will probably be riding off and on for three days in that area. Moakster

As a newbie I ask basic questions, sorry if this is already answered somewhere but I could not find it easily. I have a '89 venture royale 1300, what oil should I use? I live in south dakota and do some cold weather driving but mostly drive on warmer days. thanks paru
