Buddy and I did Lake Michigan a few years back, now moving on to the next lake. Looking to do Lake Erie in late June and looking for tips & advice. Leaving from Chicago and fly the toll way to Toledo then work our way around, not sure which direction yet but probably doing 200-250 miles per day staying off the highway and following the lakefront as much as possible. 1. Already have a passport and know the usual traveling outside the country stuff, but have never driven outside the states. What do I need to know about riding in Canada? 2. Sights to see, roads to hit? 3. Anyone along the way free the weekend of June 26th?

Heard about a vet running across country to raise money to send a LST back to France for D-Day celebration in 2019. He is currently east of Hobbs NM in west Texas. From what I read he has to catch rides back to his RV when he is done with his daily rides. The wife and I are headed for San Antonio in March for a couple days and then to the Texas Hill country for 3/4 days for some riding then over to Austin for a couple days. Any suggestions of things to see and do in Austin and must roads to ride in the Hill Country area? Have friends in San Anton to help there. Thanks Rick & Shirley

I've an 08 RSV...and I've read MANY of the HID headlight threads on this board, and have one one "basic" question: Is the HID Country 35 watt "Motorcyle HID SLIM KIT" a stable kit? I'm contemplating this configuration: HID Country 35 Watt HID Slim Kit 9003/H4 Bi-Xenon bulb 6000K Crystal White Approx $52.00 Is anyone running this setup? Any comments or suggestions? Thanks!

As I do every Memorial Day on this site, I want to Thank some folks. I want to say Thank You to my Grandfathers, who served in the battle fields of WWII, 1 who was a medic, and one who delivered the supplies to the front lines. Thank You, to all the brothers and sisters I served with while I helped protect this country for 6 1/2 years. Thank You to likes of Boomer, Gunboat, Master Guns, Buddy Rich and Monty, and all the others here on this website who sacrificed some or all of their lives protecting this country. Thank You to all the modern day Warriors, who protect us as I type this. This is the most hallowed day to me, I take Memorial Day very seriously, this is the 1 day that after I left the service that I will NOT work on. Even though other countries honor their veterans on different days, I am honored to remember all the Canadians, Brits, Aussies, and all the other countries who have fought beside us in the worlds conflicts on our Memorial Day. God Bless all of you My Friends....

Took me awhile to work up the courage to sell my 89 VR. This was my first true touring bike and I have throughly enjoyed it. I am looking for something a little smaller, possibly a FJR so I can do some canyon carving here in the Texas Hill Country. If interested in my VR check out the classifieds and inputs on what my next bike should be are welcome as well.

I bought a Steel Cargo Carrier from nothern tool part Number 148835 Modified it by cutting 6 inches from each end. also got a 11/4 receiver hitch extender and had the end cut off and the tube on the carrier shortend. Me and the wife are going cross country and i didn't want to tow my open trailer all the to hoover dam and back. pictures with gear already loaded.

Went to look at the new Cross Country tourer yesterday. Took a ride and WOW. Very nice machine. The dealer told me to come back and take it for an afternoon. Now that is good relations. The dealer is an Indian dealer also and I have known him for a couple years. I will take him up on that when the weather improves.

Just thought I'd try a Hail Mary here -who knows when you might connect - We have been looking for the perfect retirement home/property in the Texas Hill Country for the past year - found lots of interesting places, but nothing just right yet. Want 10+ acres for privacy and hunting, plus a decent home Privacy and seclusion a must, live water a HUGE plus. Willing to buy separate hunting property if we find the right home site on too small acreage Our favorite areas are Bandera, Wimberly, and Llano, but anywhere in the Hill Country is possible. On the very slight chance anyone out there has a lead on Hill Country property, give me a shout! Goose

For those of you that need a part number for repairs or "Bling" from time to time I stumbled accross this! Looks to have a lot of items for a lot of Yamaha's. And yes I know a lot of them are not produced any more. But when calling around the country trying to find one you would now have a # at least? It helped me find some discontinued bling! Bryan

I have an oppurtunity for a cross country ride from (San Jose)California to (Baton Rouge)Louisiana in april. Do you think an '83 Venture can make that trip? My bike has no issues right now and i do have some spare parts (TCI, voltage regulator, and CMS etc.) that would join me on the trip. My bike has around 46k miles on it right now, new tires, new stator, and front progressive springs. Any Suggestions on things that i should do before the spring trip? Correction, it has 36K on it. Has anyone done this trip before? I have 14 days for my trip. -

When are we gonna start treating these types of scum like the domestic terrorists that they are? I am so sick and tired of hearing about all the street gangs and 1% clubs causing so much trouble in our own back yards. I am in no way ready to ride again and would love to get another Venture but I don't think I could ever handle the weight of one with my shoulder the way it was reconstructed, so I found this 79 XS Eleven special. I have owned 2 one 79 and one 82 the 82 I took cross country. This one looks like showroom condition and is not far from me. What do you folks think. We just got back from a week long bike trip down to Nashville. Took our time going down and back staying off the interstates as much as possible. Saw some beautiful country, fall colours and some great country music shows. We went to the Grand Ole Opry both Friday and Saturday nights and hit the down town bars Thursday night and Sunday afternoon. And the weather was perfect. Not a drop of rain all week. Bonus!

Hi Just wanted to say a big thanks to Starstruck for adding to our recent holiday in Wyoming. It was great to spend lunch at the Irma in Cody with a fellow Venture rider and talk about where to go and what to see. It really made a difference to get some local knowledge. Those roads across the plain from Grand Teton to Laramie are awesome. Although we were in a can, we picked up some great riding roads like the switchbacks up to Dinosaur Ridge behind Golden in Colorado or the run up to Estes Park. You guys are very lucky to have a country to run in like that right on the back door. We've had five holidays in the States and each one has been FAB. The wife's even thinking about hiring a bike for the next one! Trouble is i can't read the speedo's on the new Harley's and that and BM's seem to be the only things out for hire. Thanks once again

A few of you have had dealings with HID Country. A while ago, about 6 months, I purchased a motorcycle H4 kit and a dual kit for H3 application. The H3 kit was not even close to the size they said it was and would not fit my fog lights so I sent it back. No problem there but there was a part that indicated it was for H4 which I did not return as I thought it was for the MC H4 kit but turned out it wasn't. I have been trying to find out what this part does. It looks like it could be a relay but has two connectors that apparently would hook up to two ballasts. The problem I am having is getting this part identified. I have been corresponding with Mike without success. He does not seem to know what parts my order included. He has not been very responsive, wait for a reply for a few days or a week then send a query through the site to support and perhaps get a response. Anyway, it getting a bit frustrating. The only other person I have corresponded with is Jason who appears to be their technical person. What I would like to know is if anyone has an email address for Jason? Attached are two pix of the part I am trying to ID. It would be helpful f anyone knows what that part does. In any case, I would like to contact Jason directly if I can find his address.
