I just purchased an '07 Royal Star Venture with just under 10,000 miles on it. She is my first liquid cooled motorcycle, but I think that she is making too much engine heat as my feet are getting too warm and I am feeling more heat than I think that I should for a liquid cooled bike. Granted the ambient temperatures are a bit warm here in Georgia, but I still think she is running a bit warm. I had the coolant system flushed about three weeks ago but no change. I do not have a hot engine light at all. Would really like to get this fixed. My next step is to replace the thermostat, but looking for some advice first. Thanks. Verner

Is Oiled cooled engines have similar life expectancy as water cooled engines. Know any draw backs to oil cooled engines. Just doing some research for my son who is looking at purchasing a Ducati when he returns from his Deployment.

I was over on triketalk.com and was reading a thread about how hot the HD Triglide is and how much modifications and $$ they have to put into there stock trikes to just make them bareable to ride. Wouldn't it make more sense to just buy a liquid cooled trike? Don't get me wrong, I like HD, but not if it's going to cook my butt and other things.

Well yesterday as I left a job interview I started hearing a weirn high pitched noise. I pulled into a gas station and checked things out. I could not find anything that may have caused the noise. I decided to baby the bike home and really get into things after it cooled down. Well I did not hear the noise again. Got home parked it in the garage and started digging through threads to find a starting point. About the time I thought it had cooled enough my wife got home. That is when I figured out the noise. I had gotten a new cell phone and was not used to the ringtone. She had tried to call hoping to catch me before I headed home. Lesson, always check the phone first then the bike. Thought you might get a laugh out of this. Shaun

I work for Modine and I bought and installed one of their ceiling hung heaters that was on clearance. Installed it in Sept. and it worked perfect until last week when the weather cooled off drastically. It is hooked up to a 100 lb bottle that probably has a foot of liquid left in it. The pilot went out and I can't get it to light again. I assumed it was a pressure problem. Yesterday it got into the 50s and it worked again. I figured that confirmed what I thought. Today it cooled off again. I made a pressure gauge for inches of water column from plans on the internet. Hooked it up to the input side of the valve ( a Robertshaw 720-402) and it measured exactly 11 inches just like it was supposed to. Part of my problem is that the company sent instructions for an intermittent pilot valve and mine is a standing pilot. When I hooked the gauge up to the output side it shows no pressure and of course I can't get it to light again. What does an expert think?

Redneck Bike Washin' , Finally Rained , Finally cooled off, Priceless, Does it matter , ??? Time to wash the bike after 7 weeks of road grime. Got to join 100+ bikes tomorrow to lead in the worlds largest truck parade in Waupun, WI . It's also a fund raiser for Make A Wish. Hopefully I can post another pic of 4 local Ventures with our ABATE group tomorrow night. And it's finally cooled off a bit after 2 weeks of killer heat, for our neck of the woods anyways. So here we are after a few cocktails, with the bike out in the rain, and a soapy rag, .... Savin' on the city water bill, PRICELESS ! Later, Scooter Bob and Karen

While watching a segment of American Thunder that covered the Harley History Museum, they covered a bike that had never been released to the public called the Nova. It had a V4 water cooled motor. Very interesting......... Did a little search on Google and came up with THIS
