i have a 2003 ranger with 106,000 miles, 3 liter v-6. i think the converter is clogged. sears says it's not the converter, it needs to have the fuel system cleaned. it runs great but does'nt seem to have the power it once had. and it has a roaring sound when it gets over 2500 rpm, like it is laboring. could sears be right. they get $150.00 for a complete fuel system cleaning. question is does this really work or is it a waste of money?

I pulled the pipes off of my 85 Venture Royale, and i put the tips for the pipes sticking outward from where the pipes should be. Dad thinks that its bad for it, but i think that since its going through the catalytic converter, it shouldn't make any difference. Having the pipes off didn't really affect performance so what do you think?

Where is a good place to buy the Hoppy power converter? I don't have a pep Boys where I live. Is it easy to wire up on a RSTD?. Jim Bell A computer once beat me in chess, but it didn't survive kick boxing.

I bought 08 Ultra Classic take offs and need to know what to do to install on my 09 RSV. I understand that the Harleys have a catalytic converter installed in one pipe. I don't know if the RSV has converters. Do I need to take the converter out of the Harley pipe? If so doesn't that mean that I'll just be running straight pipes on the RSV. I'm trying to just get a low rumble out of the RSV. Nothing to drastic just a nice tone. I'm on a budget and don't want to buy expensive pipes. I'M SO CONFUSED:bawling:

Well, I bought a set of slash cuts to install. Told me it had the converter. Turns out they both have the converter so apparently I was sent to right(?) sides. Lovely. The converter wasn't what I'd pictured. Figured it would be pellets to get out. Turns out it's layers of metal in an interesting patter. Cutting it looks impossible without knowing what a cutaway version looks like. The end has the usual look to it, but the engine side doesn't. Not sure anything can be done, or that I can run them. Sigh.

Has anyone not drilled RK newer mufflers with the cat. converter? Is it necessary to drill the cat. converter?

It looks like I amy win an auction for a set of 2004 RK Mufflers. I have a couple of questions. 1. Do the 2004's have a catalytic converter? 2. Whe sells the bracket for adapting these mufflers to the RSV? Thanks

I'm wiring my 2003 venture for a trailer plug. I'm using a Hoppy #48915 which is supposed to convert independant signal/brake light, to the common combined system. I ran 4 relay's so I didn't stress the system. The problem is, all I get on the plug is tail lights, no signals or brakes. I tracked all five wires back, and even right before they go into the converter they all work fine. On the other side of the coverter/plug, of the 4 wires, only the tail light has power. Did I get a bad converter? I've read where people have used Hoppy #48845, and I don't see anything different with what I have other than the converter is in the plug and not inline. Where an I going wrong:confused24:? Thanks Steve
