I am wondering what kind of touring capabilitys a Concours would have.. I KNOW the wife and I are wayy spoiled with the 1st Gen Yammer (I am wondering if my body is permanently molded to the good ol yam) BUT I have a chance to get on a Concours for a really swinging deal and am considering it.. At any rate,, anyone here ever spent anytime on anything even remotely comparable?? All yeas and neayss welcome! thanks Scott

Well we have a new Atlana area member, some of you met him at the N. Ga. M&E. Gene rides a Kawasaki Concours. I told him he would be in for some good natured ribbing about not riding a Venture or Yamaha, but he did ride a V Star 650 before moving up to is nice looking Concours. I guess thats sorta like staying at the Holiday Inn Express.............:rotfl: By the way Gene and I work for the same company, so I will make sure he keeps up with you guys Welcome to the family Gene, you just joined the most addictive web site in the world!!!!!

Hey yall, I've added another bike to the stable. It's a new (to me) '87 Kawasaki Concours with 33k mi I picked up on Ebay. I got it to play in the twisties and commute to work on weekends when I don't ride in the van pool. I live 98 mi from my work. I've already racked up 22k mi on my 07 RSV. The Concours is a nice bike but it sure will make you appreciate the comfort of the RSV!-Jack

Recently retired and bought an 05 RSTD with around 20,000 on it. I will be leaving from South GA on July 14 for an 'epic' 34 day ride across the US back(I hope). Never having ridden in the Rockies I am looking forward to it but wonder if there are any problems to expect when riding in such high altitudes with a bike that has carbs. The last decade I rode a 91 Concours which was also had carbs but I never ventured far from the south. I would welcome any constructive advice or tips. By the way this is my first post. Thanks, warrenstar

or, maybe the Kings... I have a dilemma and some of you all have experience I need. I have an 05 RSTD. I recently purchased an 08 Concours. My SO wants to start riding again and she would like a "queen's seat" like on the GW/RSV. I love the 08 Concours for that solo ride and SPORT-touring capability but it's no 2-up mount. There really isn't an option of convincing her to ride on the RSTD. I've owned an 03 RSV and I simply won't buy another until it is updated as I want all the doodads. We have sat on a new Victory Vision and even though it has many features I can't get past an air-cooled motor being mounted in all that plastic nor some elements of the design. I'm also not too interested in HD bikes due to power and noise issues. I'm looking for something electric quiet as my 08 Concours ... I've found I really like that a lot. So, given all this would you convince me not to buy an GW for 2-up riding ? You have any thoughts ? Also, should I sell all my accessories and the RSTD separately ? Is that what you would do ? Here is the list: Luggage Rack Dyna3000 Baron's Reservoir Tach Water Pump Cover Oil Cover Utopia Backrest (may retro to the GV ?) Brake Reservoir Cover Left Side Air Wings Aluminum Radiator Cover BUBs Stock Windshield K&N Filters
