Has anyone out there put on the aftermarket 4" shorter by 2.5" wider windshield? How does it compare to the OEM?

I have been riding a Suzuki Intruder vs1400 for years but thinking about the Venture because it has 4 cylinders and 1300cc in a cruiser format (seems about ideal to me) Can anybody compare the two bikes please ?? I have read the tech specs of Venture about weight, seat height, etc But advertisements don't mention other things like long distance comfort acceleration and top end handling in twisties gas mileage in various conditions etc I have found my vs1400 to be pretty much bullet proof so parts failure and maintenance are important to me thanks, Bob

Resiliently bought an 01 rsv for cheep...now know why...the clutch SCREAMS!!!! I have read all the post on clutch baskets I can find. (H' I' G' ect) Found this one off a 1st. gen and the only letter on is a 'C' etched on the gear itself. I have nothing in it so it is probably worth a try. I will compare them closely when I get the one out of bike, waiting on pcw spring kit. I stumbled on this old thread "Magnets to make traffic lights turn green". I've only riden since Sept 2010 and before that it has been 27 years. So I have some catching up to do. I read all the comments and for the small cost I am going to install one. One of the links suggested to go to Harbor Freight and look up Welding Magnets. I'm concluding the more powerful the magnet the better. I owned an '83 Venture Royale from 83 to 90. It was top heavy but manageable with care. I am looking at a 99 and 2000 MM and I understand they are top heavy also. How do the two bikes compare in this important handling situation? Thanks in advance for your replies...

I had a 1981 and 1986 Goldwings, a 1999 Valkryie and now own a 1986 and 1989 Venture Royales. I really like the "looks" of the 2nd Gen. and wonder how they compare, feel. run. race, against the Valk. Anybody have any direct experiences??? Comments???

bought an 86 back before thanksgiving as a project/parts bike. paid $400 for it. had been sitting in a carport for 10+ years. after stripping it down pretty well and lubing everything i could find, replacing all fluids and checking out as much as i could on the way, she's finally back together (mostly). maiden voyage was yesterday, a short spin down the highway, and its runnin GREAT! I replaced a few parts but for the most part every thing was in good shape so ive got less than $600 bucks into it...YEEHAW!!! even better is that i now have something to compare my 87 to. its been having problems that i cant track down, but now i know that it definately isnt right. I will be trading parts back and forth till it runs like this new 86. what a pleasure to ride a good working machine! thanks for listening to me brag

Bought the bike used and thought of installing the Leveling Links. How do I tell if the links have already been installed? Haven't ridden any other 2 gen's, so I have nothing to compare it with.

I take care of the Maint. on the range bikes; GZ250, 125 Eliminator, 250 Rebels & Nighthawks, and TW 200 mostly. I need to find the flat rate from the dealer to compare with what we do for budget reasons. Is there an on line resource? Thanks Rod

I have been considering replacing my stock handlebars and would like opinions from some of you that have done the same. I know some talk about Flanders bars but what about the bars from a Tour Deluxe? The TD bars seem quite a bit wider and looks like they would come back much more than the stock bars. I have not seen the Flanders bars on another bike so I do not have anything to compare them with. Would the Flanders or the TD bars be the better choise? If so why?

I'm investigating new mufflers and it is between the BUBS sleepers or the KhromeWerks slip ons. I don't seem to run into other Royal Stars that have made the switch to compare. Does anyone know a site or sites that have the sounds? Also, Anyone that has experience with both, regarding quality.

OK folks I just picked up Harley touring mufflers off e-bay. Now I have read about the modification 1-4. These are still original I do not know what year bike they came off of, but the left one has a catalyst in it. What now? How can I modify this one compare to the other side? Should I install them the way they are now and try first? Can they be modified? Thanks.
