Just wanted to get some opinions, feedback and/or comments here on this idea/project. I'm putting together a 4.8" TFT Touchscreen instrument cluster for my 1983 Venture Royale Deluxe ... I want to replace the current dash/cluster with the touchscreen display that will show the following: Battery Voltage Fuel Guage with MPG reading Speed / RPMs Odometer / Tripometer Compass / GPS Turn Signals / hazards (when on) Outdoor and Engine Temp Clock with alarm Neutral Indicator (maybe indicator to show which gear as well) Side Stand / Kill Switch Indicator Burned out headlight and HI / LO tail, brake light failure indicator High beam indicator. Possibly Oil level indicator. (any additions or changes please comment and let me know) I'm also thinking that there could be a few user selectable display variations (themes). I have the electronics / programming know how to do this and I am planning on doing this for myself either way, but was wondering if others would be interested in this as well? Thanks, Jason

One of the things that surprises me about this forum is the number of people that will open a post and never make any kind of comment. An example of this is a birthday wish I made to another member yesterday and it has now had 69 views and not one single comment other than my original one. It is like we have a bunch of lurkers that never have anything to say. It says there was 70 viewing the Wateringhole and there has only been a few comments over the last hour. RandyA

Soo... I arrive home today with my fancy shiny new FJR. I love it! I couldn't wait to hear my wife's opinion, and she's not shy about sharing her opinion either. Her very first comment was, 'That's a young guys bike...' Damn!

Over the years here we have all clicked on various webistes to place our online votes for a member of our group... now it's my turn to ask: My nephew is in the running to win an autographed jersey from a Philadelphia Union soccer player. On the Philadelphia Union's Facebook page, he needs as many people to "Like" his comment as possible. If you are on Facebook and have a minute to spare, please help him win the jersey. Here's the 'how to' from his father: First, go to this link and "like" the Union. Next, go to this link and scroll down the comments, find the comment by Bill Malone, and "like" that comment. My son thanks you!!! Thanks to all for your help!

My brother just graduated with a masters in history. He is moving tonight or tomorrow to go to New Mexico. Him and his wife have done some searching and apparently there is a need for teaching jobs in New Mexico. Can anyone from New Mexico or surrounding states comment? Maybe for some sort of specialized field? I hope the best for my brother but considering the economy and schools around Indy are laying off instead of hiring I have my doubts

Need a hand...Front speakers are shot...reading all the old comments I can find it seems the ideal replacement speakers are POLK 107DB400's...Now out of production and replaced with DB401's...Looking at the 401 speaker there are only 2 "Ears" for mounting..will this hold up? Also read a comment on MTX speakers...any help on the model/part number of these speakers? I'm sort of hard of hearing to begin with and have to turn up the volume on the Interstates...Any help? Appreciate..

As some of you know, we have been dealing with the Ontario government for the last year on an issue regarding a licence for curing and smoking our own product. During that time we had to deal with and through Leona Dombrosky. She has seen been replaced by Carol Mitchell, member of parliment for Huron Bruce. I wonder if anyone would care to comment on who she is, what her focus might be etc, so that when I send her a letter I might be better informed as to how to say things and word pharse it.

Ok folks. '99 w/ 42k mile. 1st clutch replaced at just over 16k with Barnett plates and springs due to slippage. Clutch seems strong (no slipping) but does not disengage when clutch lever is pulled in. Bled clutch fluid today and checked engine oil level (even topped it off) since it is after all a wet clutch. Still wants to pull when lever is pulled in. Short of pulling clutch out to look for warped plates, etc., which I don't think is case. Heard one comment that maybe plates got dry (bile has not been sitting) and best way to free them up is to get up to about 15MPH and lock up rear brake with clutch pulled in. Any help / suggestions would be appreciated. pa_don

A couple of us are riding from Toronto, Ont to Nova Scotia next Friday. We are planning to take most of the way there through the US. Once into Vermont, we are planning roughly the following route:#11 south to just north of Burlington Vt then #15 east joining #2 around St Johnsbury following it through NH into Maine all the way to Bangor then #9 into New Brunswick. We hope this is a fairly senic reasonably quick route without getting onto the interstates or major highways for too long. Can anyone from these areas comment on these roads, the conditions we may expect or anything we need to be cautious about during the trip. (ie construction, closures etc.) Do not expect there will be but just thought I would ask the question to be sure. Thanks for any help or comments you are able to provide. Robert
