Have 2, a custom and a Markland. Both came with '88 parts bikes I sold, but neither was installed. I can fit them, but I'd like to see how other first gen trailer hitches are installed. Looks like there are several options for the front connection, some move more than others. Looks like the connections under the saddlebags might require a longer bolt, or some spacers. Shoulda gone to Ft. Collins and got my own photos.

Hello Everyone: When I first joined this site almost two years ago there were no other local members. The closest member was Zfrebird4 in Fort Collins CO. about 150 miles away. We have have spoken and emailed several times since that time, but did not meet until this weekend. Our schedules finally meshed. We rode over to Fort Collins on Saturday, had a nice lunch with Jack and he then led us the back way around Horse Tooth lake to Loveland where Lee and I stayed the night. We met up again on Sunday around noon. Jack led us to Estes Park, Lyons, Longmont and back to Fort Collins. Jack is riding Squidley's former 86 Venture Royale, what a nice bike!! We headed back home to Western Nebraska with more VR memories. Thanks Jack

Yep, no aussie Annie all weekend. It's a long weekend here, and when Quickstep gets home from work we are hitching up the camper trailer and heading to a Ulysses Club Odyssey [mini rally] further up the coast. I get to tow the "Taj - Ma - Collins" for the first time with the Quike. So you all behave in here and I'll report in on Monday

My wrench has no idea how to find bug and rock protectors for the forks on my 86 VR. I've noticed some that appear to be ad ons on the second gens, but none on us first guys' bike. Any help will be appreciated! And Yep, I ride in all directions, up all the time these days! Jack Tharp Fort Collins, CO aka DePreach: for weddings, outdoor and motorcycle ones preferred! AND, NO FUNDI here; just well centered in my faith an on my 86 from Squidley! JZ

Just curious, who had the 1st gen with the gorgeous Eagle etching on their windshield of their 1st gen at Ft. Collins this year? I am looking to have something similar done on mine as my painter - who is also doing windshied etching now - is out in my area this week - but didn't want to copy what I saw in Ft. Collins. My picture only turned out so so, and was hoping to get a better picture to show Sue and give her an idea of what I want.
