1. Started the morning with one of my horses standing out in the yard at 4:30 this morning so get dressed and put her in with the others, and its below zero outside so I am wide awake now so much for sleeping in. Then no cold water got that going and the drain pluged up got the plunger give it a couple of good plunges the pipe came apart coffee grounds and water all over the floor, had to talk with Sharon about the coffee grounds, Then I got to chat with a couple of good friends and now I have a big pot of Venison stew cooking away on the wood stove and does it ever smell good. Starting to feel like the start of a good year. Happy New Year Orlin
2. you call the police because someone stole your Tim Horton's "free coffee and donut" coupon!
3. one of my winter projects this year is an eck style camper. i bought a new doolittle cargo trailer. so far i have wired it with 110 outlets , a porch light, interior outlets and lighting. black friday came at the right time. i have a mini refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, hot plate , and gas grill. this poor mans camping is getting expensive. it is alot cheaper than a toy hauler. the only things i have left, is air conditiong, and an awning. i owe eck some coffee so i need to go to a meet where eck is at. maybe vogel next year. how about it eck? snarley bill
4. At the 2012 International rally in NY, someone from Texas gave me a bag of pecan coffee...I have a great memory, its just short ..Can't recall who gave it to me......well, I HID the coffee and drank it as if it was made of gold on special occasions....Sad to say, its gone........:bawling:Can the person who gave me the bag tell me where it came from as I don't have the original bag anymore and would like to find out where I can order some ......
5. Personally, I think Mickie D's has the best coffee around. And it tastsd the same no matter where you go..... But there are some who apparently have a different opinion. Here’s a coffee that will really wake you up: the brew, the reportedly most expensive in the world, is made from beans found in elephant dung. Black Ivory Coffee, sold in the Maldives and Thailand, will cost you $1,100 per kilogram-- yes, that’s over $1K for coffee passed through the digestive systemhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1.png of a Thai elephant. The makers of the brew celebrate the coffee for its natural refinement, stating, “Research indicates that during digestion, the enzymes of the elephant break down coffee protein. Since protein is one of the main factors responsible for bitterness in coffee, less protein means almost no bitterness.” With the coffee coming in at over $1,000 per kilogram, drinkers would be paying over $50 per cup. The makers also point out that only about 50 kilograms of the coffee are available, making the expensive product even more difficult to obtain-- that is, if you’re really dying to try it. For now, we’ll learn to appreciate the bitterness of the cheap Starbucks househttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1.png blend. 6. Stopped in at my local Caribou Coffee shop this morning to pick up a cup. They have a daily trivia question. Answer it correctly and you get 10% off. Todays question is: What is Ethiopia's main commercial export crop? Don't know if anyone goes to Caribou Coffee or if they have the same trivia contest. But, if you do, and they do, believe me the answer IS NOT political refugees. Not sure if I will ever be welcome back in their shop.....
7. Leaving Flatrock NL for St. Jean sur Richelieu PQ Saturday morning (19th May). Planning on crossing the island on Saturday, ferry Saturday night, 1000km across NS and NB Sunday, and the last 600 or so km Monday morning.... Any members along the way that might be interested in a coffee and a handshake, it'd be nice to actually meet some of the folks I've met on here this past year...

10. I hate advertising! Tim Horton's "Rrrrollup the Rim to win" campaign is on. Huge sign in the store with a rollup cup and writing below that. Very first sentence is.... "No purchase necessary." (see the pic below). So, I go over to the counter and ask for a rollup cup. "what size coffee you like sir?" ... no, I said, I don't want coffee ... I just want the cup. "oh no sir, you have to buy a coffee" ... course, I say "but your ad says no purchase necessary" ... "no sir, you have to purchase" ... get me a manager! ... out comes the manager "no sir, you have to purchase a coffee .... please call head office... they will explain ... blah blah" Ok, so I walk away (after causing a mini-scene with 20 customers lined up behind me). I go online and open their rules ... sure enough, you can get a rollup cup without making a purchase ..... 2. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO PLAY: In Canada, obtain a FREE Tim Hortons contest cup and/or a copy of the official rules, by writing to: Tim Hortons Contest Cup, P.O. Box 9162 Saint John, N.B. E2L 4Y2. In U.S.A., to receive a FREE contest cup and/or a copy of the official rules write to: Tim Hortons Contest Cup, P.O. Box 1315 Calais, ME 04619-6315. ggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! The display ad (pic below) could have been a bit more informative and would have saved everyone a lot of wasted time and energy. I wonder how many other people have done what I just did... (or am I the only a-hole?) I also think the manager could have explained a bit better.

13. I am sitting in a hotel lobby in Lake Point (just west of SLC) unable to continue riding because of the snow. I can probably make it to town if anyone is interested in catching a cup of coffee. I may be here for a while until I can find a clear way out of these mountains. RR
14. Jack wakes up with a huge hangover after attending his company's Christmas Party. Jack is not normally a drinker, but the drinks didn't taste like alcohol at all. He didn't even remember how he got home from the party. As bad as he was feeling, he wondered if he did something wrong. Jack had to force himself to open his eyes, and the first thing he sees is a couple of aspirins next to a glass of water on the side table. And, next to them, a single red rose!! Jack sits up and sees his clothing in front of him, all clean and pressed. He looks around the room and sees that it is in perfect order, spotlessly clean. So is the rest of the house. He takes the aspirins, cringes when he sees a huge black eye staring back at him in the bathroom mirror. Then he notices a note hanging on the corner of the mirror written in red with little hearts on it and a kiss mark from his wife in lipstick: "Honey, breakfast is on the stove, I left early to get groceries to make you your favorite dinner tonight. I love you, darling! Love, Jillian" He stumbles to the kitchen and sure enough, there is hot breakfast, steaming hot coffee and the morning newspaper. His 16 year old son is also at the table, eating. Jack asks, "Son... what happened last night?" "Well, you came home after 3 a.m., drunk and out of your mind You fell over the coffee table and broke it, and then you puked in the hallway, and got that black eye when you ran into the door." Confused, he asked his son, "So, why is everything in such perfect order and so clean? I have a rose, and breakfast is on the table waiting for me??" His son replies, "Oh THAT... Mom dragged you to the bedroom, and when she tried to take your pants off, you screamed.... "Leave me alone, I'm married!!" Broken Coffee Table $239.99 Hot Breakfast $4.20 Two Aspirins $.38 Saying the right thing, at the right time PRICELESS

19. Better than papertowels and a lot lessexpensive... COFFEE FILTERS Coffee filters ..... Who knew! And you can buy 1,000 at the Dollar Tree for almost nothing even the large ones. 1. Cover bowls or dishes when cooking in the microwave. Coffee filters make excellent covers. 2. Clean windows, mirrors, and chrome... Coffee filters are lint-free so they'll leave windows sparkling. 3. Protect China by separating your good dishes with a coffee filter between each dish. 4. Filter broken cork from wine. If you break the cork when opening a wine bottle, filter the wine through a coffee filter. 5. Protect a cast-iron skillet.... Place a coffee filter in the skillet to absorb moisture and prevent rust. 6. Apply shoe polish. Ball up a lint-free coffee filter. 7. Recycle frying oil. After frying, strain oil through a sieve lined with a coffee filter. 8. Weigh chopped foods. Place chopped ingredients in a coffee filter on a kitchen scale. 9. Hold tacos. Coffee filters make convenient wrappers for messy foods. 10. Stop the soil from leaking out of a plant pot. Line a plant pot with a coffee filter to prevent the soil from going through the drainage holes. 11. Prevent a Popsicle from dripping. Poke one or two holes as needed in a coffee filter.. 12. Do you think we used expensive strips to wax eyebrows? Use strips of coffee filters.. 13. Put a few in a plate and put your fried bacon, French fries, chicken fingers, etc on them. It soaks out all the grease. 14. Keep in the bathroom. They make great "razor nick fixers." 15. As a sewing backing. Use a filter as an easy-to-tear backing for embroidering or appliquing soft fabrics. 16.. Put baking soda into a coffee filter and insert into shoes or a closet to absorb or prevent odors. 17... Use them to strain soup stock and to tie fresh herbs in to put in soups and stews. 18.. Use a coffee filter to prevent spilling when you add fluids to your car. 19. Use them as a spoon rest while cooking and clean up small counter spills. 20. Can use to hold dry ingredients when baking or when cutting a piece of fruit or veggies.. Saves on having extra bowls to wash. 21. Use them to wrap Christmas ornaments for storage. 22. Use them to remove fingernail polish when out of cotton balls. 23. Use them to sprout seeds.. Simply dampen the coffee filter, place seeds inside, fold it and place it into a plastic baggie until they sprout. 24. Use coffee filters as blotting paper for pressed flowers. Place the flowers between two coffee filters and put the coffee filters in phone book.. 25.. Use as a disposable "snack bowl" for popcorn, chips, etc. OH YEAH THEY ARE GREAT TO USE IN YOUR COFFEE MAKERS TOO.
20. I love my coffee and buy my own beans and grind them, when I go on my bike trip the end of Sept I will be camping every night and was just wondering if anyone has any ideas about a camping coffee pot. When I was younger I had a percolator but I know things must have evolved since then.
21. Well folks, I'll be out of touch for at least a few hours. I have the eye surgery at 11:30 tomorrow. I have no idea how long it is supposed to take but I'll probably be home very late tomorrow night. The worse part is that I can't have anything to eat or drink after midnight tonight. No coffee tomorrow morning.....that is NOT a good thing. Anyway, I'll be back with a full report whenever I can. It may be Thursday though. Not sure how I will feel when I get home tomorrow night but I'm thinking probably not very good.
22. Was wondering if any of you have bought the coffee mug/holder? Had a couple of questions: 1) Does it mount on either side of the bars. In thier photos it is only shown mounted on the right side off the brake fluid resevior, was wondering if it would mount on the left off the clutch resevior? 2) Does it block access to any of the controls? Looks a little big with the handle taking up a good amount of space. I've got a friend that has the Kuryakyn version mounted on his HD, and its handy for water/coffee at stoplights or in traffic. Really good on hot days to keep hydrated. Works for him, but of course the mounts are different. As always appreciate any throughts. Ride Safe. Bob
23. Well.....we finally are getting all of our crap together! Brad has been working for a few weeks now, and we finally are out of Gunboat's hair....well, we are in our own place, put it that way!! We wouldn't have made it if it were not for Don, Ponch and Kbay, thats for sure! So....we would like to invite everyone over to come and check out our new place. All are welcome to come and eat whatever we decide to make.....I'm thinking about deepfrying a turkey, and later we can just make sandwiches for a snack. I will get some donuts and stuff like that for the early risers, and coffee! So it will be an all day thing so everyone can make it when they can! Please try and let us know if you think you will make it, so I know just how much food to have! And, yea ......there MAY be cheesecake in it! Should we give a whole cheesecake to the person who comes the furthest!?
24. Cheesecake and coffee from down under
