Does anyone have any experience with these types of heaters. They claim they are 40% more efficient than the regular baseboard heaters thus using less power. My question is how efficient do they work and do they use a lot less power as they claim. I was thinking of using in the rec room as a supplememtal heat. House has a gas furnace.Comments please. Here is a link to the heaters http://www.costco.ca/Dynamic-Infrared-Quartz-Heater.product.10395019.html

Has anyone with a 2nd Gen approached Yamaha about the speedometer being off ? Was wondering what Yamaha would say if someone made a warranty claim for it.

we had a hail storm go through here this afternoon. I could see once but twice, come on mother nature. Now my little PT cruiser looks like it has dimples. Oh well called progressive to make a claim. What can you do (nothing) except deal with it. At least bike was in the garage at my GF house. Joe

Warning do not get a droid from Verizon. Their insurance and warrante is worthless. They know that the chip goes bad after 2 years but will not warrante your $499.00 phone after you have paid for years with no claim. You get nothing even if you have been a customer for 15+ years. Pass it on so they screw less people. Rod

Has anyone tried L.A. Chopper oval slip ons? I see they make them for the Venture and they look nice but I haven't seen any comments about them. Wonder what they sound like. They claim a deep rumble which is what I want.

Okay, trip is booked and paid for!! Still having some trouble with seats for me [dang stiff leg] but will get it sorted. Borrowed from our super, but hope my claim settles early new year. :happy34:Here is our itinerary, but U.S. bits are subject to some change, depending on how I cope with pain.

My sources in Ontario tell me that Canada is implimenting a new program to reduce new claims for Welfare. Apparently, starting this coming Monday, a claim forms will be printed only in English..... Now if that don't beat all....

BEST TRUE LAWYER STORY OF THE YEAR, DECADE, AND POSSIBLY THE CENTURY This took place in Charlotte, North Carolina . A lawyer purchased a box of very rare and expensive cigars, then insured them against, among other things, fire. Within a month, having smoked his entire stockpile of these great cigars, the lawyer filed a claim against the insurance company. In his claim, the lawyer stated the cigars were lost 'in a series of small fires.' The insurance company refused to pay, citing the obvious reason, that the man had consumed the cigars in the normal fashion. The lawyer sued - and WON! (Stay with me.) Delivering the ruling, the judge agreed with the insurance company that the claim was frivolous. The judge stated nevertheless, that the lawyer held a policy from the company, in which it had warranted that the cigars were insurable and also guaranteed that it would insure them against fire, without defining what is considered to be unacceptable 'fire' and was obligated to pay the claim. Rather than endure lengthy and costly appeal process, the insurance company accepted the ruling and paid $15,000 to the lawyer for his loss of the cigars that perished in the 'fires'. NOW FOR THE BEST PART... After the lawyer cashed the check, the insurance company had him arrested on 24 counts of ARSON!!! With his own insurance claim and testimony from the previous case being used against him, the lawyer was convicted of intentionally burning his insured property and was sentenced to 24 months in jail and a $24,000 fine. This true story won First Place in last year's Criminal Lawyers Award contest. ONLY IN AMERICA ............NO WONDER THE REST OF THE WORLD THINKS WE'RE NUTS

This supposedly took place in Charlotte, North Carolina. But even if it's not true, it's a great story! A lawyer purchased a box of very rare and expensive cigars, then insured them against, among other things, fire. Within a month, having smoked his entire stockpile of these great cigars, the lawyer filed a claim against the insurance company. In his claim, the lawyer stated the cigars were lost 'in a series of small fires' ... The insurance company refused to pay, citing the obvious reason, that the man had consumed the cigars in the normal fashion. The lawyer sued and WON! ( Stay with me. ) Delivering the ruling, the judge agreed with the insurance company that the claim was frivolous. After the lawyer cashed the cheque, the insurance company had him arrested on 24 counts of ARSON!!! With his own insurance claim and testimony from the previous case being used against him, the lawyer was convicted of intentionally burning his insured property and was sentenced to 24 months in jail and a $24,000 fine. For all you wonderful people who are trying to get us to the U.S.A. for MD 2011....I would like to share with you the dream I have had for years', and how we planned to achieve it. The Dream: To ship the bike over, purchase a trailer for gear, and do a riding tour of the U.S. for three months. Changed to: When the insurance claim comes through we would ship the trike, which is kitted out for my bad leg (and do the tour) Purchase a trailer to carry our gear, and my wheelchair....then donate it to VentureRiders.org. when we left. VR.org: Our VR family are now trying to get us to MD for 2011. So we are hoping we might combine the two efforts! *** My solicitor has told us she will be presenting everything for claim around September? So, hopefully by the time we would be due to leave for the states the claim would have been settled (6/7 months) and we could contribute and re-pay everyone's generosity. We then talked about hiring a trike over there, instead of a vehicle. As long as the engine doesn't stick out at the side too much!! no room for leg and I could fit highway pegs to it we thought that it would be more fun. So Bryan 52577....we like your thinking Mini Muffin....... GOD BLESS you for caring so much VR.org........ Luv Ya

Well, we haven't divorced yet, but we have seperated. Liz is still in Tennessee, I moved down to Hinesville Ga on saturday. All the grandkids are now within 10 minutes from the house. The 7th is due in about 3 weeks. Maybe now I can start making some of the M&Es. Liz and I have split on pretty good terms. We decided that a 25 year friendship was worth more to us than a one year marraige. She is still one of my best friends, we just couldn't live together. Different priorities I guess. I am also now medically retired. The cardiologist finally said no more work, so I now have a social security claim and a disability claim working wth VA. Meanwhile, short term disability thru the job. So at least I'm not broke. Yet.

A few weeks after V-Goose posted about the way progressive handled the claim for Cyote61 my territory sales manager with progressive came in the office. I told about the way the claim was handled and I went on this web site and let him read the responses and I told him there were over 6,000 members of this site. I asked him if he would be willing to talk to the higher ups with progressive about the way this claim was handled. He was upset just like me and agreed to see if someone with progressive would look into this. He also asked if it would be OK for the "higher ups" to go on this web site and read the posts about this claim. I told him I wish they would and I gave him the name of the post and where to find it. Today the territory sales manager was in the office and he said this site was looked at by someone up the line with progressive. He also said a claims manager was supposed to look into the handling of the claim and make contact or have someone contact Cyote61. He didn't know what would be done but said someone was supposed to look into the handling of this claim. I just wanted you all to know that progressive did look at the reponses on this site.

Found this website and they claim to have a fix for sightglass http://www.newrivercyclesalvage.com/%20glass.html

Progressive isn't going to respond to an email when they have no information. I asked VGoose to send me his brothers name and or policy number and I will personally get a vice president of claims on the phone and let him log onto the web site under my name and read the responses about the claim. But without the policy number there is no way anyone from progressive can look at the claim and see what happened. I have met many of the people in the motorcycle department including the product manager for all of the united states and they stay in touch with me to find out how progressive stacks up in the market in my area. They also are constantly asking me what they can do to help me sell more progressive motorcycle insurance. I would love to have the information about this claim so I can tell them the way the claim was handled certainly doesn't help me or anyone else sell more progressive insurance. But if you aren't going to do something about it but complain to the people on this web site nothing can be done.

For those of you that have been through having your bike repaired through an insurance claim: 1. How does it work? 2. Will they "low ball" or fix it back to "good as new"? 3. Will they replace the "after market" stuff? 4. Will I have any "say so" in anything? Like, "Hey that part needs to be replaced!" 5. Will I have an option of keeping any of the old parts? I am with State Farm and have full coverage. Thanks for any help. The bike is in the shop and I am awaiting an "estimate". Shep

In September I won a bid on a Scottish Claymore carbon steel sword from a business called Sussen. Paid within minutes of winning the bid and began a long waiting session for the item to arrive. After a week of not hearing anything, I emailed them asking for a shipping status. A few days later I asked again for a shipping status. A few days after this I again asked for a shipping status, only this time I threatened to file a claim against them. Heard back from them that they were out of stock on that particular sword and would either refund the money or send it to me if I wanted to wait, so I waited. The following day I received email from them saying the sword was in and would be shipped the following day. Two more weeks went by and nothing was seen. So I emailed them again asking for a shipping status. Two days later I emailed them again asking for a shipping status and reminded them that I was still capable of filing a claim against them. Two days later I filed the claim with e-bay and after not hearing anything from them I completed the claim with PayPay. PayPal asked how I wanted to proceed, refund or the sword. Again I chose the sword. Sussen chose instead to refund the money. I filed negative feedback for the company as stongly as possible with only 80 characters. Now I've received email from a mediation company, hired by Sussen, to get me to recind my negative feedback, saying they did everything they could in good faith to make me happy. Don't know how many out there look at swords, but if you should, STAY CLEAR of any company with Sussen in the name.
