I ain't as young as I used to be...but, I still like to make sure I've got the right tire pressure. I ride a first gen. MKI and the way they are setup, it's difficult to use a tire pressure gauge. So, after fighting the bike a few times (the bike won), I decided to come up with a better mouse trap. It actually works pretty good, so I thought I'd share it. I took the manifold off an old discarded portable air tank to start with. It's basically a hexagonal metal pipe with several ports tapped into it. It had 4 - 1/8" NPT ports (only need 3) and a 3/8" which I capped. Add a hose with a self-locking chuck. Swap the original gauge (0-125 PSI) with a more accurate 0-60 PSI. I left the original safety (although it probably wouldn't trigger until after the gauge was gone). I set the regulator on my compressor to 60 PSI. Now I can just attach the chuck to the air valve on the wheel, add or release pressure as desired, and when finished remove the air chuck. I just have to remember to release pressure from the rig when I'm finished so as to not keep pressure on the gauge. http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n163/coy55boy/Misc/airpressurerig.jpg

Banking problem explained Young Chuck moved to Texas and bought a donkey from a farmer for $100.00. The farmer agreed to deliver the donkey the next day. The next day he drove up and said, 'Sorry son, but I have some bad news, the donkey died.' Chuck replied, 'Well, then just give me my money back.' The farmer said, 'Can't do that. I went and spent it already.' Chuck said, 'OK, then, just bring me the dead donkey.' The farmer asked, 'What ya gonna do with him? Chuck said, 'I'm going to raffle him off.' The farmer said 'You can't raffle off a dead donkey!' Chuck said, 'Sure I can Watch me. I just won't tell anybody he's dead.' A month later, the farmer met up with Chuck and asked, 'What happened with that dead donkey?' Chuck said, 'I raffled him off. I sold 500 tickets at two dollars apiece and made a profit of $898.00.' The farmer said, 'Didn't anyone complain?' Chuck said, 'Just the guy who won. So I gave him his two dollars back.' Chuck now works for Goldman Sachs.

I am looking for either a slightly used foam part of the drivers seat or a pillowtop seat. Was working on mine and kind of messed it up. Was able to temp fix it for riding but would like to have something better. If someone has a matched pair and I need to buy them both, I will contemplate it. Thanks for any help, chuck

From csmiles3, concerning the Guardian Bells on Ebay, but he didnt send it directly to me, it came to me thru a Yahoo group that I started 3 years ago that I use to promote VentureRider. I was really surprised to see that someone had actually joined VR after joining my Yahoo group, because I never researched the members list there against the one here, so I guess its about time I do that. So Chuck, thanks to you for doing that, because I never got around to it, because frankly, I didnt think that that site was doing any good, so now I will have to pay more attention to it. For those of you that are curious the name of the group is "83Ventureriders".

I figured this would be the best place to post this. I have access to an engine from and '83 VR. HOw much trouble would it be to replace the engine from an '86 VR with one from an '83? My bike has 115,000 miles and the '83 has only 24,000. If possible I would like to swap these engines. I know someone has done this, need to know what is involved. Chuck
