OK, I talked to two different guys at the International about having parts chromed. But as usual, can't remember their screen names. Need info on where to send parts to be rechromed. Don't want a cheap chrome job done that will peel and flake in a year,but don't want show chrome either. Anyone with info on where to get this done, it would be appreciated. Thanks

Seems like when I was a kid working on one of my old so-called "hot rods", that it was no problem to drop parts off at one of the two local shops that did chromework to get them prettied up a bit. I'd like to get the engine covers and a set of floorboards chromed, but have found that the shops that used to do this work have seemingly all dried up.....I'm told that our friends at the EPA have shut'em down because of the toxic chemicals used in the process. In any case, I'd sure like to find a place that I can send my parts to get chromed. Anyone out there have a shop they'd recommend? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. 88 Venture newbie.

I picked up a used VentureLine backrest. I'd like to replace the nylon friction washer beneath the hangers due to deterioration. But, can't seem to figure out the trick. The diamond shaped part in the middle rotates 90°. The hex keyed screw in the center will turn either direction without any effect that I can tell. And the chromed plastic cover won't come off without applying force and I'm reluctant to do that without knowing that's the thing to do. Guys, I would really like to find someone who has a front wheel for a 2nd gen that I could run while I am having mine Chromed. I would pay for shipping. I would like to find one close to Oklahoma if possible I will just need it about 5 weeks. I am also checking salvage yards but I really don't want to but one. It cost 275.00 to have your wheel chromed and takes 4 weeks or you can exchange for 400.00 so if shipping is 25.00 ea way and I could save about 50.00 to 75.00 that is worth a little trouble. Other wise I will prolly just wait for winter.

I have a couple of fancy chromed plastic first gen OEM horn covers that I don't need anymore since I went to air horns on both bikes. I am offering them 'free to good home' to the general membership? The OEM horns that came in them were junk and are long gone but these were too nice to pitch out. I have just designed the detachable tour pak my RSTD and was wondering if anyone knows if the 'front mounting hardware which attaches the stock back rest on my RSTD is also present on the Venture bike. also there is a thread hole on the chromed fender brackets which has chromed caps pushed into the treads, are these also present on RSV. i'm trying to figure out if my pak will work on RSV?

Friend of mine bought an "08" Venture "S". Lot's of shine. I did see some shine that I would like to get for my "06". I tried the Yamaha website for accessories to no avail. Attached a photo of the part I would like to find chromed. Does any know if Yamaha sells this part, or do would I have to get it chromed myself? Thanks

Looking for a custom aftermarket wheel for the front of my 06 RSTD. Does anybody know of anything that doesn't cost an arm plus a leg??? I have had mine chromed and it looks good, however I am now looking for something different. thanks, Jerry

I’m thinking of having the front forks on my 07 chromed. Has anyone ever done this? What might the problems be if I do this mod? It looks like all the parts I would need chromed are listed below. How difficult a job is it on a scale from 1 to 10 to disassemble and reassemble the front forks? I’m used to turning wrenches. Can anybody point me in the right direction to find a chrome front wheel for my 2006 RSTD? I sent mine off to be chromed and it seems to have been lost ???????? Or so I am told. In the mean time I am in search of a place that sells the wheels already chromed and would sell me one without doing an exchange. Or does anybody maybe have a front wheel for sale that I could buy and have chromed. Thanks, Jerry

I’ve been thinking I would like to eventually chrome the front-end of my 06 Black Cherry… forks, clutch and break etc. Has anyone done this and how did you do it? Did you send your parts in to be chromed (if so are you happy with how it turned out) or did you trade in your stock parts for aftermarket? Any tips, suggestions or cautions... I value your thoughts, ideas and opinions. P.S. I’m looking forward meeting many of you at the 2008 Rally in Kitchener, Cheers!

A few years age I remember coming across a website the sold alot of RSV chrome. I remember there was a MMRSV all chromed out. Just about everything that could be chomed was chromed, even rotor covers. Has anyone seen this, and what is the web site?
