As always, Craigslist cost me some more $$ today. Saw a simple ad for "cargo trailer" in the motorcycle section, clicked and it read "Shoreline cargo trailer. Works well". No pictures in the ad, no phone # but I sent a e-mail for more info and sent my phone #. I forgot about the ad then later this morning I get a call from the guy. I asked what kind of shape it was in and he said.....Well it has a few chips in the paint in the front from being towed and a small scuff in the paint on a back corner. I'm thinkin....wouldn't it be great if that were the ONLY issues?! I got the directions and headed over to look at it. It turns out he bought it new in 1981, used it gently for a few years then it sat in his barn "for a looooong time". His description was right on! When he first bought it he didn't like the short tongue and the way it towed and he wanted to get the ice chest out of the inside for more room so he made a new 1 piece tongue, added a rack for the ice chest, made a insulated cover for the ice chest then decided to build a rear bumper and have it chromed. He also said there were some problems with the wiring when it was new and instead of laying on the ground to work on the wiring,he built a really neat stand that slides under the trailer hooking on to the axle and rear frame section. Once the stand is under the trailer, you simply pick up the tongue and the trailer rolls on to the back and is VERY sturdy. This makes it a breeze to check the wiring, pack the bearings etc. He had the trailer stored on end in the barn for years. This demo of the stand gave me a good opportunity to inspect the bottom of the fiberglass and frame etc. Anyway, the fiberglass is in like new condition, the original paint is still in pretty good shape(good enough to use as is) and he included a chrome swivel hitch, the stand, the ice chest and cover and 2 new unmounted tires. It cost me about as much as a new HF tagalong would have but The Shoreline is built much better IMO. So far my only plans are to change out the bulbs for LEDs,clean, inspect and pack the bearings, mount new tires and change the plug out to one that will hook to my bike. I couldn't resist and took it to town, loaded up 80 pounds of dog food and a weeks worth of groceries and it pulled fine. I haven't had time to clean the barn dust off yet but it don't look too bad............ http://i47.tinypic.com/30139ea.jpg http://i49.tinypic.com/1zoak95.jpg

I'm looking for a camera to capture my rides. What do you recommend and why? Also would you recommend mounting to the bike, or the helmet or the riders chest?

All arrivals in heaven have to go through a bureaucratic examination to determine whether admission will be granted. One room has a clerk who inputs computerized records of what each applicant did on his or her last day of life. The first applicant of the day explains that his last day was not a good one. "I came home early and found my wife lying naked in bed. She claimed she had just gotten out of the shower. Well, her hair was dry and I checked the shower and it was completely dry too. I knew she was into some hanky-panky and I began to look for her lover. I went onto the balcony of our 9th floor apartment and found the SOB clinging to the rail by his finger tips. I was so angry that I began bashing his fingers with a flower pot. He let go and fell, but his fall was broken by some awnings and bushes. On seeing he was still alive I found super human strength to drag our antique cedar chest to the balcony and throw it over. It hit the man and killed him. At this point the stress got to me and I suffered a massive heart attack and died." The clerk thanked him and sent him on to the next office. The second applicant said that his last day was his worst. "I was on the roof of an apartment building working on the AC equipment. I stumbled over my tools and toppled off the building. I managed to grab onto the balcony rail of a 9th floor apartment but some idiot came rushing out on the balcony and bashed my hands with a flower pot. I fell but hit some awnings and bushes and survived, but as I looked up I saw a huge chest falling toward me. I tried to crawl out of the way but failed and was hit and killed by the chest." The clerk couldn't help but chuckle as he directs the man to the next room. He is still giggling when his third customer of the day enters. He apologizes and says "I doubt that your last day was as interesting as the fellow in here just before you." "I don't know" replies the man, "picture this, I'm buck naked hiding' in this cedar chest....."

My better half was actually paying attention when I mentioned a few months ago that I'd really like to get a full size professional Craftsman Tool Chest for the garage, so I could get things organized down there for once in my life. Well, guess what was under the tree? Yep, she got it for me for Christmas. It wasn't exactly under the tree, but the smaller top chest was, and then she led me to the basement where the larger bottom chest was hiding. It's gorgeous - - red, with the ball bearing drawers, liner inserts, a few organizer trays, and a 4X8 comfort mat for the floor and an adjustable-height rolling work stool with tool tray to boot. Guess where I've been these last few days?? I now have a VERY organized work area - - no more tools scattered in 12 different places or dangling on the peg board. I'm in heaven!

Just about got a turkey in the chest today. He was gliding across the road about windshield height.... Luckly.... with the help of my horn and braking, we didn't meet up. It got me to thinking about the time I rode in to PKB on my bike and a Mechanic there showed me scars on his chest and shoulders a couple years back. Said it was from a 20 lb. turkey strike, He was on a harley, without a windshield traveling about 60 mph. Took him off the bike an busted up his ribs... Didn't quite know wether to believe him or not... I'm a believer now.... This was about an 8 on the pucker scale! Just be careful out there...

My current Sears tool chest is full and I can't find anything in it because there's no room to organize. I've been looking at a bigger chest with different drawer sizes where I can store all of my tools including power tools. I can't justify the expense of the large Crafstman chests. I found this chest http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/navigate.do?dest=5&item=388158 at Sam's and it looks like it has plenty of storage and the price seems OK. It's made in Taiwan and I'm a bit concerned how well it will hold up over the years. Does anyone have any experience with this chest or the 42" chest that Sam's also carries? Thanks, Dennis

Just thought I'd post a picture of the trailer I ran down to TX to pick up a couple weekends ago. I'll get better pictures of it once I get the bike set up and it attached. It's a home made jobbie, and appears to be a tool chest mounted to a sprung axle frame. Lots of big LED lights on the back.. That's a good thing..

According to witnesses, biker was at the intersection waiting to turn. Woman came up behind him fast and close. He got off his bike and walked back to her SUV. As he was talking to/confronting her, his (false) teeth popped out. The woman, a licensed CCW holder, thought he was spitting at her and she shot him once in the chest with a 38. It appeared this all happened in the street and the woman did not exit her vehicle. She has not been charged. The biker was in surgery.
