Going to ride up to Ashville/Cherokee Wednesday night then Thursday morning jump on the Parkway in Cherokee to NC 18 on to Sparta then 21 to my brothers house in Virginia. I know it snowed in Va Saturday any bad spot on the Pway? Jumping off at Sparta becasue its closed right there for about 10 miles. My Brother and I will jump back on around Fancy Gap on Friday and go as far north as we can. If any one wants to meet up along the way or has any advisors please give me a shout.

Ended my job, placed the few possessions I have in storage, those that would not fit on the bike, and started the 09 Summer Tour today! Drove 366 miles out of Florida through Alabama finally stopping at James H. (Sloppy) Floyd State Park near Rome, GA. 366 miles in great weather, Bike with loaded trailer averaged 38mpg, not a bad day! Plan on seeing Lee University in Cleveland, TN, the Cherokee Nation in Cherokee, NC, and hitting the Blue Ridge Parkway tomorrow! Before this ends hope to visit Nova Scotia, Vancouver and everything in between. Should be a great summer! Visiting this site constantly for advice, insight, and recommendations helped in preparing the bike and trailer for this trip! Thanks to all!!

My brother and I are planning a trip in late September to the Dragon and on up the BRP. The first stop will be in Robbinsville to stay overnight and hit the Dragon/Cherohala the following day. After a day of fun there we plan to head over to Cherokee late in the afternoon and either stop there for the night or get on the BRP and head north for a few miles, probably Ashville or there about. The next day we will continue north until we decide to turn around and head back toward home. Are there any suggestions, from you who know the area, as what to see and where to eat? I'v been told the best streatch of the BRP is between Cherokee and Ashville. Is this true or have I been mis-led? How 'bout it folks. Let me hear from you...
