Hello everyone I'm new here sort of introduced myself here and posted pics of my "new" bike http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?137259-Welcome-to-the-forum-Harddrv1-from-Fort-kent-AB. Anyway I built a 3d printer a few years ago and to keep costs low was wondering if anyone has any 3d models of fairing for the 84 venture if so I would be grateful if you could share them or email them to me, Im not a great modeler but I may attempt to patch mine up the best I can and scan them to make them printable if I can. Or redesign them if I can but I'm hopping one of you has done this already so I can just use your thanks in advance

I've had two people ask me about the availability of the domed decals here: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/venturerider-merchandise/39088-venturerider-domed-decals.html I don not have any at this time. They are not cheap and I have to order a minimum number of them to get the best price. I have not ordered any because if there is no demand, I will end up sitting on the investment for a long time. So is there any interest? If so, I'll start taking orders and get them on the way but otherwise, will wait a while longer. Don

Anybody else here have Restless Leg Syndrome? What do you take for it or what do you do to help cope with it? I've been on Tramadol for quite some time and it worked well for me. It as also very cheap. But now it has been giving me migranes. So now I either deal with migranes, or I don't get any sleep. Thanks, Bill

I have J & M headsets and the foam wind socks have fallen apart, anyone have a good cheap source for replacements? J&M wants $7 for 2 ! There's gotta be somewhere better.

Susan found this for me today on ebay, and I figured I better run it by you fellers before buying it. There is precious little info like dimensions, etc. but the price is right, and it is stainless, so no issue with cheap chrome. I'd rather have the Yamaha part, but they are pretty $$$pendy... While grazing on Ebay in early Dec. 2011 I saw a 1986 VR ( item 150711597381, photos were still up recently), advertised as a project bike. Finally bid ended at $680, which I thought was cheap for such a fine older machine. Winning bidder never paid and I was offered the VR for bid price, shipping to my home added $400 but still cheap for a diamond in the rough. Found your very friendly and informative site while the bidding on the VR was still active and joined on ,12/8. As you have said best $12 I've spent. I've already found a very nice replacement seat,windshield and normal maintenance items, and of course downloaded manuals etc. Not surprising that a complicated machine with many electrical/electronic devices which are 26 years old (isn't that about 78 in motorcycle years) is in need of TLC. Along with working on the defects noted in Ebay listing a thorough fork and steering head rebuild/upgrade is planned.Pleased to see that several members have a machining background.

Hi guys and gals, Just added a 99 Venture with 55k to my Honda 1100 Sabre, which I love, but the Venture is popping on decel and has bad off-throttle responce so I think a rejet (cleanning at a minimum) is needed. Play around with Sabre jetting all the time so just need pointed in the right direction. Just ordered a service manual on CD. Came with new Metzlers, battery, clutch so she should be ready to go. Anything else I might need to check with this many miles? Valve adjustment? Thanks in advance. Oh ya, what's a decent driver backrest for cheap?

I was just wondering if anyone knows what the inside of the factory exhaust looks like. My 84 still has the factory exhaust on it. It has a few patches welded on it, and a few more pin holes. If feasable, I was wondering if one could cut it open, and put a new cover on it (just to keep it looking original)..........ok, just to cheap to go buy another one. Anyone have any ideas. CBMMA

For those that may be looking for a cheap GPS to play with. http://www.hidcountry.com has 4 choices of GPS on the clearance rack at $39 each. They are not the greatest out there but at least they are cheap. I have no clue as to the quality or performance of these units. Everywhere I found these same units online they were all over $100. I am considering getting one of them for the bike just because it is cheap and if it gets wrecked by rain or something, oh well, no big loss.

Will a 99 kickstand switch fit my 85?? I'm tired of playing with the one I have it just don't want to get better and there is one on Flea-Bay I could grab cheap.. I know I'm asking for trouble putting 2nd Gen parts on it. Probally slow it down quite a bit!!!

In my constant quest to bring new meaning to the phrase "cheap screw".....I'm currently looking for a way to replace my air cleaner elements that won't cost an arm and a leg. If anyone's got an idea for an alternate paper element (i.e. sourced from anywhere other than the factory)......or a completely different setup (but please not K$N....oops did I make a Freudian spelling error there?......) I'm open to suggestions.......just not expensive ones. Hey, I'm even up for crazy ideas like dry-cleaning my stock ones.......IF it would work! Thanks for anything, Mike

Have not posted in a while, but again I am looking for another ride. Needless to say I went and looked at the new 2010 Voyager 1700 and let me tell you it does not even come close to what the RSV is. Sorry to say but that bike was built cheap. The one I looked at the fairing was not even mounted straight. I dont know how many other people have the same thought's but that is my 2 Cents.
