I would like to know if there is a way to de-tune my range on the cb. I have the squelch set all the way up on 20 and I get chatter like crazy. My brother in-law has a Midnight and on the way to and from MD Saturday I was getting a TON on trucker chatter, he did not get any. My wife has a J&M on her Shadow and she does not get the chatter. I swear my radio must be picking stuff up from 20 miles away. It's very annoying. Makes it hard to listen to the radio. I almost had to turn it off on the way down. I do not want to hear all the other stuff, just the poeple I am riding with. Does anyone know how I can reduce the range?...........without breaking off the antenna!!!!

Clutch question? Slipping or catching? Vibration?
Guest posted a topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have a 2000 RSV and have noticed that when doing my low speed maneuvers I can slip the clutch to a certain point then it suddenly grabs. Is this a spring issue or time to replace clutch plates? It seems to grab more when it is hot vs. when it is colder. I have also noticed when I am at50-60 mph and trying to accelerate I get a lot of what feels like chatter. Maybe it is just a lack of torque, but in order to get any acceleration I have to shift down. The chatter or vibration is so bad it shakes the entire bike. I am thinking about doing a Barnett clutch and springs just to "fix" something, but thought I would check with the experts first. The bike has 30k on it and the previous owner did have a trailer hitch installed on it. Not sure how much abuse it got, but until I got it the bottoms of the floorboards were virgin. I am guessing I work the clutch more doing tight maneuvers than the previous owner would have done pulling a trailer. -
My dad and I do a lot of riding together. Before I purchased my 2nd gen. Venture, we both used the 2 channel Multi Sport Chatter Box(http://www.chatterboxusa.com/hjc_frs.html). My Chatter Box no longer works and am concidering getting a head set for the Venture. I am still unsure as to what headset to get because I want quality sound from my radio so I will probably have to dish out some coin and get the more expensive J&M headset. My question is can I communicate with a 2 channel Multi Sport Chatter Box using the CB on my Venture? I am by far no electronics expert, but looking in the owners manual for both, the radio frequencies are not compatible. If I cannot communicate with the 2 channel Multi Sport Chatter Box, what alternative do I have? Maybe it will be easier to have my dad purchase a Venture.
