Now that I have most of the wrinkles ironed out.. the old blonde seems to running like a top. I have put a few hundred miles on her and the last fill up shows 38 miles per gallon. Guess it is time to let her run me somewhere... so its off to Charleston sc for the weekend to visit a friend. Hopefully the journey will be as silky smooth as this v4 lol If any of y'all are in chucktown this weekend hit me up... Always for meetin and greetin fellow enthusiast! While in town I should be getting her loaded up with an led glow kit ... You know... To accentuate the safety chrome

We will be going to Charleston the 4th week in April arriving sometime on the 22nd. Was wondering if anyone around the area would like to have a M&E thinking about the 23rd or 24th not sure how long we will stay in the area before starting our trek further south and back home. Would like to spend some time riding and seeing the country or just a evening meal.

It was such a beautiful day for bike riding so we headed to Charleston to see Eck and Konnie! Eck met us outside of Charleston and along the way we spotted several fighter jets! After a great Chinese lunch (not withstanding the rice paper talk:no-no-no:!), we headed to their club house and the guys had several games of pool while Konnie and I visited! We had to head home and Eck rode out with us for a while. It was so good to see Eck and Konnie and it is a delight to have them closer to us!!! Thank you both for such a wonderful day!!!

For those who don't know, Star Touring is having it's SE Star BQ in Charleston this weekend. Those in Star Touring already know that. But a welcome to those who don't. The overall event does have a registration fee but to come by if free! It's at the Embassy Suites parking lot in North Charleston (near I-526 and I-26). The Yamaha truck will be there for demo-rides. Ultimate seat, Thunder Mountain lighting (Custom Dynamics), Amsoil, more,, and food vendors. Friday PM or Saturday, drop by and see what's happening. Most stuff does not require registration. (The Saturday BBQ and auction do, not sure about the Sat main ride.) There is a ride to the VA leaving at 7:30 AM Sat. You may also run into a few hundred of your best friends!!!! Join us if you can. We are planning to visit SC in a few weeks and want to visit Charleston and Savannah. Instead of staying in hotels we have found a reasonably priced house on Fripp Island which appears to be centrally located between the two cities. Does anyone know anything about Fripp Island? From the web it appears that the island is quite restrictive. It's about 80 miles from Charleston and 65 from Savannah. How long will it take to travel to those cities? I've got to pay for the reservation in the next couple of days if we decide to stay there. Thanks, Dennis

Time to get up on the old soap box after what I experienced in Charleston SC this past Sat. It seems Charleston has a new city ordinance, no motorcycles are allowed to park in public parking lots or garages. I found out the hard way, entered a parking garage and was chased down by an attendant and told to leave. After a brief discussion with the attendant I was informed of the city ordinance. I have made some inquiries into this matter and was informed that, get this, motorcycles are clogging the streets of Charleston and creating too much noise. I'll concede on the noise part, but clogging the streets. So, instead of ticketing offending bikes with loud pipes, they choose to discriminate against all bikes. Well, I was told I could park on the street in the metered spaces, which run for two hours before you need to put more change in. My time ran out and I ended up with a parking ticket to boot. To put it bluntly, I was totally pissed. Ruined what should have been a wonderful day. So now fellow Venture Riders, do we really want to go where we are not wanted? As much as I hate it, I won't be taking trips to Charleston, if they don't want my bike, they must not want my hard earned money. I plan on spreading the word to as many forums as I can. May even send a letter or two to a few magazines. Please feel free to tell others about this, I would like to think we as a group can change some attitudes towards riders. Let me know your thoughts. Thank you.
