PORK IN THE PINES I would like to offer a personnel challenge to all who are considering coming to the Pork in the Pines. Below are the number of people that actually signed the PIP book last year with the states/province that they live in. The challenge is to get the most people from any particular state/province and they will win a prize to be determined. (i.e first in line for the pig feed) or if possible a real prize. :whistling: For all those people from Minnesota you should take this as a personnel challenge so that we are not out numbered, after all the PIP in in your home state. The cheesheads :whistling:had a equal number of attendees and we all know we can't have that, even though we love them all we need to show some strength and team spirit. :crying: We had more Canadians "A" than from any one state, what does that say about their spirit? Some (Rick) even brought a free case of his favorite beer! :rotf::rotf: I don't want to be the only one talking Scandahovian to everyone and telling Ole and Lena jokes to myself. Ya sure you betcha. Lets get with it folks. Attendees that signed-in with state/province in 2011 We think there were more, but they didn't sign the book MO. - 1 NY.- 2 MN.- 9  WIS.- 9 :moon: Winnipeg- 4 Manitoba- 7 Texas- 2 Illinois- 1 SD.- 2 IOWA- 4 ND 2 Michigan- 1 Ok the challenge is on Minnesota! We lost both parts of the challenge from NARR group of Alabama, they collected more money than we did and they are only a group of about 36-38 members, we also lost out on the challenge as to who would have the most members there.........they had 2 more than we did and our membership way far out numbers theirs..........shame on us............ Now the real winners were the Kids at St. Jude, we raised a total of $4,420.00, by far exceeding our previous best. The NARR group raised $6,033.59, making the total donation to St. Jude $10,453.59!!!!!!! We met our goal of 10,000.00. and in losing still came away feeling like winners........but the real winners are the kids and the researchers at St. Jude. We also had a chance to interact with a very special patient that wanted to have his picture taken with us. His name is Brayden and is 3 years old and was undergoing treatment while we were there. I will post only 1 picture tonite and its the picture of Brayden and his brother.......this was a special time for us to meet and grant his wish of having his picture taken.

Glad to hear that the Vogel Rally was a success and that everyone made it home safe! Just as an update I would like to let the members know that the NARR group had another fundraiser this weekend and it turned out pretty good as well. We set up a booth at a local car show and sold popcorn, sno-cones and some of the nastiest messiest stuff that has ever been invented......also know as cotton candy! That stuff does not work well when it is 95 degrees and about 85% humidity but it sure does sell! We had a really good turnout and had a net profit of..... oh wait a minute that is supposed to be a secret! We have enjoyed this challenge but in the end the challenge is secondary to what our real goal is and we can't wait to see what these two groups have taken in together for the kids! There were actually two parts to this challenge, one was that the NARR bunch could bring in more money than the Ventureriders and the second one was that NARR could bring more people to St Judes for the tour and to present the donation. I don't know exactly how many folks will be coming from Alabama at this time but I would love to see more people from both groups than ever before.

While we were in the parking lot at St. Jude Hospital awaiting our tour guides, a gentleman who came with somone from Ala. approached me and issued a challenge. He was with the North Alabama Riders, which used to be a GWRR chapter. They have seperated themselves from GWRR and have formed a seperate group of wing riders. They wanted to know if we would accept the challenge that they could raise more money for St. Jude than Ventureriders. I didnt hesitate one moment and accepted it, because I know that we are up to the challenge, and second part of the challenge is that they would have not only more donations but more riders coming to St. Jude next year.............I have stepped out in faith on both parts and accepted it knowing full well that we are up to it........ So I am hoping some of the folks who will be hosting rallies, meet and eats and anything else they can do, will to step up to the plate and help us out. We have one year to fullfill this challenge and I am already tossing some ideas around for what I can do at Vogel. Know that this year with some help from many members we were able to raise almost $1900.00 and this was a year where we did not have a Tail of the Dragon @ Vogel to boost the tally, so next year I plan on at least doubling the amount that was raised by my effort. Right now Venturerider.org has rasied a grand total of $12,376.00 over 5 years. If you have any ideas for me or want to throw your hat in the ring, please let me know so I can start a list of who is doing what, I want to be able to document and keep a record of who is doing what. I am also hoping that those who organize something will be able to show up at St. Jude next year and deliver their donations in person instead of me or someone else being responsible for all the donations. :mo money:

I seen the Flander bars and the kit they sale to replace cables on a 07 RSTD. I really want to do this for a more comfortable riding position. My question is how difficult 1-10 is this to do one self. I guess my biggest challenge is the cable replacement especially the brake and throttle. Is this a straight forward job? Should I take it the stealer? Any recommendations would be welcomed. Thanks

I challenge Bongobobny! I will not post for an entire week on the site. This is not including Chat, though I have to keep it going cause mini will be out of town. So from now until the following Thursday morning I will not post or even log into the site. How is that Bob? I have plenty of wine, bourbon and beer stocked up, a baby blanket I am cross stitching, a book to read, some DVD's, presents to wrap, and ok heck I could even talk to Moped. My dog Cooper will be so excited. So what do you think? Can I do it? In some areas it is called rehab! Yama Mama

I recently, two days ago, moved up from a Suzuki GZ250 to an 1986 Venture. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to adjust to the bigger bike. Once I get going on the highway I am fine, but the starting up, stop and go traffic and trying to turn around on a two lane is a bit of a challenge. I am 5' 10",156 and small frame. Too much bike maybe or are there some tricks I am going to have to learn. Trying to keep from falling on my.......

I'm sure this has been covered before, but as the season gets in full swing I just wanted to remind everyone to fill out one (if not a few) of these and keep on your person and on your bike someplace. Emergency crews are also instructed to check under helmets for these. I challenge everyone to indulge me on this topic..... JUST DO IT !!! BTW there's no charge, then get them laminated.
