I'm 6 foot tall, weigh-in at about 280lbs, and carbon dated at around 71 years of age, and I can't get my '87 VR up on the centre stand on my own ! Is there a mod to make it easier so I can do it on my own ? Jim O'D..... Australia.

Too my BEARD and MUSTACHE, which I have worn since shortly after my first daughter was born in 1979. None of my five kids have seen me without a beard. My fellow employees of Sheehan's truck centre have registered with the MOVEMBER CAMPAIGN for PROSTATE and MENS CANCERS. As an incentive I have agreed to completely shave my face if donations from work hit $1,000.00. by november 1st.

Anyone here have a centre stand on their 2nd Gen RSV? Does it get in the way of anything? Easy oil drain access, ground clearances etc? I might be able to get my hands on one, and like the thought of having the bike in an upright position when doing light maintenance on the bike. thanks in advance..

I have always had a friend use a magnetic pick-up tool to hold the yoke up while I inserted the driveshaft. If you are working alone or don't have any friends, I made up this simple tool that worked well. My pick-up tool has a threaded end and interchangeable magnets, put a nut and a magnet on a bolt, pick up the yoke and adjust the nut to centre the yoke in the tube and put the driveshaft in. Maybe I was lucky but worked first time. I know you can use a piece of wire to do the same thing but this made it easy to centre the yoke. Just thought I'd pass this on for what it's worth. Doug

I'd like to know exactly where the centre of gravity is on the 86-93 Venture Royale. Obviously it's slightly forward of the centre stand but I'd like to know exactly. I can do the calculation if someone can just give me the weight on each wheel...no rider, nothing in the bags, full tank of gas. Does anyone have the numbers? (no smart comments, just the numbers, please)

Hey guys. I told you about my Central Australia trip middle of 2008. I think most of you are also aware that I'm a keen (pro)photographer. Did I also mention that I do 3D Stereo photography? Anybody familiar with it or even tried it? Have a look at these. If you want to see the 3D, just look at the centre of the big picture and cross your eyes until the images merge, and "Whammo!" There you have it. Can't see it - keep trying. It's a bit like riding a bicycle. Once you've mastered it you will have it forever.

I have a 1988 Venture Royale with MAC exhaust. Should the centre stand fold and lock in place properly with this exhaust? I notice the original factory exhaust is notched to allow for the stand to clear.....the MAC exhaust isn't. It appears my centre stand foot actuator bar/pedal has been reworked to allow clearance around the exhaust.....but it lacks proper spring tension and there is nothing to lock it tight. With poor spring tension it seems to bounce up and down easily. I have presently tie wrapped it to hold it secure. Please comment or give me direction on this. Thanks. rez
