I'm coming up on 28k miles and need to get my valves done. One local stealer quoted me $700 just to do the valves. Any one know a reliable / honest mechanic in the central ohio area? I've wrenched on a lot of bikes but this valve train is something i don't want to do by myself as I've never done one. Thanks Zinger

Any one in the central south central Tx area have a pop up that can be pulled behind a venture I could rent for a week in March.

Wow!! I have lived in central Oklahoma all my life, and have never seen such beautiful fall colors as we have right now. Understand, Oklahoma, especially central Oklahoma, has never been a fall tourist destination and still may not compete with the north eastern states. But for the area the colors are the best I have ever seen. Either that or my estrogen levels are way up and I'm turning into a girl!

I would like to buy a used Aluma MC-10 trailer. If anyone knows of one in the central Texas area, I sure would appreciate hearing about it...thanks in advance.

I would like to personally thank Dennis and Valerie Traynor for being the host of the Central Ky Memorial Weekend ride that myself and a bunch of other nice people I met attended. They were gracious to open up their beautiful home and feed a diverse group with a common love for riding motorcycles on Friday with two more wonderful days of riding and some of the most beautiful countryside to be seen. With this event even larger than last year, It is my hope that they continue to do this for all the fun that was had. If not, then it has been an honor and a privilege to meet these two wonderful people. The routes planned were great and the eateries that we attended were awesome. Again, Thanks form this big `ol Ky. boy from Catlettsburg. Harry Caines (a4pumper).

I just placed a new event on the VR calendar. After the success of last year's Central KY VR weekend Valerie and I would like to host the event again this year. I know we had a great time last year and met some new friends and we hope to do it again this year. I expect we'll follow a similar format and meet for dinner on Friday evening followed by rides on Saturday and Sunday. And depending on departure schedules we may be able to do something on Monday. Once we get an idea on the number of people coming I'll see what I can do about a group rate at one of the hotels. Here are a couple of links to discussions about last year's weekend and a few photos: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=32094&highlight=central+weekend http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=36100&highlight=central+weekend We look forward to seeing everyone in May. I know this is not motorcycle related but maybe there is an electrician out there that can steer me in the right direction. Had a storm Saturday night and now when my central air tries to kick on it knocks power out on different things in the house. It doesn't kick any breakers and it doesn't do it every time. You can either wait a little while and it will cut back on (sometimes) or you can go to the thermostat and turn it off and then the power comes back on. Then you can turn your central air back on and it will work. The power that goes out is not on the same breaker. It affects about 3 or 4 different breakers. It affects the washer (breaker by itself), dishwasher (breaker by itself), bedroom and part of the living room ( on the same breaker), and the central air (breaker by itself). So does anyone have any ideas of what is going on? Do I need to call an electrician or a heat pump specialist? I have checked the wires on all the breakers to make sure they were tightened and they were. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Tim

Apparently I've fallen a bit behind with the news. But I just found out that there is another FUTURAMA movie, "Into the Wild Green Yonder", AND On [ame=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/June_9]June 9[/ame], [ame=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009]2009[/ame], Fox announced that 26 new episodes will be produced for [ame=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comedy_Central]Comedy Central[/ame]. Which will be the 6th season to air in 2010 - 2011. I don't know if I can wait that long! What shall I do?!

Unfortunately I posted this in the Royal Tech area earlier, sorry. Was wondering if there was anyone near Central Mo (Sedalia) that already has a carb synch setup that would be willing to help me do mine. I am very leary about messing with the carbs by myself. I would travel to your place or you could come to mine. I would also buy dinner. Thanks, Donnie

I just got my RSTD back from the dealer and they said there is nothing wrong with it. I took it in because it: 1) is hard to start 2) runs rough 3) vibrates alot between 40 & 50 mph 4) pops & backfires on deceleration I replaced the plugs and that didn't help. Does it sound like the carbs are out of synch? Is there a forum member in central Alabama that has a Carbtune or a set of vacuum gauges that would be willing to help me with this? I love this bike, but it's really takes the fun out of riding when it is running so crappy.

Our VR weekend in Central KY is finally here and we've gotten off to a very good start. After the out of town folks arrived a relaxed a bit we met for dinner at a local BBQ spot and I believe everyone was well fed. It was nice to meet some new VR members, Bill & Marilyn, Joe & Donna, Kevin & Sue, Lynn & Janice, John & Teresa, Bob & Tina, and Dan. Now I won't take credit for remembering all of those names. That credit goes to my wife Valerie. Tomorrw we plan to meet around 8:30 for breakfast at the Cracker Barrel at I-75 exit 110 followed by a 125 mile ride through central KY. Everyone is welcome to join us. We should leave the Cracker Barrel around 9:30. I've attached a few photos from dinner tonight. More to follow tomorrow. It's going to be a great weekend. Dennis

Looking for someone in East Central Indiana that would let my wife and I at least sit on your beloved 80's vintage Venture. We are looking for a tourer and want one that still feels like a bike instead of a small car, and we think the Venture may be just that kind of animal. So if you live anywhere between Dayton and Indy somewhat along I-70 and are willing to let us try your bike on for size, let me know. Thanks, Greg and Michelle

I'm starting to look for a trailer to pull behind the Venture. I've pulled one a lot behind Wings in the past but I sold the old trailer. I'm now looking for a good used one if there's any available. I'm located in Central Ky. Eddie

Since I won't be able to make it to Ashville next week and I know there are few members around central KY I thought I would take a stab at hosting a M&E. Is there any interest? I'm thinking we could meet at the Cracker Barrel in Lexington off I75 for breakfast around 9:00 and then head off on a ride through some of my favorite local roads which would take us through some horse farms, along the KY river Palisades, Shakertown and possbily a ride across the ferry at Valley View. Any interest? Dennis

Were heading out "somewhere" tomorrow AM for 3 days. Where we go all depends on the weather. Plan A is to ride the backroads down the center of Florida:scorched:. Plan B is to head up into central GA. :rain2:Plan C might take us into lower SC. Plan D...damifino!!
