I was about to put some anti-squeak compound on the back of my front brake pads. I notice that the manual says 18 ft-bls of torque for the caliper retaining bolts. In the tech section there is a "service data" sheet that states 29 ft-lbs for the front brake caliper bolts. So... I'm assuming that the 29 ft-lbs is for the two bolts that attach the caliper "carrier" to the fork and the 18 ft-lbs is for the bolts holding the caliper to the "carrier". Can anyone verify that for me before I take things apart? Thanks. Andy

I just got a Trane XE80 downflow furnace/ AC unit out of a neighborhood house that's going to be demolished next week. The unit has a build date of 1995. As I said it's a downflow, can it be reconfigured to an upflow ? The furnace looks to be in excellent condition and was used until the home was vacated last year. If it can, I'll use it to replace the 1980 Carrier in the house and put the Carrier in the garage.

I could use some advice. I live in Thorp, WI. and I have 3 other mailboxes in front of my house on my property besides my own. The owners of the other 3 mailboxes won't help maintain the area in front of or around them so the postal carrier can keep our mail delivered. I don't think one of them is even being used. During the winter months, I have to keep the snow cleared out in front of them, or we get a notice from the carrier that they will not deliver our mail unless the snow is cleared away. Now I'm getting tired of maintaining OTHER peoples mailboxes. These mailboxes are NOT the responsibility of the USPS. Now how can I get these other mailboxes removed from the front of MY house? I'm sure I can't simply take down the mailboxes that don't belong to me and give them to the owner and tell them to take care of them themselves without getting into trouble. A federal offense? Does anybody have a possible solution or helpful advice as to how to resolve this issue without me resorting to being a jerk?

American heroism not so rare. GREAT FILM!!!!! This is 16mm color (not "colorized") footage, that you may not have seen, of carrier action in the Pacific. There wasn't much color shot in the '40s - extremely expensive then, with a complicated and exacting processing process. Enjoy... WW II : RARE COLOR FILM : AIRCRAFT CARRIER IN THE PACIFIC

Any one travel with a yorkie on a bike, need a carrier, got any ideas. How have you seen it done?

Just put together a carrier to mount a foot locker, cooler, or most anything else. Pictures in album in my profile.

Thought I'd throw out pix of the carrier Gary made. Works like a gem. We bought the box from Fleet Farm and he did a little upgrading. Sure get a lot of comments when we use it!

I would like to buy a used pet carrier, maybe a Road Hound for a 18 LB dog, a terrier type.

I have a small dog, 16 lbs, and have had him on the bike with me a few times. He seems to like it and was wondering if anyone could suggest a good carrier or perhaps knows of a used one.

I wanted a cargo carrier for a cooler and a bag rather than purchasing a trailer. Rivco makes a nice cargo carrier, 2 sizes, but rather pricey. Since I already had a Hitch Doc hitch on the bike, and no trailer, I had removed the hitch part, leaving two places for a 5/8" rod to fit in. Hmmm, I thought, How about making my own cargo tray? Had a guy weld up a tray out of stainless steel, drilled 1/4" holes in each corner to drain out water, several 1/4" holes around the lip. Welded some angle iron on the bottom for stability, and two pieces of 5/8" rod, drilled 1/4" holes to bolt it on where the hitch part was bolted on - and wallah - it worked just fine! Hope the pics come out OK.
