Due to the fact that a certian unnamed member lost his passport Ben (saddlebum) and Carl (marcarl) did not make it to the Detroit meet and eat. Rather then leave these two out standing members, out in the cold. A table for 4, was acquired at the China King restaraunt on the outskirts of Brantford. Dispite the short notice there was still a 50% turn out of VR members. Of course as is the norm Carl began the festivity's with a fine speech and since BradT was at the M&E in Detroit there was no one there to interupt his speech. Food was great and and at one point if you can believe it or not Carl was actually left speechless as you can see by the pictures below.

Carl and his lovely wife stopped by to deliver my T shirts. (Thanks for getting that all together Don! (XV1100SE) They had to get to their daughter's but had enough time to stop in and have a cup of coffee with us anyway. Great to see Marca again....and well....Carl too I guess! Unfortunately they were in the cage so I couldn't ride with them....but I still sent them on their way via a nice scenic back route.

I am honored to announce that we have added a new moderator to our VentureRider forum. Please join me in congratulating MarCarl to our fine team of current moderators. I am honored that Carl has accepted this sometimes thankless position. I am confident that he will do a great job.

I have been a member here a short time but have to give kudos where they are due. I did the PCW clutch kit to my 1999 and you all made it easy! Thanks for a great site and I would have never tore into the cluch without you all. Thanks Carl

Well, I guess Carl had a free day so he came to visit. I'm just under 2 hours away from Ottawa. Carl showed up about 11:30 or so and after we ate, we went to work. He helped me UNDO several things I had done wrong...and we got my 88 almost all put back together. I"ve still got to bleed the clutch, and finish putting some plastic on...and the wiring is a mystery in so many ways!!!! But it still runs and the important lighting works so I'll be able to get it saftied and on the road. I was hoping to have it on the road so carl could ride the 84 while I had the 88 but there was just to much to do ...and undo...then redo....then redo again properly! I still have to work on quite a few things...but winter is months long....and the riding season is almost over so non-essentials can wait! Many thanks to Carl for an enjoyable and productive day. I learned a lot.

We'll be heading out in a wee bit, pick up ibents and Pat, and off we go to Kitchener to add inches to the waistline, lbs. to the overall mass, and bend the ears of probably far too few who don't want to hear far too much from myself and Beth. Add to this that Carl is running the show...and look out! We're gonna have a party in Bongobob's room before the great event...or maybe that is the great event? Who knows? It's great to get together with everyone, new friends and old, older in Carl's case..lol! Looking forward to the great event, it'll be a great one, as all of Carl organized doooooooos are! gunk:shock3:

Well ....We didn't make it home, But we made it to Sturbridge, Mass. Going to see the Grand-Daughters in the mourning!:dancefool: Good road and weather all the way here to the Comfort Inn. Only problem we had was when we stopped for lunch , was that Carl and the rest of them Crazy Canooks had stirred up a hornet's nest with the waitress. I thought she was going to put a Knot on Carl's head......she was a tuff one . Tougher than Carl will admit ! But she was Good . Should have had her at the Pizza Hut Friday night. BEER30

Marca and I are on our vacation, started Sat and spent the weekend with Wizard765 and Robin, had a great time riding the Muskokas in Ontario and staying with Uncle John and Aunt Mary. Left them on Tuesday and headed for Bancroft. Today started just as it was supposed to, beautiful sun, warm temp, awesome scoot and some great roads to ride. We ended up going down this scenic route that started out paved but soon turned into hard pack, going over hills and around corners that would make one wonder if it was a road at all sometimes. Beautiful place to ride, tree cover and right through the bush, did 48 km in about 3 hours, a real speed demon I was, average about 25 km\hr. What a relaxing time, although at times it made me wonder, Well after lunch and heading down the 620 we came to a roadside rest stop, and decided it was about time to check the water temperature to make sure all those folks out on the lake were safe enough. Left turn into the rest area, and scamper headed for the shade, made a sharp turn to the right at the end of the parking area, and then proceeded to dump off both her passengers, NOT nice I say, after all the tender guidance I gave her all morning, she now decides that Carl and Marca must get off now,and that with no warning. She could have let us do this right, but you know how women are sometimes. Well it all turned out quite respectful, Marca had her first encounter with being dumped, Scamper learned that it can cause some hurt and Carl was releaved that Marca climbed back on as though this was a normal happening. Looking forward to tomorrow and the days to come. Carl

Went for cruise stopped in and visited Wizard765 and then across over to visit Marcarl . I totally enjoyed meeting them they are extremely nice people. The ride home however was chilly, once the sun vanished the thermometer fell big time. By the way Carl I did manage to wait untill I got home before eating all that jerky, but once I did I could not stop until it was gone. that is good stuff.:7_6_3[1]::7_6_3[1]:

I got too rough with the carb sync screw for #3 and stripped it out. I was looking at the parts fiche on Flatout but can't seem to identify the screw I need. Anyone know the part number or the screw size I need? Thanks. Carl

Thank You Carl and Marca… … for hosting such a great meat and greet! It was a tremendous pleasure to meet with you once again and now your wonderful family. Outside of your hospitality the other outstanding thing was the spirit of friendship among all those who attended. Even though many of us were meeting for the first time there was comfortable air of contentment and a genuine interest in each other. A special thanks also to all the group leaders, it was a great relaxing ride and you got us there safe! It was an absolute pleasure! PS The food was great and I thought the ‘First Gen’s’ did a pretty good job to keep up!!! Charlie

Well I think Marcarl must still be in shock after my visit yesterday. My phantom wife finally met Carl ( Marca wasn't home) after we left Norwich Ont. for a drive(in her new Sport Ute) not the bike.(last minute decision). We went out to check his bike to see if I had an idea why his bike might be acting the way it is --but I wasn't much help. She said she would try and come to the meet & eat in May .WE also gave her a look around the shop. We had a good visit for about an hour or so and it was time for Carl to finish up his closing the shop and then go for a ride to check-out his bike. Hope it went alright.
