Went camping this weekend with Dokon and Missy. We were trying out a new place right across the street from Deadwood. First off this is a really new place and nobody was there but us. Bathrooms are great they also have a laundry room. Cost? How's $15 to tent camp per night? I'm not sure how much it is for RV's I think it's around 35 or 45 a night. The man that owns it is really nice he came by when we got there and again when we were leaving to chat. They do have a pool but it is extra to use it I think like $6. Not unreasonable since the camping rates are so cheap. Plus they do have a small camp store. So you will see pics of us all camping, across the street eating at Deadwood, playing putt putt then ADC and his wife and son Josh stopped and we all had ice cream. Plus I posted pics of the campground mostly the bathroom. Talk about quiet. Once Deadwood shuts down for the night that's it. Will give us some more options when we have meets there for those who are willing to camp. There are no cabins. Margaret

We will be heading out soon for the Georgia area with the RV and RSV. Since the wife will not tent camp we like to take the RV to some state camp ground them hop on the RSV and ride from there to see the area. We might do an overnight in a hotel if the loop is more than a one day ride. Generally we haul the unigo with the 2 Border Terriers, they love to ride. We did 3k in the west last summer this way. I was hoping that I could get some suggestion on where to go in in the Southern mountains, we will end our trip with a stay at the Vogel event

Hello All, I know this has been done before but thought I would ask for some suggestions on my upcoming trip. I live near Albany NY (upstate) and plan on riding to Clarkesville Ga. to see my brothers new cabin in the woods. Original plan was the wife was to ride along but she has gotten cold feet and is planning a trip to Detroit (??) to see our son. Soooo, a buddy may join me on his ElectraGlide but has not committed, I'm going solo if need be. After a long tough winter working on a new building in the Catskill Mts. I am in need of this ride! So any suggestions are welcome - thinking of the Skyline / Blue Ridge (did that 30 yrs ago on our honeymoon in a cage) and the Cherohala, Dragon, etc. Gonna make the ride enjoyable both ways as I have 10 days or so. Plan on riding with my brother from his camp after arrival on day trips. Probably do the Dragon then as it is not far from his place. One thing I am thinking of, is bringing a 2 man tent and bag to camp out a couple nights - never would have happened if the bride was along but I love it and can save a few bucks as well. Any good campgrounds on the way down or back is appreciated. Will take alternate route back so as to see as much new area as possible. Departure date is in limbo pending close out of the project but in the range of June 10 - 15. Off from work until July 5 but have plans to get back to our camp on Lake Champlain for 4th weekend or before. So fire away! I can't wait! :cool10:

Anybody else planning a Spring Break? My wifes favorite place on Earth...is Hatteras Island and the little community of Rodanthe.Call it a Spring Celebration. We are celebrating 30 years of marriage later this fall, and last month we paid in full with Cash the remaining balance on our 4 acre Camp. I had originally planned a week off in April to cleanup around the Camp but the wife is between Jobs right now and needs a break so we negotiated a special rate deal yesterday on the same house I'm renting in June.Maybe I should just leave her down there for 2 months.Hey Mini could you put TROUBLE up for 2 months? H.I. April 9th for a week.

Anyone got any info on the facts that Camp Fuel has the same ingredients as Sea-Foam? Tried to ask this question at Maint Day and didn't care much for answer I got so I'll take it to the experts. If Camp Fuel has the same ingredients as Sea-Foam what is it missing? Could we make up a cheaper Sea-Foam? We don't have the 44 stuff around here and I really don't want to know about it. I have found Sea-Foam to be some great stuff but they are pricing themselves out of the market or at least my pocketbook. But I bought a gallon this spring. I have been mixing things to try to come up with something that works as good but little afraid of some of the harsher ones. Any Ideas???

I would like to find a PowerPack / Portable Power Supply that does not have an air compressor or the jumper cables. Is there such an animal? I need it to run my sleep machine when we camp and kayak. Anybody know if there is such a thing? Thanks, Ross

We made it into Nova Scotia today. In my opinion it pays to travel in the U.S. Our typical fill up in the states for the two bikes was around $20. We found a camp ground in Jonesport, Maine $15 with hydro. Typical hotel $55. In Canada, Filled up today $33, Camped last night in a provicial camp ground $38 + $16 to get into the park, tonight $110 for a room. We are enjoying ourselves, nothing better than riding down a road. We had a very friendly boarder guard the other day. I went though first and he asked me if the usual questions and then asked if I was traveling with the bike behind me. Ya, thats my wife. He said, I'll give her a hard time then, lol He told her I had said she's smuggling in heroin, she replied, he would say something like that. Then she added I've gained a few pounds while in the states, your welcome to take that back. If I could do that everyone would be coming to Canada.

OK its my first time to MD. Now besides any parts for mintenence, Is there anything I kneed to bring? I understand toilet paper is a comdity that should be brought also. Now my wife asked and my answer was I dont know. So here goes. Since Don is nice enough to let us camp in his yard, what does every one do about a shower? Im sure we can arrange something but she was just wandering. David

Here's something that might be of interest to others as well as myself. I see on this site that a lot of you have travel trailors behind your motorcycles. How many of you actually camp along your journey? If you do, where are some of the places that you've stayed? What to look for in a camp site? What are the costs involved? Facilities nearby? What do you pack? Just share some of your experiences. Good and bad. Might be interesting to see what this type of ad-venture is all about!!!

I am reposting to get a head count on who is attending the Car and MC show in NORTH BRANCH MN on June 13th (Saturday) from 9 AM to 2 PM. It is $5.00 to display your bike or free to attend. I was thinking if there was an interest from people I would have a BBQ during the day and camp out over night for those who would like to attend. I have an acre to camp out and on, a nice area with a fire pit. Gas grill for BBQing and just good camaraderie for those in attendance. If interested please let me know and I will start a list in this posting so people can see that your attending. Anyone and everyone is welcome. Oh I forgot there is a DQ in town. After all this is an eating club with a riding disorder. RIGHT? Below is the list of people that have expressed interest. What I need is a head count so I can get some hot dogs and hamburgers. Please confirm that you will attend and how many. I will keep editing my list with up dated info.
