Hi all, Being a lucky dog, I got in the mail the Sena Bluetooth communicator with the built in video/still camera. It is now a permanent fixture on my everyday helmet. No more one handed photos using my $700 iPhone ! @cowpuc has a lifelong photographer on the back but not all of us have a dedicated pillion like "Tip". This Sena unit is all it is cracked up to be! I hope you enjoy the read. Comments are always welcome https://ultimatemotorcycling.com/2021/03/26/sena-10c-evo-review-motorcycle-bluetooth-intercom-camera-combo/ VentureFar...

Just saw that Web Bike World had picked this as one of their products of the year. I've never even heard of it but I know there was a recent discussion here about the best action cameras. At a list price of $399.00, it had better be very good. Sena Prism Review - webBikeWorld

*Disclaimer* The action photos do not contain any RS/RSV's. They were taken from a RS. Instead of installing a forward facing or awkward looking helmet cam, I placed a cam facing aft, 180 degrees relative. Right now its a hard mounted bracket, so I get a lot of vibration on the video. It works well for grabbing screenshots from group rides so far. These are from 7/11/15 trip from Houston, TX to Shiner and Gonzalez. Camera is a Mobius action cam with the "A" lens (90 deg field of view).

I have a GoPro HERO camera with all the included mounts. I've scanned the forum here for mounting suggestions. I'm still a bit unclear on where best to put the mount/camera. I would like to have a central location (suction cup on gas tank?). I do not want to helmet mount the camera because I tend to "lollygag" (look around a lot!!) and that would cause the video be rather erratic. I would like the central/middle location so that the instrumentation is also visible if possible. What are the opinions/problems with mounting on the fairing lower or even the front fender? Also...the camera does not have a safety lanyard. I can rig up a nylon cord of course but was also wondering if anyone has another recommendation?

Okay, I'm home. The first thing I did was to strip off all my clothes , and then jump into the hot tub for about 45 minutes. That is a lot longer than normal use, but I needed to melt some of the Alaska ice I brought home with me. Ride was interesting, and an experience. The BMW sidecar rigs were fun, and it makes me think about conversion of one of my bikes. Fairbanks was colder than ^$#@*, and Prudhoe Bay was about 30 degrees warmer than Fairbanks, due to drier weather. It will be some time before I ride to Alaska again in the late Fall, just before Winter sets in. Have done it three previous times, but those were all in the Summer. Now I can say I have scratched that itch. If you want pictures, which I know is one of the first things some of you ask for... ... ...are you still waiting? Well, my brilliant riding partner on the R12GS had his camera in his tank bag, rather than his jacket. And, since he made certain that it was fully charged up before he left, he did not bother to bring his charger. By the time we got to Prudhoe Bay, his camera was almost frozen...to digital death...and would not function at all. We waited until the next morning to leave, and hoped the camera would be thawed out, but when he did try it the next morning, the battery was below functioning level. No way possible to charge his battery, so he...literally...threw his camera into the Arctic Ocean...he was so mad. Say goodbye to one Sony Cyber-shot. I did not take a camera with me, because he said he would bring his. The Super Tenere' again worked excellent, as did his (my old bike) R12GS. BTW, the total trip was 5120 miles, and was done in just under 8 days of riding. Close to half of the riding was done in the dark, meaning...at night, because it gets dark really early up there. Now time to get ready for Christmas. So, what have you folks been up to? Eh ?

Well I ordered a Sports-Vue 360 cam corder for $185.00 and I received it with in a week or less. Nice size little camera. It comes with a remote so I took it hunting with me to capture the BIG BUCK coming in. Played around with it for awhile in the woods strapped to my head and mounted it in the truck for the trip to and from hunting. When I went to watch the great movies I filmed it wound not play them. Disappointed I contacted Sports-Vue on there web sight. I told them what it was doing. The same day I e-mailed Customer Service, Jason contacted me and told me it had a corrupt file on the memory card and I would have to delete that file. You can't do it with the camera so you have to do it on a computer. I told him this will be very annoying out in the field if we are trying to watch a play back as I was trying to do last night. He e-mailed back and said quote,"Try recording a few more videos and see if it does it again. If it does, I can send you out a new camera". Well it did it again and I let him know. This was his reply. Quote, "I'm sorry that the camera is not working. I set up a RMA for the bad camera, I will ship the new one today with a return shipping label. Send back the camera only, keep all of the accessories". And this is exactly what he did. The new camera and all the accessories came in less than a week. This was this past Saturday so I have played with this one for a couple of days. This camera is capable of "Time Recording", set the time to start and stop recording. "Motion Detecting" It will record once it detects motion and you can adjust how long it will record after it detects. It also does "Still Pictures". The videos and still pictures are very sharp. It also records sound if you want it to. I was very impressed with customer support and I am now impressed with the Video Camera. Just passing info on if anyone is interested in a Sport camera.

I thought I should take a ride thru Wascana Park in Regina SK. today before the first frost of the season that is forecast tonight takes most of the leaves. It was a good time to try out Drift camera and take a short ride thru what is touted as the largest urban park in North America. Then I went into downtown a bit until the 2gb card filled up. Ive got the Drift set at 1080 res but I am sure that You Tube really drops resolution. I am really happy with the camera and mount it in a couple of places on the bike, but still like the low mount point on the front crash bar the best for around town. Brian

Looking at getting a camera that Nancy can use while we are riding so she can take pictures while we are rolling. Hoping to get recommendations. We went to a camera store and the one they are recommending is the Canon Powershot D20 12.1mp 5x optical zoom with 28mm wide angle lens, digital zoon 4x 3" lcd waterproof (to 33 feet), shockproof (up to 5', temperature resistant (14 to 104F) gps tracker 1080P for video shutter speed 1-1/1600sec auto sensitivity - ISO100 to 3200 (optimal ISO auto set) built in flash continuous shooting - 1.9 shots/sec This would be for still shots, small percentage video. Want something waterproof (obviously) that has a fast shutter. Suggestions?

Since I'm getting ready to ride to Montana in a couple of weeks I thought I needed a cheap video camera to mount on the handlebars. I tried my compact camera and didn't like that so I shopped around for a FLIP type camera. I bought an inexpensive Kodak Playsport camera for about $80. It turns out it is no better on the handlebars. Too much vibration in the bars to make a good video. So I'll probably abandon that idea and just let Valerie shoot over my shoulder as we go across Beartooth and Going to the Sun. However, I had some fun with the camera tonight anyway. The Playsport is water proof to 3 meters. And, since our dog is crazy about the water I thought I would see what I could shoot. Here is a link to a simple video I put together of the dog in the water tonight. www.traynorphoto.com/timbersplash.wmv It's worth 80 bucks just to play with around the pool. Enjoy. Dennis

If anyone is in the market for a video camera to mount on your bike this is a good deal. Its not HD but does a pretty good job. Keith http://www.visions.ca/catalogue/category/Details.aspx?categoryId=683&productId=7107&sku=X170

What its worth department After doing a lot of reading/research, I decided to order a Canon T2i DSLR Camera. The average price I found for the camera with the normal Canon 18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6 lens is $580. (amazon) USA Warranty...Free Shipping. I ran across certifieddigital.com that listed the camera for $449.99(as above). certifieddigital.com is a waste of time....total BS! Placed order via website....got an e-mail requesting I call. After 25 minutes of refusing to buy extra batteries and etc. they told me insurance was $75..........Order Cancelled!!!!

Has anyone installed a "Rear View Safety Camera System" on their Venture? If so how is it working for you?

Looking to upgrade my digital camera from a point and shoot to an SLR Digital, I hear a lot of good things about the Canon EOS Rebel. Any others out there that I should consider. Money is a concern, trying to stay under $500.00. I know we have a lot of camera buffs here and hopefully they can help me with this decision.

Here's my pics of the ride. My husband hid the camera for much of the trip, was very good meeting everyone. Hope to get out more. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v281/GAWildKat/Vogel%202011/#!cpZZ3QQtppZZ28

For years I used a Cannon AE-1 film camera that I have from 24mm to 405mm lenses. I took a lot of pictures and felt I had a great deal of control of the pictures I took. Now, I have an L110 Nikon digital that takes good pictures, but even with all the different settings the camera has, I feel I have very little control of the camera. It also frustrates me that the camera does not always respond instantly to when I push the button. I must admit that I like the immediate view of the taken picture and the ability to load the picture on my computer and view it and send it around the world very quickly and the ability to delete the picture without burning film. But, I am still not happy with the general use if the Nikon. I hate to kind of "dumb down" on my photographs, but that seems to be the trend on many of the digitals. Do others also have this problem? I'm looking for a camera to capture my rides. What do you recommend and why? Also would you recommend mounting to the bike, or the helmet or the riders chest?
