My Wife and I found a good place to eat in Batesburg Leesville, SC. I got a Burger, just to try it out. It's a 1/2 pound patty, loaded on a homemade bun with chips on the side. Set me back $5.79. The places is called Wiz's Eatery. All roads leading to Batesburg are good. No traffic, in the country, and acessible to people from GA. I'll meet you there.

Just thought I'd warn everyone about how useless OnStar is so you don't waste your money like we did. Long story short, we decided to try it on my wife's Yukon as she drives across the mountains quite a bit. We haven't needed it for almost a year until during the big snow and ice storms we had in December. We pulled to a stop at a stop sign and the road angled towards the ditch. Well it was so icy that when we stopped we slid directly sideways onto the top edge of the ditch. We couldn't move by ourselves and people that tried to help would just about slide in with us as we would just go deeper as it was so icy. So we decided to use our OnStar as we had paid for it. When we called the rep looked up where we were located and said "oh, we can't send anyone out as it is our company policy to not dispatch anyone when it puts them in danger and with the snow and ice it will so we can't". He told us we had to call a tow truck or the police on our own as nobody was hurt. I was ticked off, let him and the supervisor know that we would be canceling as I say very little use for it when it was dry and warm out. I also told him I would be posting it on this message board and he told me that wouldn't affect their business one bit so go ahead. Not real interested in customer service! We called a tow truck and they wouldn't come without the police calling them. When we called the sherriff, his response to our OnStar issue was "yeah, I hear that quite a bit. for every one person they help, I hear of 5 others that they wouldn't". So be warned!! Big waste of money IMHO.

Let me begin this post with saying I am laying no blame for the condition of this memorial to the ones who at one time may have been responsible for its upkeep. I am also not looking for any thanks for cleaning up this memorial or the upkeep I will do in the future. I am an Ohio Patriot Guard and damn proud of what I can do for the Vets that served our country. I myself am not a Vet. I am an ex police officer and understand what sacrifice means. My girlfreind and I started walking our dogs at a local University. We discovered a memorial to the Vets of the Vietnam era that was in poor condition. I called the groundskeeper of the University and was directed to who knows who. Some guy called me back and I asked for permission to take care of the site. Sure he says, do your thing. I called the Dean and made sure I had permission. She was very cordial and said she would look into the matter and call back. I am still waiting for that call. My partner Char and I cleaned the stone and killed the weeds. We laid mulch and straightened the flags. I added a proper 3x5 American flag to the site. I feel better now. I have enclosed a pic of Char with our results. What I would like the members here is to check on the sites they know about that may need some care. I will retire in a number of years. I know the PGR would keep me busy. In addition to those duties I am now considering making it an ambition to hunt these places. WW1 Vets, Civil War Vets or any forgotton place. My Uncle Johnny died in Nam. This is special to me. http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w109/chromeandleather/100_2447.jpg

I just wanted to let everyone know how pleased and professional this company is. One of the most pleasurable company to deal with. I have been working with Jim to get better braking power on my dad's 07 trike. He sent us new brake shoes and the larger rotors right before Christmas. During the time I was at dad's we worked on the bike. The brake pads didn't fit the calipers so we just didn't use them because the ones on there were still good. Went to put the wheels on and they didn't fit, wheel hit the caliper. So I called and got Jim's voice mail saying he was out until after the holidays, expected really. I called today and left a message for him to call me back. He did promptly and now he is going to send new calipers with all the fittings to get all the new stuff on. I am really happy this company stands behind their kits and helps owners of older models upgrade to their newer equipment. If or when I get a trike it will be a Hannigan for sure.

Well Christmas was a great day. Spent with the family enjoying good food and good company. The kids all left in the evening. Sharon and I cleaned up and kicked back and relaxed. I fell asleep on the couch about 10 or so a friend from CA called woke me up. I noticed that Sharon had gone to bed. My friend and I talked about a hour or so had been a while since we had talked. While we were talking I noticed a little jaw pain but didnt think nothing of it. We hung up and I finally fell back asleep. about 5AM I woke with serve jaw pain, arm pain and chest pain. Sharon just happened to wake up and asked if I was alright and I told her I have issues. lol Well smart girl that she is she called 911. First responders were here within 5 mins and I was on my way to the hospital 30 miles away in Mountain Home AR. To my surprise they found 3 blocked arteries in my heart. one 99% blocked which they put in a stint. one 90% blocked to be stinted in the next few weeks and one 45% blocked to be treated with meds. After 3 days in hospital Im home relaxing and feeling so much better. So here is to a better year.

Yesterday I tackled the project of a coolant leak on my '86. The hose that went from the thermostat to the radiator was deteriorated and seeped fluid. The part number for that hose called "Hose 3" is 26H-12578-00-00. It has been discontinued by Yamaha, boats.net said they had it for $24.26 plus S&H. I bit the bullet and ordered it from them:mo money:, it did not ship and i heard nothing from them so I called and they said they don't have it and can not get it . So I went into AutoZone and gave the old hose to the lady at the counter and sure enough they had an almost EXACT one in stock! I had to trim less than an inch off each end and it fit perfect! The AutoZone part number is A71651 at a cost of $4.99 Long story short.....Yamaha part #26H-12578-00-00 = AutoZone part #A71651 (need to trim just a little off each end)

Yesterday around 1:00pm I felt a slight pain in my right elbow, by 4:00pm it hurt like hell just to move it, by 7:00pm it was swelled up three times it's normal size and could hardly move it. 10:00pm it was swelled up, won't bend and turning purple. Called a friend of my Daughters Mother to see if my Daughter could spend the night so I could go to ER. Got to Er and set and set and set until they finally got me in and took x-rays. I have an infection in the fluid sack of my right elbow, pumped me full of antibiotics (after blowing out a vein in my left arm) and gave me a script for more antibiodics and sent me home at 5:00am. Called my family doctor and he said they should of drawn some of the fluid out to see what kind of infection I have, so he's waiting for the hospital report to see if anything else needs to be done. Now I hurt like hell, can't sleep, can not hardly use my right arm and drinking wine with my left hand with the hope the wine will let me sleep. If this is a sign of old age, I vote NO.

Was in a rush to get a back tire put on today and called one of the stealers that I had used when I had my V-Star. Called and got the price of $150 for the Metzler tire and $55 to put it on. After I got there, the $55 turned into roughly $180 with one excuse after another. I'll be pulling the wheel off tonight and take it somewhere else. While I'm that far down, i might as well add in a few grease zerks.

I felt like I “starred” in it, this afternoon. Bulldozing a steep patch of woods out at the farm when all of a sudden I’m feeling this immense pain on my face, ears, neck and arms, akin to being stabbed repeatedly with a ice pick. Then I noticed the black hornets all around me and my vision started to blur. I throttled back the bulldozed turned the key off and jumped off the right side. Right into a large patch of briars, but, I didn’t feel that as those winged bas&$%ards were still after me. I ran down the bank pulling my tee shirt off as it was covered in hornets. Got very nauseated and headed for the road to flag down a car. Very sick on the stomach. No one stopped.... four cars went by.... Walked to the neighbors house , no one home... Well I climbed up a hill to where I could get a cell phone signal and Called Penny, she came right away... (15 miles away) Mean while unbeknownst to me, mom had called the ambulance Penny got here and after looking, determined I only had 20 or so bites and my eyes were glazed over. Well, mom called said ambulance was on the way and I told her to cancel it. She said 80 hornets will kill a horse but I told her I wasn’t bit with 80. so........... Went to garage to find me a little payback... in the form of a can of wasp and hornet spray . Got the whole way (300 yards) to where nest was. It was hidden in honeysuckle and was 5 ' from the bulldozer seat.and although the can was completely full, it had lost all pressure over the years and it dribbled out. Guess that payback will have to wait... Then I told Penny I was going to ride the bike back, but when I went to put the helmet on $#@^&*(( it hurt bad)) So glad she brought the car. The bikes still at the farm. My ears are still hurting as I write this 5 hours later So... How was your day?

There was a thread (I couldn't find it again until after I posted this) where a member claimed a seemingly unbelievable distance travelled in a 24 hour period. I did some research and I was convinced that the truth was being stretched. I called him out and basically called him a liar. (I called "BS") He was good enough to PM me with details and collaborating evidence proving that he certainly did accomplish that amazing ride! So...once again I find myself apologizing for shooting my mouth off. Miles, I am very sorry to have insulted you and for publicly casting doubt on your word. You know....I really am a nice guy! I just seem to hide it well.

Hi, anybody live in or around Fullerton California that wouldn't mind bringing a message for me? I have a Rivco spin on oil adapter for my Mk1. What I'm missing is the NUT that holds it on the bike. Does anyone know the size or better yet does anyone have one they would be willing to part with? I called Rivco and the whole thing is discontinued and they could not or would not help me at all..

i just want to say to every one i know how important leather and ridding gear is. but today i was behind two bikers who where in full leather. at a stop sign. well one of them started to kind of rock side to side on his bike. i thought he was just doing it to keep his balance. when all of a sudden the bike and him tipped right over to the right. right into the biker next to him taking both bikes down to the pavement, the one ridder managed to keep his bike on the crash bar. the other one did not look good at all. by the way i put my flashers on and got out to help. i called 911 and the ambulance attendent said it looked like a heat stroke? the guy was screaming in pain his arms and legs cramped up so bad they had a hard time getting a needle into him. we pushed his bike off to the side of the road. and called his brother to come and get it. nothing major broke on the bike. sso just saying be safe out there we all like a nice day to ride but it,s 91 out here today. and that heat can kill you.

During the last week of December 2010, we admitted my wife to the hospital for severe abdominal pain, went well was discharged before New Years. Two weeks later she called the business office of the hospital to ask for hardship application to see if they would reduce the bill a bit. She was told by the person she talked to that insurance had not paid off yet and to wait so they would know the actual amount. We got the bills from the specialists we saw right away and made payments on them. Fast forward to December 2011, was at a birthday party for granddaughter, when my wife's ex-husband pulled me aside and asked if I knew anything about the phone calls he was getting from the hospital. Called the hospital and found out we owed them for the stay. Had never got a statement from them and they had turned it over to collections. Apparently there was an old address in the computer system that they sent the bills to. Called the hospital found out what was going on, got the hardship app, filled it out, sent it in. In the meantime the so called collection people were harassing us. The hospital did grant us a reduction in the bill. Tried to deal with collections, offered them 50%, was refused. Called the hospital back and asked them what the final balance was, with the reduction. Was given a number, much less than what I thought is should have been, asked twice if that was right and the final amount, was told yes. Sent a check for the amount. Now collections is still trying to get the difference of the reduction. Now I think that it should be paid in full, but they just say they made a mistake and I still owe the difference. Should I pay the difference or let it go to court and air their dirty laundry? Sorry about length, but this is really starting to eat me up. Hope see some logic on this. Thanks Daryl

Nothing popped up here when I started but I know there are some topics related to this subject. Ride-On. Or whatever it is called. Is it really worth it and for those who use it would you use it again?

My friend's desire to ride sometimes outweighs his common sense. We always argue over who has the best weather source. My weather man predicted this. His called for no precip. At least he made it home safely. http://www.raymondstacy.com/davebike.jpg
