Just a short vid of my Ventures stable mate, the factory pinstriping was hideous ,looked like speed bumps under the clear ,I think this is better [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5h6GLw86SM&feature=youtube_gdata_player]Stratoliner paint job - YouTube[/ame]

I got to say this is the best change I have made on my bike to date. I always found that the forks on this bike are never right. If you have no air in them they are too mushy and if you even have a little air in them you get a very hard unforgiving ride. Hit a pot hole and you blow your kidneys out you butt and on a on ramp it almost chattered and went sideways if you hit bumps in the lean. After seeing a post by Rick Butler I decided to try something Rick had done. I installed Sonic Springs in a heavier rate (120) and added the Racetech Gold fork emulators. Basically you are eliminating the air assist and adding spring. Also you are making the shock a variable dampening unit instead of an unadapting hard on the bumps shock. Now the bike is surefooted in turns and on rough roads a much more comfortable ride. Now to do the rear shock. I planed to wait but I found the infamous pool of oil under the shock and its not warrantied. Second one in a 16000 mi range. I ordered the Works.

Does anyone know of a document that gives a minimum vehicle ground clearance that the manufacturers must meet. There are some local speed bumps that a lot of people (including me) drag bottom on, they claim that the speed bumps are less than the minimum legal vehicle height, I would like to find out what that dimension is. Preferably a document to reference.

I have a 2007 RSV. When I hit a certain bumps on the road I get a loud bang from inside the fairing. It is not all bumps just ones that seem to have a sharp drop to it. I have changed the air pessure in the front forks anywhere from 0 to 5 psi and it doesn't make a difference. I have removed the front fairing and cannot find anything loose or broken. I did notice that the headlight assembly is spring mounted and does make a little noise but I don't think this is the problem. Does any one else have this problem?

My 02 RSMV with 112k needs the forks rebuilt again. I had this done over three years ago with the additions of Baron's gold emulators. It is now just like before, very rough on the road, rattling from hitting bumps and just plain annoying. When it was done before it was so solid for some time. Some suggestions would be appreciated. Could I drain and re-oil or do I need seals etc. There is no sign of leaking.

Greetings... Anyone ever dissasemble the power Amp on a 1st gen? I've seen a lot of people complaining that the left channel cuts out intermittantly, and mine has been doing it since I got the bike. It's NOT a wiring or ground problem - AFTER the amp. I've isolated, at least MY problem to, at least the amp. (New speaker and ALL new wire hooked up directly.) I've noticed that it's failure is consistent with tempurature change. On cool days, or cool nights - it cuts off and pretty much stays off, or if it's on, it's affected by bumps. During really hot days - it will pretty much stay on all day and NOT be affected by bumps in the road. Unless I park in the shade! When it cuts out - I can frequently turn the radio off and on restoring it. Where it will usually then cut out (when I'm in the shade!)after a few seconds or minutes. That tells me that it's probably a cracked solder on the left channel speaker output. The intercom output is unaffected. I've already cleaned and shimmed the blue interface connectors, cleaned all connectors, and tried a hard wired connection bypassing the wiring harness... Before I tear it all out and dissasemble it to trace the line - I was wondering if this was a known problem, or if anyone else has already figured out a common failure point...

Through the winter didn't have the problem - but now that it's warming up, the problem is back. When I go over bumps the right channel quits working. Then sometimes it will come back on over other bumps. I've taken the radio out and looked at the connetions - they look clean. I was thinking about putting dielectric grease in the connections to see if it would help.

My wife doesn't like to 2 up on my 93 like she did on my 83. She says it is too hard. I have tried to use different pressures in the CLASS as well as in the dampers, but as a driver I didn't notice any difference untill I was riding on a bumpy road, even at slower speeds, it was hitting the bumps so hard it felt unstable. Are there situations that the rear shock gets stuck and it acts like a hard tail? How can I tell?
