Dont see anything in the Favorite Roads and Destinations for Florida? On Way back from the keys in March, I am thinking about talking Rt 27 on 3/30-31/2012. Took the southern leg of 27 a couple years ago then jogged east of lake okechobee. Was 2nd week of June and the love bugs were terrible. 1. When is love bug season (there are 2?) 2. Would like to do the west side on this trip... Anyone travel it from start to finnish?

Here is a picture of where I installed my Battery Bug Volt/battery monitor/thingy. When I bought my bike in November I realized that the battery was probably toast. When I installed the bug the replace battery alarm went off and both warning indicators were lit and it showed 0% of battery life left. So yesterday I installed a new Deka ETX20L, hooked everything back up and the bug immediately showed 100% battery condition, the warning indicators went off, the alarm stopped beeping and it read 14.2 volts. I installed it just to the edge of the right hand speaker since I always use my headset and it is easy to read there without moving my eyes too much. Also here are a few pics of the graphics I put on my bike. So touching wood, my bike is road ready for 2011. Chris in Red Deer, Alberta

Yall be careful when swapping USB drives from one Windows machine to another. Another Windows bug is being exploited out there: http://www.h-online.com/security/news/item/lnk-vulnerability-in-Windows-Attack-wave-approaches-1044370.html http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2366651,00.asp Or you can just google lnk bug or lnk virus. ( thats a small L, not a capital i, as in link without the i) Be sure to keep the security software up to date!

Ok first of all for those wondering about the water bill from last week. I got that taken care of. They do a special for leaks once a year. With any luck I won't have anymore leaks at all. Now for yesterday. Started off in the morning taking dog out for walk, kept feeling something like a hair by my ear. Tried pushing the hair away but still kept getting the same sensation. Well Turns out it wasn't a hair it was most likely a bug. Not sure what kind but it ended up in my left ear. Yeah I know don't ask how I have no idea. So yesterday I spent in the emergency room to get the darn thing out. Went to the one in Edenton because I've been to the other with someone else and spent 7 hrs there. I was there for a while maybe 45 mins got my vitals done then off to get the insurance stuff taken care of. Before I leave the nurse tells me 1 to 2 hrs most likely before I see the doc. Ok doen't sound bad if that's how long it takes. If you've ever spent any time in a hosptial emergency room you know what I mean. So after a little over 2 hrs I'm in the back waiting for the doc to come in. Now mind you this creature is in my ear for the whole time getting up the nerve to actually go to the hospital plus getting there and then waiting. So by now my ear really hurts. Doc get's out his light thing to look in my ear and says wow that's really far in there. So far doesn't sound good for me. So now we start the process of pulling the little bugger out. This is also really really painful. But I'm tough so no crying for me, but that pillow will never be the same. All he can get out is half the bug, yes I said half. Now comes the even more fun part of trying to flush the rest of it out of my ear. Talk about torture and it hurts too because my ear canal is extremely irritated as the doc tells me (wonder why). So he decides it's way too irritated to continue trying to get this thing out. I'm kinda relieved because my ear was hurting like hell at this point. He tells me I can come back in 3 days for him to get the rest out or try to make an appointment with the (mind the word the as in only one) ear nose throat guy in Elizabeth City. So I'm sitting here figuring if this is the only guy that does this he's gonna be really booked up. So I might as well head back to this doc he already knows what my ear looks like and knows I can handle the pain since they never give ya anything for this. He also gave me a prescription for these ear drops that are an anesthetic and something else. I'm hoping it makes what's left of this stupid bug really really easy to get out of my ear. I feel like my ears stuffed (which it is with the left over bug). Makes it kinda hard to hear out of too. So now I'm not sure I'm gonna make the meet in GA. I have no idea how long this is gonna take on thursday since I have to go back to the emergency room for this stuff. So I'll have to play that one by ear. Anyway I'm terrified of what next weeks gonna bring. I don't want to imagine what can happen because it seems if it's unusual and strange it's gonna happen to me. Margaret

Didn't wash the bike the whole time we were gone... Needless to say it had layers of bug splatter on it. We've washed and washed the thing, but I there is still some area's on the paint that just don't want to come clean. What would be the easiest product to use to get rid of it? Thanks Deb:think:

I am having a really hard time cleaning off the tar from a set of HD mufflers I have purchased to put on my RSV. I have used the following products with little to no effect. WD-40 Chrome Polish (Mothers and Turtle Wax) Never Dull Tar and Bug Remover and even GAS.... What am I missing here?? There has to be a way to do this and get the results....

I had two large silver maple trees cut down in my front yard about four weeks ago. Today, I was splitting the last of the big trunk pieces. I looked down at the wood pile and saw a bright, metallic green bug crawling across one of the logs. It was nearly an inch long, almost too big to be an ash borer, but it looked exactly like the pictures I have seen on the internet. I have been splitting and stacking this wood for four weeks (been busy with other stuff too) and this is the only bug I saw like that. I do not know if the bug was living in the tree (i haven't seen any evidence of the bug before) or if he was just crawling through my yard and I happened to see it. I tried to kill and collect it, but it slipped between the cracks fo the log pile before I had a chance to get at it. The local news networks are talking about how the emerald ash borer has been discovered in Clayton county, about 5 miles north of my house. Is there anything I should do? Is there any other bug out there that looks like an ash borer?

Help...I made a boo boo :!: I tried using one of those bug sponges (the ones with the scotch brite-like stuff on one side) to remove the bug guts and tar from my lower fairings. I had the lowers off and submersed in a pail of soapy water and I was scrubbing them with the bug sponge. When I pulled them out they looked great...no bug guts or tar...OR CLEAR COAT :!: :!: :!: . When I dried them off I could see a lot of dull scuffs and scratches. How do I repair this :?: I am not too familiar with automotive paints and finishes. (No kidding eh)

I recently received and installed a Clearview windshield. What does everyone use to clean thiers??? The instructions say to soak a towel with water, and then wring the cloth over the shield while scraping the bug remnants with your hand. I have no problem with that, but imagine the mess it makes on your fairinf and fender... Any suggestions???

Nice to see that the Boss has upgraded the site. One thing I don´t like though is that I got little X´s in all the small boxes all over the page. What´s up with that:confused07: Can I fix this or is this a bug on the web site? Maybe I need to install a "active X" software or something . Am I the only one seeing this?

Bought some of the sea foam bug off today, tried it on my scoot. I wasn't overly impressed with the windshield, but I believe the pledge was causing some issues. However, on the rest of the bike it was awesome. BTW also tried out the deep creep, cleaned the combustion chamber and upper cylinders, and throttle body on my truck. really blowed out a lot of crap. my neighbors were hating me, when I drove it out to the store, looked like I had a blowed head gasket or something, couldn't see for a couple hundred feet back. I believe I will do it again in another 10000 miles or so.

I kept catching these big juicy ones on my faceshield. Each time I look over at Steve, riding without faceshield, I expect to see bug all over him. I dont see how he escapes this. I get pummeled each time we ride. My faceshield looks like a crime scene. Now Steve is laughing at me cause according to him... he's a chick magnet and I'm a bug magnet... whatev. At least I had my faceshield when I needed it. All in all we had a great little ride. We spent about an hour or so looping through the countryside. I just dont see how anyone can ride with out a faceshield.
